  1. I thought it improved tremendously once I muted it. 😂

  2. I think Bighill will be really easy to move on from and honestly will probably be a matter of the defensive coaches being less comfortable using him. Like last season it was pretty clear he was 4 yards away from the guy he needed to be 2 yards away from on pass plays and he was always tipping his blitzes because he couldn't get to the gap fast enough off the ball. When that gets even a slight bit worse he will be unplayable. The guys on the line are a little tougher. Like Hardrick last season. You could still see the little spark on runs but his pass pro was awful...but the spark was there and he'd truck guys if he moved his feet. I worry a lot about Jefferson without Jeffcoat....and our overall pass rush. To me Jefferson has basically lost all burst off the line the past couple years. He wants to stand up, look around and decide if he can chase someone. He's long so he can be disruptive in that way but if I'm an OT he's a pretty easy night these days. Not sure he'll be too active if the guy on the other side isn't in the backfield all night.

  3. Dane Evans still wakes up at night in a cold sweat thinking about what that 2019 defense and what they did to him.

  7. Should be a rule. If you start a game day thread and the team loses (pre or regular season and playoffs) you can’t start another one. Cuz I’m looking at this topic here and it’s 940am and it says it was started 10 hours ago aka yesterday aka not game day.

  8. Jefferson's game hasn't eroded at all...and I see him thriving if we have a solid active interior, and 2 other ends who will require attention...which he hasnt had the luxury of the last 2 yrs...and got worn down in games, and yes had to take some plays off and just look to bat a pass down...DE is a tough spot to play balls out for all your snaps if you don't get sufficient rotation rest...and I have said since last yr garbutt by what I saw was the best of the DE's other than WJ....so we in good hands with the 2 young ends The ace in hole is I think Younger...and how he will deploy the back end guys, and use them in blitz and scheme...whereas they are actually seeking and destroyng as opposed to just gumming up a blocker....it's gonna free up or dline to make more play....very encouraged from the small snippets I seen and some stuff I picked up on at TC.....I quite sure WJ will be our MODP candidate again and it will be a unanimus pick

  11. Part of me does genuinely believe Bighill may be finished as a player. Nice little chunk of change to use towards the 2025 cap if he happens to not suit up this year.

  12. He’s a neck roll type. We don’t draft soft ol either. From what I saw in the first pre season game he’s above average nasty for our current ol. Plays like a bigger more athletic desjarlais.

  13. Agreed. Jefferson's apparent decline, in my view was the lack of complimentary play by not only his linemates, but also the linebackers. We now know that Lawson is done until after Labour Day, and maybe longer. This unwelcome development forced the Bomber coaches to step up and deal with it now instead of kicking it down the road.

  18. thats what I like...if guys like him...Fox..Adams...eat em up...and Moses/Gemmel/Petrishen show well and make some impactfull plays...and based on all them save for Adams who hasn't played showing well then in 2 games...and against a lot of teams starters....how can they be sent packing?....make it hard on Osh so he just cant fall back on his old relieables....

  21. He was never the same after that game....and he had had a huge year during the regular season. I really think Hamilton walked into that game thinking that it was going to be a no-brainer easy win for them...boy were they wrong.

  22. There was a stat I read about WJ’s stats when Jeffcoat was in vs when Jeffcoat was out… basically if the Bombers have two good DEs, you aren’t blocking both of them, and good luck picking which one.

  23. With Wilson I'd like to see more progression from game 1 and if he looks even more comfortable...he settled in nicely as game went on, so hopefully the last week or so of practice really helped him along...Intruiged what Grainger will do with only 5 days here...he has a primo tool kit to work with tho....2 nice prospects none the less Smith I hope locks up that returner job and utility piece for the offence, as well as shows well that he can be a change of pace back...something we been really lacking....I said all along I expect him to impress and be on the roster the day we signed him...so this is his chance to prove it...Rosery is interesting...I can see him being turned into a Demski clone, and I like that prospect... The defence is where I am most interested...Does Adams make the case that 2 import DT's can't be ignored? I think he just may, and Woods as well is no slouch either....Wanna see what River's does with a heavier workload and make a case to be on the PR at minimum....and develop further as I assume Haba and garbutt must be locks for the game day roster barring injury....depending how we allocate our imports technicallly neither need to be a DI The real litmus test, and in my opinion huge decison is the linebackers...I am 100 percent certain Wilson will be one the starters...and 2 yrs removed from achilles should be back to being total Wilson...But who's in the middle....Gauthier is a nice depth piece but time to turn the page and let a new guy grow into it...we have 3 guys who are more than capable with a veteran laden unit we will be putting out there, and there is a good chance we cah dress 2 of Moses/Petrishen/Gemmel...so the time is now. Tre Thomas also deserves a hard serious look....He would be perfect in the role Cole occupied as a DI....

