  2. Here I’ll help with morale. We’re the Blue Bombers. Imagine being any other team. Yuck.

  5. Those guys and I think Devin Adams are the ones I’m most excited to see. Wondering if Sy Barnett shows anything as a late camp add who didn’t play game 1 also.

  8. I expect to seefor week 1 Lawson..Biggie..Parker on the 6 game...BA likely on a perpetual 1 game for a bit, and likely another vet....Hopefully Thomas if our import rookies make it too hard to sit one not named Fox and Schmeck show's he can compete against the Cgy starters with a high dose of reps as the rotational guy to spell one of them off. Curious to see what Samson shows too...whom I think has a higher ceiling

  10. good question,,,the system sure didnt do him any favours in Sask....mind you the talent around him was sub par too Another question is what would the VAJ have looked like bhind our line...with a actual run game...and our receivers?? 2022 he couldn't move...plant...or throw on run and after firat quarter should have been parked....in 2023 he had 2 reciever who had zero explosion or ability to make any move (Schoen and Bailey) and another in Demski who was maybe 80 percent and serviceable....serviceable if youhad 4 other guys who were impactful. I hope this yr we can see him in playoffs as healthy as healthy can be now we have Strev here as I think the team will be more apt to put him in to close out games...or jump start us if we are stagnant than they were with Brown....and keep him from taking as many shots, and being more fresh

  12. https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/05/29/48-hour-primer-preseason-2/ i honestly can’t imagine this being less informative … it feels like a real deliberate thing the Bombers are doing to provide as little information about camp as possible at this rate. If it’s on purpose for gamesmanship, ok I can respect it but it sure sucks as a fan ”here’s your primer for the final preseason game: Collaros will not play, Demski likes to practice and we’ve had some injuries in camp”

  13. Man zero reps with live bullets for Collaros and the O-1s seems like a recipe for a shitty game 1 June 6th .... All kinds of rusty.

  17. Also if we are truly trying to evaluate receivers when the bullets are flying, are we giving them a fair shake with QB3 and 4 throwing to them?

  18. It would be completely fine if they pulled the random interviews with people not even involved with the draft along with the 15 minutes of dead air at the start. Start the clock on the 1st overall pick 5 minutes before they go to air.

  19. The decision making from our staff just continues to be baffling. We are on pace to finish training camp without our starting week 1 offence having ever worked together even once. I don’t know if it’s ignorance or arrogance or what, but it’s frustrating

  21. A preseason...home game you have zero roster restrictions so point being made is there no excuse for a vet..who is a defacto starter to get even a few snaps...but that being said some vets have seen zero...and are they being gifted spots again and this group of talent brought in is just basically filling a roster in preseason as you have to basically with no shot at all. Is a Thomas...Gauthier...Alexander...even Biggie just awarded their spot...cause they been here? Have we had an in game comparison against the same players to compare? Swapping reps? Nope...so how can you truly evaluate...u can't. And the guys in this game vying for the receiver spot...playing with 2 raw rookies..behind a makeshift online...against 3/4's of Calgary's starters...how do you make a legit assessment there? Again you can't...sure you can see some things in practice and in 7 on 7's but it's not the same as a game...and some guys aren't practice phenoms but light it up when lights come on..whereas some are practice Allstars but it just doesn't translate in a game Only guy who can really flip the script is the running back if he can go off and make plays and churn out the yards behind a raw and newbie laden online I'm excited tho for the front 7 and if they produce...set the tone and eat up their competition you would think it bodes well for a Fox and say Adam's interior combo...and Moses and Petrishan being rostered...we can go all import front 7 easily and if these guys show well against the CGY starters why would you not go with them...some these guys already have vs sask starters as well

  23. The narrative hasn’t changed at all, you (and others) just continually fail to grasp what my frustration has been about. I want to see these players get an apples to apples evaluation and be in a legitimate competition for a spot that *can* be won. There are several indicators that suggest this is not happening. Reps are not all equal. At this point, all things we are able to see suggest there is a very real and open competition for the last receiver spot in our starting lineup. I do wholeheartedly believe that and I don’t see anything to suggest why I shouldn’t. With that said, we still have what, eight or nine contenders and none of them are going to get a final opportunity to show their stuff with a QB with any level of experience? As I said earlier, it’s kind of a pick your poison spot - either the decision has been made and we’re keeping a lot of these guys around as a waste of time or the decision hasn’t been made and it appears that we’re not putting ourselves in the best possible position to make it. Then on defence, what are we doing? Is the MLB spot actually open or has it been given to Gauthier? I addressed that one earlier and I stand by what I said there. The other one that irritates me is safety. “can’t make the club from the tub” used to mean something, but it apparently doesn’t to BA. I’m glad these guys are getting some opportunities, I’m just not convinced they’re the best opportunities possible.

