  1. Well if she wanted to be happy she shouldn't have married me... wait what were we talking about?

  2. ^^^ Which is why I gave up on the Coach's Show on CJOB and don't bother to listen to it. I admit that I got spoiled in the Kelly year but even Lapo gave some sort of effort at more than one or two word answers to questions. Not worth listening to 45 minutes of commercials to hear zero insight on anything. But hey that's life on that front, I'll take it every day of the week if it means we get to the Cup every year.

  4. In his case, as funny as it would be for us, It’s gotta be Sask. 2-3 years at the tail end of his career isn’t gonna make him put a blue jersey on for the HOF.

  5. I loved dressler. As a rider I liked him as much as I could any rider player especially one who used to kill us. He was like buck pierce at wr but with a stronger surrounding cast. From a league stand point he should go in as a rider. If he chose us, I’d be thrilled he was a great player and great person.

  6. If he goes in as a Bomber, the teeth (tooth?) gnashing in Riderville would be hilarious.

  7. I think people might be surprised with some of the names who do and do not make the roster this season. Just a hunch. To me it feels like there is more willingness to shake things up. For that reason, I'm waiting til final cuts are actually made before I complain. I also wouldn't read much into O'Shea's pressers, they've been exactly the same for about ten years now regardless of how well or how poorly things are going. He is certainly consistent in his messaging.

  8. Jake Thomas was a solid rotational player for us for many years, the issue is there’s a difference between a 28 year old Jake Thomas playing on a heavy rotational DL line up in 2019 and a 32 year old Jake Thomas starting almost every game for us. With Cam Lawsons injury I’m hoping that doesn’t mean status quo this year I would still go with an all American DL and If that means Jake Thomas rotates in, that’s something I could live with, but I would be extremely disappointed if he plays as often as he did in 2023..

  9. And then immediately played the next 3 years with an organization that has been in a class of it's own in regards to the treatment and ongoing support of it's players. Dressler is basically saying these were the years he enjoyed the most in his career, and based on where he came from I believe this is more than lip service. The Riders dissed him, the Bombers embraced him and helped him grow not just as a football player but as a relatively young man transitioning to a new chapter in his life. Dressler wants us all to know he respects the hell out of that. I will take his indecision at face value.

  12. we had garbage management...garbage players....garbage environment.....it was a collective revitilization....not the work of one guy...save for that stooge Mike Kelly we had compatent coaches...tho Burke was in over his head as a HC but thats a product also players...coaches NOT wanting to come here....Walters deserves a heck of a lot more credit than he gets...same with Miller....he created the atmosphere organization wide that also cultured and created the environment....the "culture" here isn't a new concept....it is here NOW but we didn't re-invent the wheel. This loyalty to vets/foot soldiers and at times can...and has worked in reverse too...I know with 100 percent certainty that Woli was gonna walk away, but if not for some intervening by a few players...and assistant coaches he opted to give it another stab...why you think BOLO walked?....groomd and ready for 2 yrs, and come a big game didnt even step on field as 3 other guys higher on the totem pole who could barely play let alone make a differnce in the Cup kept him on the sidelines...who blames him from running away...there have bee others as well Do I have a bias against him?...forsome things yeah...I do and rightfully so....winning glosses over many things in sports....but eventually it gets exposed, and if one doesnt change....you see the results...0-2 now....and counting

  13. Yeah if it was that simple why did it take soooo long to even find a competent coach let alone a coach that has won us 2 cups? Your bias against MOS is showing again.

  14. I always liked what I saw from Brown. Stylistically he reminds me a bit of ZC, but scrambles a bit like Reilly. Jury is absolutely out on him, he could be the next Mike Reilly, or the next Nick Arbuckle.

  15. Me too. I’ve always hated the Riders but always respected who Weston was as a player and as a person. A real heart and soul guy. I know he wasn’t completely in his prime here in Winnipeg but he still had some productive years here and helped change our culture around to the winning culture it is today.

  16. his non answers...seeing no reason to change course...etc..etc...can almost be sickening....and yup...same ol same ol...He talks about not being good enough....and looking into why...and not settle for accepting...but does exactly that. If Jake was to answer that question his answer would be...accept in the fact if u can stick on the roster...you are garuanteed a role....regardless if you are the best

  17. haha...oh yeah...true... Thing is with after camp cuts....you can't go off the "ya but" nobody grabbed this guy..that guy...teams invest time and money in their own off-sesson recruiting, needs, fit etc....so they will give thir guys time....also a guy we may have cut could have offered more of what cut them for...but not elsewhere...it's not us cut and dried as apples to oranges

  19. in all honesty...I hope so...but highly doubt it...and if asked will get a answer that basically says nothing other than "we are happy with who we have....and they are all #1's"....or something of that ilk...which is far from true...and just doeant cut it...if a guy has been here 1 yr..6 months...7 years...they are all part of the team and working toward the same goal...let the best compete and play...

  24. as much as I still dont think Schmeck amounts to much (hope I wrong) I would rather he gets rostered, and just spells guys off as well from an all Import Dline starting group....He at least can move around well, pursue and move laterally to try and impede a play...Thomas can't....and tired of watching him backside of a play lolly gaging and jogging up to the pile...if the play isnt funnelled right to him...he basically has zero impact...

