  1. One other thing I will say is how proud I am to have Osh as our coach. In each of these incidents he has come out with statements that are on the right side and wasn't afraid to be critical of the CFLPA or the Argos/CFL interpretation of the CBA.

  3. Mos made a great comment in the presser yesterday. He said that they all really value both CMI and Clercius going into their last ncaa season knowing they weren't going to get the reps that they wanted, but sticking it out with their teams any way and finding new roles to support their teams. Its some thing you dont see in the transfer portal era. Guys hit it and quit it soo fast now. I mean we have lots of guys who transferred multiple times on the roster. It takes a special mind set for guys like that, especially soo talented and athletic to choose loyalty to their program even if their program doesn't choose it to them. Really makes me think both those guys are gonna overachieve here.

  4. What the hell does that say about their organization.....no credibility ...So watching him play and if he's on the Als game day roster, you have to wonder if the fix is in...Just a bullShit call by the cflpa.....

  5. You know, if some American doesn't want to come to Canada to try out for a job in the CANADIAN football league, I'm just fine with that.

  7. I mean the Americans coming in here as tailbacks realize that the incumbent is a Canadian who was just up for MOP? And we have a Canadian backup who has been here for more than half a decade? There's literally no roster spot for them. They are coming in to try to steal a practice roster spot or a shot with another team. I'm not even sure they'd really consider them for return duty unless they blew everyone's socks off because they'll want cover for another spot through that role, likely receiver.

  8. How you could have someone around that bet on their OWN games, you just can’t trust someone like that. Tells you exactly what their organization is all about.

  15. If someone thinks that we could get rid of the Canadian ratio, employ mostly all Americans trying to get into the NFL, and not adopt NFL rules is more than a bit delusional. Get rid of the radio and the CFL is over.

  16. the rules are what make it great...not who's under the helmet...and the best available players would make it even better....talent/competition wise....If they were all American....all Japanese...all Mexican....all white...blck...combo of all nations....and played in Canada....under the same rules...in same stadiums....wouldn't bother me one bit....If it was all Canadian tho...I'd watch...to a point....but would not pay the money I do now when attending for a sub par product....I could watch Junioor or Canadian University for that....for a fraction of the price...BTW...I was born in Canada and lived here till about 16....and moved back when I entered the work force...So i'm not some Anti-Canadian basher

  17. Yeah....JA isn't going anywhere...he has become a valuable foot soldier....Cutting him on roster for whom?....makes zero sense MCI was the smartest pick of our draft as it finally allows us to roster an impactful DI on defence now, and have a fullback who is an actual threat out of the backfield, as well be a key piece in a grind em out drive in 4th qi=uarter working with BO Interesting to hear Osh's comments re: Fox, and highlightiong all the traits he brings in the middle..most of which we were lacking last year...He didn't miracously learn that the last 4 months of the off-season...was there already in B.C....and just an example of a wasted opportunity, and a guy stuck behind another player in the reward system...or the we gotta play a pointless fullback

  19. Whoever tweeted that doesn't understand how the CFL works. They mentioned lying about speed but the article only talks about Chris-Ike's speed. He's a non-counter who would not have affected brown's status with the club.

  20. MCI is replacing Jackson on the roster, not Augustine imo. They’ll be able to use an American somewhere else like we all wanted last season.
    4 points
  21. Yeah he will. We're not exactly bursting with Canadians. Lots of rookies.

  22. Back to Training Camp discussion. Man, you get the impression Michael Chris-Ike is going to be a factor (no, not the jabari arthur factor) on this team. I am not usually one to pay attention to the combine results but for a guy that is 6'1" 225 to be the top in the cone and shuttle is impressive. Combine that with having a bunch of special teams tape; describes himself as aggressive on teams; it really sounds like he is exactly what we need. You could also see O'Shea beaming (the classic O'Shea beam) when talking about him.