  25. The guy had a QBR of 112.8 last year. He had virtually identical stat lines to 2022 and better than his first MOP win in 2021. What part of that screams inconsistent? Did he have a couple down games after he was injured? Yep...but for the most part he was same old Zac. Agreed. Forums would be pretty boring if everyone agreed, and then it would likely attract the contrarians which is more annoying than any debate I've seen around here lately.

  28. I'm actually hoping Strevs reps is not just a result of ZC struggling but more incorporating some creative 2QB schemes (not just short yardage) while driving the ball down the field. Put the D on it's heels from it's toes so to speak.

  29. Collaros being the top qb is a damning indictment of the quality of quarterback play in the cfl. Guy was inconsistent last year. I think having streveler to take some meaningful reps in a game will help change things up if collaros gets into a funk.

  30. not denying he wasn't...the stats for most prt had him atop most the categories...tho last yr too was a case of being the tallest short kid...or the smartest dumn kid too.....so there is that...I want him and nobody else as our starter and we in fine shape there...the only other guy I would have wanted other than ZC is a guy we signed as his backup...so we good!

  31. yeah....I have zero worries of the offence....we will put up points, and we will grind teams out...I more curious as to what the defence loks like...and with Yunger running it...we may actually get a influx of new blood as he will def run a more aggressive and attacking unit

  32. You surely have to admit he was feast or famine last year, and sure wasn’t feast mode in the playoffs.
    2 points
  33. Haha .. with the offense they are trotting out onto the field, the defence is going to have all the reps they can handle.

  34. This is where more in-depth camp coverage would come in handy. I'd be more enthusiastic about seeing some of these guys if I knew more about them or thought there was a chance they're part of the clubs future. As it sits, I don't expect the vast majority of these guys to be here next week,

  35. Her's a scenario...Tre Thomas or Petrishen earns the WIL spot...and Wilson with his experience slides to MLB....Moses DI'd and allowed to be eased in...I can see that also....would welcome it too....and we do well and Biggie "needs" another 6 games

  36. Nobody knows who is starting and who isn’t. Lots of people assume things on here based on what they want but last I checked, everyone on here is just a fan regardless of your background. We don’t know it all as much as some like to think.

  37. Zach didn't exactly light it up down the stretch last season. In fact, I'd say he played himself out of MOP consideration. You couple that with poor performances in the playoffs and I'm of the mind that I'd like to see him get a bit of work.

  38. If I wasn't so starved for football and curious about what a few of these guys look like in person, I wouldn't be going. I also imagine that if this gets out of hand, I'll be leaving early.

  39. This is it to me, we can‘t just ride the middle like this. If you have 8-10 receivers still here fighting for spots, are you going to get a reasonably fair evaluation of them if they’re playing exclusively with brand new quarterbacks? And if you don’t need this evaluation to make your decision, why are so many of them still here then? It seems like the defensive side of the ball has a few more decisions that have been made but I still have more questions than ever with regards to what our D looks like week 1. The big question mark I have is at MLB … if Shayne Gauthier starts there week 1 and doesn’t have to do anything in the preseason to prove he’s earned it, I’d say we’ve officially jumped the shark. If Moses/Petrishen are genuinely competing for the role, okay great let’s go. If Kyrie is the answer at MLB while Bighill is out and they’re sliding a new guy over to play WIL, why isn’t Kyrie getting the reps?

  40. I think this is sort of a naive take. If what you’re saying is true, why do they participate in camp at all? Save the reps for the young guys.

  41. This is probably the camp with the most wide open competition of any in recent memory and I don't have the faintest idea who is even in the hunt for any of the spots. You want to read the articles in the papers a day early? Watch the O'Shea press conference. There will be literally no information outside of what is provided there. It is super disappointing. The mainstream media should be embarrassed, but what the hell is even the point of 3downnation if all they are going to do is reprint press releases?
    2 points
  42. yeh pretty weak article no mention who is the front runners for anything...who needs to show well...who may be safe.....I could have wrote a better primer from where I am and seeing 2 days of camp I still just cringe at the comment returning stalwarts/core and Tait always tossing Thomas in there...Is he told to?...Is that what he gleens from practice?.....or is it his personal opinion...and if so it's a weak one

  46. Best draft for cfl might be going live to all the teams to make the picks. But doing it like super quick. Maybe after rd 1 we get a 10 minute breakdown of the 1 st rd picks then rapid fire the rest in 45 minutes. They all have lists. It doesn’t take 5 minutes to scratch guys names off