  25. Not cut per se, his contract was up and wasn't brough back (at least initially). They re-signed him in late May 2018 so we hadn't even had our first pre-season game yet. https://www.bluebombers.com/2018/05/23/training-camp-day-3-recap-2/

  27. I have a Dressler Bomber jersey, but it should be Sask. I get the sense he is trying to pay respect to the Bombers by saying it is a hard decision, but the Rider fans will probably take it as disrespect to them instead.

  28. Anyone who thought Thomas wasn't going to be in the plans was only fooling themselves. The second he was brought back he was in the plans. I actually think this year there has been a lot of the moving on and won't be as bad as last year.

  29. i seen him running around the other day....doing stuff....so not too sure what his issue is, but didnt seem serius...and really...he needs no reps for most part I tho would like to see Smith given a heavy work load out of backfield...and in slot....as he would be our best return option, as he is a legit RB with big play potential and an excellent reciever I still getting the old boys club vibe and the head scratcher decisons tho....why would we change course now...especially with injuries.....whereas that is the opportune time to give a guy his shot and make it tough to take it away...we know what our pluggers can do, and they won't be doing more magically...use them as a last resort if new blood needs some sessoning....I'd roll 6 games with youth and aggressive hungry players...see what you have vs the other teams game day rosters...if we have such a great culture and vet leadership than we should over come a new import DT...MLB and extra DE with ease...

  30. Agree thats all what is likely. Brady, Demski, woli, 3 ol, jake ford and I think ba won’t be back especially early it’ll be Hallet/kelly at S. so it could well be 10 ni starters with gauthier. With a di at K Kr and should be DE, I’m hopeful the last will be a lber. With karamoko and Kramdi as back ups. Letting us start Moses gemmel petrishen, di another and pr the last. Roster wise I’m worried about the lack of news around Brady. I don’t think we gave any snaps to an imp rb last week. Augustine struggled with blitz pick up a lot and we need good pass pro at rb with all the ol changes.

  31. Yeah, hopefully the D-line guys can build off of Monday’s game and really flash next Friday…. Making the coaching staff find a way to keep them on the AR…. IE an all import front 4.

And really both ints that the guy threw were identical. Right to a player he obviously didn't account for. That's learning the game with an extra body.

  33. which is still too many....I will say that I am more than confident to predict that Jake will be the starting DT...backed by Schmeckle and we will rarely if at all see any sets without one or other on field....Gauthier in the middle, Ford on the corner (which I like) tho Cole will man SAM....we will start 9 Nationals for no other reason than thats how Osh operates and he will give a smug non informative reason for it other than "they are all number 1's" or something along those lines...but wont roster anything DI wise or other to take advantage of free rotation with no ratio juggling We will dress FOX and WJ as imports on the D-line and 1 rotational guy likely as an end...and we only get that privledge because Bennett wasn't good to go and cut....Only one of moses or Gemmel/Petrishen will dress if we are lucky.....thats home opener defensive lineup .....and that is pretty sad...Prove me wrong Osh....please...just once just watch him jogging around behind plays all tippy toed with zero impact...happens way too often

  34. this is exactly what I was thinking... in the end, it's going to be Sask... but I find it hilarious that he is even second guessing it

  36. Sounds like Weston didn't exactly like the crap thrown his way, on his departure from saskabush....He was treated with genuine praise and was well liked, when he suited up for us and he has said as much....I know the impression of my career I would like going into the hof and it's not the final one he left behind in Regina

  37. He did not leave the Riders on good terms, that may be at the heart of his indecision. Jones cut him after Taman previously deferred his salary after coming back from the NFL and taking much less to play in Sask.. Money that was promised but never paid.

  40. So in the last 5 years, which newbie player cut in training camp by the Bombers has gone elsewhere and become an impact player?

  41. It’s all going to depend on how healthy Jake is. And if they are finally over the old boys club. or how far over it they are.

  42. I’m hopeful. There’s a lot of guys on D that I would like to see them keep around and I’m hoping we don’t just hand the spot over to the second-year guy because they’re a “veteran” (see: Tyrique McGhee) when there are better options in the rookie class (see: Marquise Bridges) Between Bridges, D’Abreu, Thomas, Moses and a few other guys, I see a lot of talent on the recruiting class on D this year and I hope it sticks around

Fair points on Barriere. I was definitely on the cut-him-train. But I think it's more reasonable to think that we should keep a QB on the PR and potentially not give up on a guy that seems to have a lot of special skills and just takes longer to learn the game.

  46. agree....just sucks because of them...we didnt win 4 in a row....I put part of that blame on the players too as some didnt show up when it counts....but also wonder if some of that was due to not totally preparing them and psyching them up, as we let the room control the room and the staff was too comfortable in the fact that they didnt think they had to go above and beyond to prepare....you always still gotta shake the tree and peel some paint...regardless how vet the squad is...or what the cukture is

  47. I don't ignore our success...don't get me wrong...winning is always nice....fun....but the end goal is a championship...bar none and any season not securing that is failure....and losing some for totally avoidable reasons is not acceptable and accountability needs to be addressed....call me old schoiol but the 90's isn't evennthat old school to be honest. I do not know one player who has ever been satisfied not winning th championship...nor know any who just "wanted to get to playoffs" hence my criticism and calling things out...just how I wired