  24. Keep the Canadian starters the same but add 2 more DI's to replace 2 Canadian back ups.

  27. You dont get it....due to ratio to fill out the roster....many many inferior Canadians get role jobs as oppsoed to Americans...so if say an LB has a opp to compete for a job....but doesn't get it say due to another American they go with...he has no hope to make the roster on teams and try and earn a spot in practice.... the ST lb's filling out the roster will be inferior Canadians...who aren't good enough to be a Canadian starter...so guys won't come due to that...a lot of times as well they may be better than a projected Canadian Starter....but again.....won't get the job because there just isnt enough starter quality Canadians on some rosters to change your ratio...Guys careers are short as it is, and for a U.S guy to come up here, already behind the 8-ball due to ratio and risk catastrophic injury with really next to no chance to make it...they decline the offer....doubt me if you wish....but these are facts...and has happened a ton

  28. It's weird to say that the Bombers have missed out on players because of ratio concerns because it's balanced out by playing an import somewhere else. So it's not even that you are better than the incumbent Canadian you are trying to displace, you have to better than the Canadian than another import is better than the typical Canadian at their position. You can argue that the Bombers have not really taken advantage of some of the new rules surrounding imports, but the players filling those spots likely aren't going to be higher level imports.

  29. They should though. They are likely repped by a CFLPA approved agent. You'd think you would do a little digging on your career prospects, how the league works, the team they are going to etc.

  30. Yup. Wouldn’t be the cfl without a Brady or a fn schmekel as a Canadian. I’m cool with that. That’s what makes the cfl the cfl.

  32. Just claimed Ed was lying because Brown had a faster 40 than Clercius. Not realizing that Ed was specifically talking about the CND combine. Was kinda awkward. I think it's a family member and not Brown as Brown seems to have a different twotter handle.

  33. This exactly, why aren't the Als facing and backlash on this? Guys betting on games they are playing in is usually only bad for the team...

  34. Big factor in both being Canadian, not brought up thinking football is their only option or escape and maybe took the free education segment of their scholarship more seriously.

  35. That is 100% true. Though he struggled blocking guys who crossed his face or played nose last year. Did hodge get a single pick in his mock draft right, out side of us drafting the 3 fbs of course. He was the ultimate FIFO guy, First in first out, LOL. Smith is an ideal fit. Kr, RB, but also played multiple WR spots, ran Jet motion, the whole package. He could back up multiple positions and be a super sub. He's a lot like grant in that he is compact (though a good bit heavier,) strong, tough, and an aggressive north south runner. He's got a full kit of cuts, with the full spectrum of speed no gears lacking. He does a great job of using his small stature to his advantage as well hitting through the smallest holes for big gains. I feel like out side of grant we have made strange strange choices at KR, but smith sure should be a front runner. Probably the fastest guy on the field in camp too. Gotta love that every one is wearing the guardian helmet, but in the first clip two guys run facemask first into each other.

  36. Farewell, Reacher... We hardly knew ye. And man, Alston was first man up in Bailey's spot to open camp... Then among the first cuts. Definitely curious how many of these are injury related and might be back at some point yet...

  37. Hopefully we got Fox+Lawson as the starters at DT and Jake is just rotational. Would be great if we could DI 2 DL (a DT and a DE).
    3 points
  38. Either way we've dodged a bullet. I feel like guys who are healthy cuts in the first wave of camp never come back, especially imps.
    3 points
  39. Yep. One of the most amazing facets of our WR core, only one guy on the entire roster at WR is 30 years old. Demski is the oldest and still has plenty of time left. Best WR core and a young prime group too. It's really going to be interesting to see who wins the last spot and why.

  40. Given we know who 4 of our 5 receivers are going to be...gotta figure they are trying to hit a home run with who they pick to complement that group rather than someone that currently knows what they're doing. Says a lot about the skill level of the guys we've brought in too.

  41. Little surprised about Waggoner. Brown was a kr and rb. We are thin at rb, but might just be the reality that no imp rb is gonna make it if they aren’t a full time kr. Alston was starting day one of tc which shows all you need to know about how important that is. Im guessing most of these guys failed fifo/adaptability to the league checks. I wonder if the league would be better off having the first cut after a week of practices.

  42. Cutting a guy without the ability to read and understand fastest cfl combine 40 yard time vs. Any other combine probably a good decision by the Bombers.

  46. I truly don't believe Helle numbers were reflective of his play. The team was **** in front of him and he was hung out to dry.

  47. I'd have a hard time thinking MCI would pass him on the depth chart as the gameday backup at RB this year. It sounds more like they will use him at FB/TE if he sees the field on offense

  48. top 40 time too

  49. Especially with Kelly out, they have a huge leg up in the east division. Hamilton is still stuck with the corpse of blm, and ott is likely still a year away from being a year away.

  50. This is a great article.... good to hear that Haba seems ready to take over Jackson's role... but I'm excited about Garbutt and Rivers too... having a three man rotation of Willie, Haba, and Rivers/Garbutt will hopefully cause a lot of havoc for opposing QBs
