  1. Got curious about the Brady thing...this from the CBA (Section 30.03 viii B): "In 2023, each Club will include in the Salary Expenditure Cap an additional $60,000 in respect of Non-Football Related Services, such as community appearances, outreach, and promotion. Starting in 2024 and continuing for every year of the collective agreement, each Club will include in the Salary Expenditure Cap an additional $110,000 in respect of those Non-Football Related Services. These special amounts will be the mandatory minimum amount for each Club and will be subject to strict audit rules. The Clubs will have sole discretion on which players shall received these payments and the amounts to each player, but in no case should these amounts be less than $60,000 per Club in 2023 or less than $110,000 per Club, per year thereafter. These amounts will be included in a player’s SPC and noted accordingly."

  2. so....after a lengthy independant investigation....subsequant suspension handed down, and now Pinball saying that the Team does not deny/dispute the allegations in his presser....safe to say Kelly was lying now...the trainer was not, and justified, and as per Pinballs own comments the team itself has lots of work to do, and needs to look within itself to make sure this never occurs again.....so safe to say the he says...she says narrative was debunked?....and its actually 100 percent accurate now

  3. The way it's laid out in the CBA says: For 2024 the "Salary Expenditure Cap" is $5,525,000. Then the "Non-Football Related Services minimum additional amount" is $110,000 for a "Total Salary Expenditure Cap" of $5,635,000. $110K is the number for this year and is the minimum per year going forward if league revenue doesn't increase (the table in Article 30 lays out the cap through 2028 season). If league revenue does increase, the amount available to players for promotion/outreach would also increase. To me it reads like 'You have to pay your players exactly $110k on promotion and outreach and you need to be able to prove guys are working for it.'

  5. Kramdi was a guy who I thought seemed to get better with every rep last year. I don't think it's insane to think he takes another step this year and becomes a really good NI starter...

  6. yup...this yr has a different feel to it....last yr camp was a joke...and pointless in all honesty

  7. I refer to Nats and Amerks on the roster ahead of guys due to loyalties....personal likes.....rewards.....and it played a hand in the last 2 cup losses....Jackson use...and by default hamstringing the dline...Hurt guys playing at expense of healthy ones..Biggie...Bailey..Demski..Schoen....Going for hollow stats and hype (Houston) over Rose...ZC playing in previous Cup when it was clear after 1 quarter he was limited....multiple guys dressed who never stepped over the sideline....let alone needed to even bring their helmet First eye test this yr looks like maybe we finally learned from past failure, because in all honesty we should be gong after our 5th straight cup win in a row....and what better thing to rag on the dickweeds out west about than to say we have won more cups than them in the last 5 yreas than thay have in total in over 100 yrs...plus we have 12 others in our pocket lol

  8. If history has taught us anything, it is that Kelly learns from his past indiscretions. (I hope the dripping sarcasm came through..)

  9. It can actually. Jackson is a perfect example of a bad rookie. Most old boys clubs let the wrong young guys in for the wrong reasons. That said I don’t remotely see a comparable volume of complaints about young guys as old guys. The core of the issue has been rostering and starting guys who wouldn’t make any other roster in the league. Be they old, jack thomas and kola or young like Sheahan and schmekel. Rostering DIs only to not use them at all goes way back to the pre 19 years under the Mafia. As does starting guys no one else would look at. Though our talent level at times back then left us wanting for better options.

  10. hopefully this trait of rewards to play....for various reasons other than actual skill or roster impact....has gone by the wayside this yr

  11. I believe the technical term for the position Cole plays is playmaker.

  12. Parker is our best pure tackler as a DB....i'D even go as far as to say on team....also closes extremely quickly on the play....he's be a good option, tho is a bit small in my opinion as well... Agreed...Cole would be a lethal safety....

  13. maybe I'm expecting too much, but I fully expect Tyrell Ford to be a Day 1 starter for this team...

  14. In case anyone missed it, Osh was asked about the Argos/Kelly situation yesterday: WEIGHING IN: O’Shea was asked after practice Wednesday about the nine-game suspension levied against Toronto Argonauts QB Chad Kelly. He said he would not comment on the length of suspension because ‘that’s not in my wheelhouse.’ “But I do feel very strongly that the women that work in our league deserve a safe workplace and deserve to be respected — everybody deserves to be respected and have a safe workplace,” he said. “The women in our league, and there’s a lot of them, really deserve to feel safe coming to work every day. That kind of question should be posed to the women in our organization to see if they do feel safe and respected in this workplace — I believe they do, but far be it for me to answer that. They certainly deserve our support and I know organizationally we make good decisions.”

  16. I think the fact that CK is in Toronto and will be at Training Camp in Pinball's words "because the league says he could" is a real bad look for the Argos. If he can't play for a minimum of 9 weeks, IF he does the assigned tasks and is approved by a third party he shouldn't be around the team until he has at least begun this work. I did not get the sense from Pinball that he gets it, mostly that he's trying to toe a very fine line with the league but really is trying to protect his guys. Maybe more than ever I think he and Murphy as a minimum need to go.

