  4. We had an issue with Jeffcoat, he was a good guy all indications were he was a great teammate and when healthy a force, but.......he was in and out enough that we didn't really develop a replacement "rip the bandaid off" as someone above mentioned and overall, it hurst us. We are seeing the same with Biggie. I get he was hurst most of last year, but he was not good enough. Biggie is a perennial all-star, one of the best MLB to play and we got many great years out of him, unfortunately if we keep him in and out we will do the same thing we did with Jeffcoat. IMO at this point Biggie should be insurance only, park him on the 6 game and have a true open competition for MLB. If the guy we roll with falters Gauthier is a very serviceable stop gap, but I don't want him to be the main day one starter, and I really like the guy......

  5. Between Moses, Ayers and Gemmel if there’s not a replacement in there, there needs to be more competition brought in

  6. There have been a few that have pointed out Biggie's decreasing impact and high salary for a couple of years. It wasn't bad when he took a discount. I just want to see competition at TC. If Biggie wins the job, then good on him. I just think it's time for succession planning.

  7. The cap also doesn't matter right now. There's lots of time to find savings (cuts, 6 game IR, contract restructuring) if they really needed to.

  8. I completely and 100% agree. IF Bighill has an injury that will keep him out any length of time there is still time to get on the horn and bring in a dozen IMPs that would do better than Gauthier. It is a massive downgrade, let's not pretend it isn't. Bighill wasn't at the top of his game last year, and probably never will be again, but suggesting that Bighill/Gauthier is a wash is a gross exaggeration.

  9. There’s absolutely zero need for it. We’re not talking about a spot injury, we’re talking about a potentially prolonged absence with the ability to have an open camp competition.

  10. The guardian design will be replaced. Something more aerodynamic to allow for quicker acceleration, sensor rings to collapse during contact, and advantage to defenders during a field goal and punts. This French prototype could be popular.

  11. yes it sure worked fine in the days of Teddy Roosevelt - back when men were men and took their head shots without complaining....or without helmets on...I still can't believe that there was a time in the NHL when not only players didn't wear helmets but goalies didn't wear masks. Just one of the many things I look back in history and ask "what were they thinking".... How Teddy Roosevelt helped save football - The Washington Post

  12. Bighill is an absolute legend and was a huge part of this teams ascension.... but when 100% healthy he is just good enough. If he is at all dinged (which he seems to have been for the last couple seasons) he isn't able to play at the necessary level. Father time is undefeated.

  13. I'm not certain Biggie was a top 10 LB last year in a 9 team league.

  14. a play making DT and 2 legit ends rotating opposite WJ...and we will see WJ have a career yr this yr....he played way too many reps last 2 yrs and it hurts his impact...Kudos for him doing it...but shave off 10 or so reps a game at minimum for him...and watch him dominate
    4 points
  15. It hasn't been much different the past two seasons. When the O is off & the D needs to pick up the slack and make some stops...they usually don't. As far as I'm concerned, the only good games from the D happened when the Jeffs were able to crank it up to another level. The West final was one of those games.

  16. need to finally treat the last hold over of the loyalty/reward system like a band aid and rip er off and let stuff heal in open air....Bring in a guy with the skill set for the position...and let him grow and learn on the fly in the early part of the season and see if he takes the job and runs..Much like we did with that SAM a few years back...once he kinda flatlined and gassed out...we made a deal for Darby.....keep Biggie on the 6 game for now and so he gets paid...and is here as a defacto coach/mentor and if we need him for spot duty....he is good coverage as you know he can play....I just think full time reps now for him is a big ask

  17. I generally am Team Booch on everything but the one place we disagree is that I'd watch a 100% Canadian CFL before I'd watch all American. I'm here for the Canadiana of it all.

  18. If he can't go..and they keep Moses...I'd trial by fire him ...best way to cut your chops. If they go the Gauthier route...load heavy on dline and rotate the heck out of them ...

  19. True. Hard to get and keep a spot if you keep going to IL. Opens the door for other guys to win the job.

  22. Bailey and Scoen were useless too, and not even paid attention to by the Al's...Demski was not far behind as well, but once the Al's saw when he got the ball he was nowhere near his game breaking self...they played off and totally focused on Lawler and BO....Just sucks that we should be attacking our 5th win in a row if not for coaching failing us

  23. DB (and WR) are the least of my concerns. If a borderline starter like Parker is hurt, it just means one of the other 97 DB's in camp get more reps. Now if we were talking about a guy like Nichols, well that's a different story. I like Parker but he's not irreplaceable.

