  1. The funny thing is, this is exactly the kind of stuff a good reporter would learn and ask about. **** are they ever lazy

  3. I live for the annual complaining about lack of coverage....

  4. I will definitely complain about Friesen at times but he's doing some good pieces on interviews with some of the rookies and I appreciate that

  6. I think Tait said Kendall Randolph hasn't practiced due to injury, nothing about Kenny Randall who doesn't seem to have reported to camp

  7. Camp hasn’t even started and you are already asking where the coverage is😉 JK though, I agree.

  8. The NFL doesn't even sell national rights for pre-season games. Local affiliates pick them up. The CFL fucks up a lot in concert with TSN but this isn't even on the Top 100 list.

  9. 11) Chris Streveler, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Hard money: $120,000 Maximum value: $174,000 The fan favourite returned to Bomberland this off-season following a four-year stint in the NFL. He received a $36,200 signing bonus from Winnipeg and can collect $70,000 in base salary, $13,800 in housing money, and $3,000 each time he plays more than half of the team’s offensive snaps in a regular season game Milt was the exception. At one business I was at we had 3 or 4 players at an autograph signing and only Milt was given the envelope of cash.

  10. Tait mentioned that Randall hasn't practiced due to injury. Nothing about the others afaik.

  11. player refusing was more so to not lose face with teamates...which isn't right by any means but I getit...as I know they have likely all talked and know things to be true....and doesn't want to blackball himself....tho I would think in most rooms in the league, players would hold no bias against him based on what was done....That being said...If supeoned for court....he will have to come forward...or risk purgery, as he won't know who else may be witness to it.....none the less...he should be kicked from league...text messages alone....proving it...and witness testimoney supporting it....and fact he lied about it right outta the gate should be enough

  12. Looks like someone leaked the executive summary that was provided to the Argos/CFL. Surprised the by-line here is Naylor and not Westhead tbh https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/dave-naylor-independent-investigation-corroborates-three-of-six-allegations-against-chad-kelly-1.2118960

    2024 CFL Pre Season

Who are we kidding, after the offseason I'll watch any cfl.

  15. Preseason games can be and usually are pretty boring. I will watch Bombers preseason games but I'm probably not watching anyone else.

  16. I would argue in the current media market Canada has enough football fans for the CFL and TSN to do very well, problem is at least half of those football fans choose to follow the NFL and ignore the CFL, and the advertisers follow the numbers.

  17. Canada is a small market. It sucks but itnis what it is. Easier and cheaper to buy a feed for some out of country bullshit and show that than produce your own **** Canadian companies are awful at this. Just want to suck money from people and not spend anything

  21. I’m more excited for camp pre season and the regular season than I was the last two years, just because of the optimism about this. I think the mafia has learned how far loyalty should extend and when to cut it off. The raptors just rode championship loyalty into the toilet. We haven’t adapted as fast as the stamps did, but I think we got there.

  22. I feel like some of you are overthinking this. It can be anything the Bombers want to pay them for. Players will still make numerous unpaid appearances for things like “I love to read month”.

  23. I think he’s been generally positive about the team since the drought ended. Not sure how true, but I’ve heard over the years Friesen was butthurt about having to cover football instead of curling. Would explain a lot of the snark towards the Bombers.

  24. Amazing how this just fell off the news cycle. The 4 or 5 people coverinng the CFL for the media & Argo fans have moved on. MLSE were counting on it.

  26. Christian Aurmell talks Bombers a decent amount. I think he’s the next Tait or Irving, if he wants to go that way.

  27. Tait has 2 pieces per day on bluebombers.com plus a podcast.
    1 point
  28. CJOB talking bombers during the day also. Honestly. The 2 best kinda don’t do it anymore, tait and Irving so we are left with guys like friesen and the sorts who have wrote some interesting not as negatively spinned articles about players. I think I saw a Streveler interview where he talks about his ex gf in Winnipeg having the fur coat. I saw an article about kj hill and how Austin Mack kinda convinced him to give the cfl a try. I mean not bad for a little rookie camp.

  30. Free Press and Sun are both pumping out 2-3 stories per day. Not too hard to find or get around paywall if you have internet skill.

    The TV Thread

It's so frustrating how they play to the lowest common denominator. Always beating you over the head instead of letting you figure it out for yourself. I get that's what network TV is but it's increasingly difficult with the advent of quality prestige streaming.

  32. Willie Jefferson was at my daughter’s school last year. Believe the promo money would be like appearing at let’s say a signing at a dealership or something along those lines. Strev got promo money did he not. So bombers giving it out to guys who will draw fans in right. Ain’t no rookie or nobodies getting promo cash.

  33. First point on training camp bingo every year. That said it’s sad that in the early 2ks and prior we got great tc reports from a couple sources each day, and now we get the odd one that is a fraction as good.

  34. Thanks. You are correct, it was Randolph out with injury, not Randall.

  36. Anyone else feel that the player that refused to answer questions during the investigation should face repercussions as well? I'm of the mind, if you aren't working to solve the problem, you are part of the problem. Hopefully he gets subpoenaed for the court case and tells the truth. F$%K the "Double Blue" line...

  37. I just can't see them getting full value on Hardrick's contract at this point of his career even if he will bring huge locker room upside. How in god's green earth is Logan Ferland worth 194k? That one blew me away. That guy is a pylon...actually that is an insult to pylons.

  38. I have a hard time believing the lawyers would want this kind of attention put on a case that has already had a large amount of public condemnation. There was no good coming from Kelly being around the organization in a public manner.

    2024 CFL Pre Season

TSN has done as little as possible to develop the market. They've been the SOLE CFL broadcaster for more than 20 years.

    2024 CFL Pre Season

It's expensive to produce a live broadcast of anything. If they don't have the viewership to command and dollars, they can't justify the cost of production. It sucks for us, but CFL+ doing it with just in house video feeds is the cheapest possible thing they can do. There's just not enough CFL diehards out there.

  41. Comparing Mike Miller to Wayne Greztky and Micheal Jordan is a little over the top. After being undrafted, they did not have to scrap their way to make a professional roster. Miller is the perfect candidate to coach.

  42. TSN Executive: I'm sorry everyone, we can't show CFL preseason ths year because we are already carrying the Blue Jays game. Intern: *whispers" TSN Executive; We have FOUR channels?!

  43. It's time to start asking questions of MLSE. Like, why do Murphy and Pinball still have jobs? I expect little from Ambrosie. He's been such a useless commish. It's like he believes it's an honorary title or something.

  44. Dunigan also had the misfortune of having an absolute wingnut of an owner.
    1 point
  45. Dunnigan....tho he had way too much to do as a first timer and a poor one...same with prob 6 other guys...some injured...some just having no business being rostered
    1 point
  46. The fallout from this isn't over. Pinball, the Argos and the CFL are getting absolutely dunked on Twitter right now. This might end with more people losing their jobs.

  47. If Colorado goes to the final this year, then 5 of the last 6 teams to eliminate the Jets will have gone to the Stanley Cup Final. The three you mentioned plus Montreal in the bubble, St L in their cup year and Vegas in their first season. The only exception would be Calgary in 2019-20, which technically we missed the playoffs, finishing 9th in the conference in the COVID shortened season and lost to them in the play-in round.