  17. Thanks. The only reason it's confusing at all is the use of the word, "Minimum". Makes it seem like there is no maximum.

  19. Nah, he's been trying to turn this on the woman from day one. Has nothing to with Kelly being suspended so I'm not inclined to cut him some slack. Had he taken more of a wait and see attitude, I might buy the "in shock" excuse but he's been this way since the allegations first came out.

  20. I think it’s all made grey by the fact that the last two gc losses were soo close that any single change of an under performing factor likely turns a loss into a win. If biggie played at a peak modp level for instance I think we win. But I don’t particularly blame biggie for the losses.

  22. I agree...I think I see some realization of "the way" the last 2 yrs basically stole 2 cups away from us Also the kind/level of talent brought in this yr seems to be legit to actuallyfill a spot...steal a spot...or be heir apparent for a spot
    3 points
  23. Yeah he’s got a pretty narrow frame but I mean we’ve seen guys like Hefney and Clint Kent for example in the past excel in that spot.

  24. Soon time to sign up for TSN again. Gotta get my TV in ship shape during the training camp. Clean off the cobwebs and dust. Give it a rub down and work out the on off button. Rotate the batteries in the remote. Apply updates to the router. Fluff the seat cushion on my chair and ensure the frosty beverage table is stable and ready for the season.

  29. The idea that it's always the victim's fault to change is disgusting. Change the way you dress because this man can't control himself. Change the way you speak because you're upsetting this man. Change your job because this player is trash and can't control himself. It's not a surprise that the usual chauvinists are gaslighting.

  31. I really am not sure that Grant was a SMS casualty. I think the Bombers felt that he was in the tub too much.
    2 points
  32. Of course, didn't you see. The team didn't bring back the victim because they wanted her to know that they take harassment seriously!
    2 points
  33. I thought about that. Maybe the Bombers just wanted to move on from Grant. With there being no limits to this promo money they could have easely found extra money for him. Did the Bombers actually lose any players that they wanted to re-sign? They knew they had to start turning over some of the roster. Need to develop the next group of starters.

  36. If that is the case how were the Argos expected to justify giving Chad Kelly 100k in promo money? Thats alot to give to one player. How many appearances was he expected to make?

  40. Cole is a guy to me that if he improves in the slightest from last year we just need on the field. I think you could play him at either lber spot, or Sam or S. personally I’d take advantage of that and move him around and use that versatility to get other guys on the field for packages. And also to limit the reps of Kyrie/biggie keeping them healthier hopefully. He’s strong, fast, physical, got all the motor and drive in the world and strong anticipation skills. He’s got modp upside, and reasonable ability to fulfill that potential with reps and coaching. Kramdi I think has upside and use situationally. He puts him self in position, but is hit or miss when it comes to actually making plays. Short yardage/goal line, clear running downs I think he’s an asset. And he is more useful in coverage than the limited Halletts Imo. But he shouldn’t start Sam or other wise.

  41. from not seeing any of the new guys in person...yet...Cole is our best option I believe for SAM...and was last yr as well....I got chatised on here last yr about comments on Kramdi but he should not have started....would start no where else in league and his spot was a direct Osh gift whether some of you wanna believe it or not....Cole is our best sideline to sideline tracker...can run with backs and slots....hits a ton and actual can tackle...he should be our SAM This yr...we only need to start 1 canadian on defence, and the factwe dont take advantage of any loopholes in the rules (nationalized) and last yr rostered a total dud all yr to also help in a real efective rotation with a qualified/skilled DI there is no reason to start 2 on defense.....If there are 2 canadians that are just head and shoulders above and better than any import player at a spot sure....but I see nobody on the roster who fits that narrative on dfemse....so why go that route If we choose to...then I Yhink it should be Ford over Kramdi at that spot as he offrs a boatload more....and still has upside..Kramdi is what he is

  42. (First bolded part)25k isn't a lot....which should speak to how badly she wants to work in that industry. Why would she want to stay though? The questions you should be asking are, what opportunities can come to her if she stays in the industry? What opportunities can come to her if she stays with that organization? How many opportunities does she have to do that job in a profession where there are less than 50 (I'm not sure what the UFL is like for that specific job so I gave them the benefit of doubt) pro football teams in NA? How might another year of experience help her career? I would suggest that her wanting to stay despite the low pay and harassment shows this may very well be a dream job for her. For the record, one of my dream jobs pays less than 35k a year. I'm no longer working in it for various reasons, but if I could i absolutely would. Suggesting $$ is one of the only factors is short sighted. (Second bolded part) yes, so they did the right thing and got rid of the victim. That will really show the victim that they take harassment seriously! And I bet the accused would really learn a hard lesson. That's just an absolutely ridiculous claim to make. Lol.

  44. Can we all just agree that Kelly is a wiener and the league is better off without him? TSN (and the league to some degree) both look like idiots for forcing him on us as the new face of the league, when everybody could tell something like this was the inevitable conclusion.
    2 points
  45. Predictable reaction.

  46. The league investigated and obviously found what she said to have merit or they wouldn't have suspended the guy they tried to make the new face of the league. You say you neither believe nor disbelieve but are clearly lying.