  24. Actually Bryant relies more on technique...skill and hands more than anything....and has never had a serious injury of anytype....If he doesnt blow a tire this yr, and shows no decline in play...I could see him playing in 2025....

  25. a B player who was healthy we do to

  26. He’s 36 ffs. If there’s one guy that prob should be replaced it’s bighill. Bryant prob shortly also. It’s not crapping on a guy because his best days are behind him. It’s fact. Coaches are here to make the tough decisions when the players refuse to. Bighill shouldn’t have played the cup game last year and if this year is starting like this it’s time to let him go. Loyalty doesn’t win championships. Playing guys who are hurt don’t win championships. This isn’t kids under 10 soccer where everyone gets a turn. It’s the pros. Bighill is a liability at his age now.

  27. No, that's exactly what it addresses. When that sudden impact happens, the guardian cap absorbs the impact and slows the impact down. I was briefed on this with the Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage. I sat there while experts in the field explained all these mitigating factors. I'm not arguing with someone who's worried about how it "looks".

  28. Nailed it. And his career is top 5 ish all time. Maybe the best lber skill set ever up here

  29. Its been time going on two years now. Thats the most frustrating thing.

  30. thing is....its not just head shots that can cause a concussion...it's the abrupt stopping of a body...so a guardian cap does nothing for that....a sudden jarring of the body with zero head contact probably causes as many if not more concussions I've had 6 confirmed concussions....1 was a head shot....

  31. Or even take a look a FA's if Biggie is going to miss significant time. Kyrie at MLB has served us well in the past though. He wasn't awful, he just wasn't MOP calibre anymore. Biggie still excels in aspects of his game, but he is no longer an every situation dominant MLB anymore.

  32. This all makes me really hope Dylan Moses can play up here.

  34. In the 60's, you could become a Canadian on a CFL roster after playing for the same team for (I believe) 5 seasons. So guys like Ken Ploen, Ron Lancaster,George Reed, D i c k Thornton, Wayne Harris & Don Luzzi could play as Canadians & not Americans. They also had to live in the community for that long as well so it required Americans to take up permanent residency in Canada in the city where they played. They were called "Designated Canadians under CFL rules. That probably explains why there were more "Canadians" playing on teams back then, then there are now. The thing that irked Canadian players is they felt that it took jobs away from actual Canadians so they hated that rule. I don't believe that anyone sued anybody. I think it was just eliminated in future CBA's in the late 1970's or 80's once these players with that designation retired. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Again, the Bighill injury comes down to terrible roster management & no succession plans at that position. Why we wouldn't sign a younger inside linebacker during free agency with potential to push Bighill out the door if he can't keep up is mind boggling. We all love Biggie but let's be serious. he's not the same player he once was. He needed to be pushed & it ain't happening.

  36. The english teacher in me...only a single o required here
    3 points
  37. Agreed. I haven't said otherwise. I love football for a lot of reasons. One being the strategy a team needs to use to play its best against any given opponent. The ratio is another aspect that each team has to account for in their strategy. Which is one of the reasons I love the ratio.

  38. Could see Bighill kind of being that extra coach on the 6 game type guy if he's not going to play. Save money on two caps at once.
    3 points
  39. They must sit Week 1 at least. Correct on the ability to come off early for no cap savings. Two possibilities from camp: 1) Gauthier swaps in for Bighill at MIKE. 2) Wilson moves to MIKE, Brian Cole at WILL

  40. Maybe we will Mark Stone Biggie 🤔

  41. 100% not retiring. Just a roster move.

  42. If someone thinks that we could get rid of the Canadian ratio, employ mostly all Americans trying to get into the NFL, and not adopt NFL rules is more than a bit delusional. Get rid of the radio and the CFL is over.

  43. If Bighill gets replaced by Gauthier in our starting lineup, that’s borderline fireable

  44. Reread your babble...u said there is allocated positions based on nationality....and I know a roster makeup...been on several...both sides of the border and now help in recruiting and training and getting guys a chance to make a roster so I'm pretty well versed in it but thanks...

Your kids don't know what they are talking about. I have the S10+ and have considered going to a newer phone, but it's been so good that I see no reason to change. My whole family is on iPhones, but I will never have one for myself.