  24. It's a reason why I tend to favour a guy like Garbutt over Haba at the other end; he's a more complete, physical player .. in a vein similar to Jeffcoat in that he is responsible / disruptive on both rushing and passing downs. With that said, we may see more out of WJ if we establish a dominant presence inside. I have hope for some of the new guys and what they might do to free up our ends.

  26. Did they take any pictures where you can actually see the uniform?

  27. Yup...agreed...time for him to transition like Miller...and if we need him in a pinch the last quarter of the season I sure we could milk 4 games outta him and playoffs with fresh legs...where he could make an impact playing balls out I think petrishen rotating with Wilson and Moses in middle..along side the human missile Cole in varying schemes and formations would be a killer collection...especially with a really active import DT and 2 athletic ends beside WJ rotating in...a second import DT spelled off by a Canadian not named Thomas would give us an elite front 7...and very tough to handle

  28. I thought the club should have not brought him back this year and moved on. However unless injury prevents him from suiting up, I don't see MOS not starting him.

  29. Does anyone get the feeling bighill might be done as an active player? Both Moses and petrishian really stood out last game and both seem to fit. Hopefully the young guys get a legit shot. Those 2 along with the new DT are definitely interesting players who seem to fit the cfl game. Will be pissed if we end up releasing a bunch of these good young players.

  30. Practicing inside before the Grey Cup in Calgary?? That's nutty behavior. Evans was awful in 2019, and in 2021 he wasn't any better. The best thing that happened to Hamilton that game was him getting injured.

  32. Yeah but once I heard they had done that all year it kinda lost the "**** YOU" aspect of it. lol Bombers broke Bo and Dane that year. Neither were ever the same.

  33. It’s just bad reporting overall, the context behind this situation makes it all seem very reasonable. Richmond had job opportunities in the US and to make it worth his while to stay, he needed to be at a certain pay tier. Everyone involved handled this properly, it just didn’t work out.

  34. That and the practising of the “victory formation” that loss looked good on them.

  38. Pretty much. And one is out of position. I think it is a good chance for Wilson to take another step forward like booch said. I'd love to see him do a better job of progressing from his pre snap read, picking up the blitz and moving the pocket or ball quickly to beat it. I'd also love to see a bit more of him using his legs. Liked what he showed in game one, hope he can build off it. Like every one is saying, I'm very much looking forward to seeing what the D brings. Mcghee and Ford seem locked in on the corner spots, Like to see more of them. Seeing what kelly can do at S in some extended reps. The Imp Lbers is the juiciest, who will separate them self? They all looked good last week, but don't have near as much DL talent in front of them this week. Some one is gonna grab a starting job this week. Schmekel can he continue to grow in this big step forward and be a legit rotational piece for us? Samson I thought would be head and shoudlers above schemkel but he's gotta play his way on to the PR imo. Adams, I want to see lots of snaps, and at multiple alignments including some DE. Guy is such a freak athlete if he has a half decent head on his shoulders I'd keep him on the PR at the least for sure. But he could make a big case for carrying 2 imp DTs, and I hope he does. Dobson looked real good at both G and C last week. I look forward to seeing him get a bunch more snaps at C. Wallace was the best interior OL we had last week, super excited to see if he can keep it going. Lofton, hopefully he isn't tipping, and improves when it comes to handling speed. He looked fine when some one tried to bull rush him. Coleman at LT I thought had the best chance to beat out lofton, didn't shine last week be great if he did this week. Really need one of the imp OL to step up this week even if lofton is locked in at RT, we need a back up or two. Smith at RB and KR, I hope he gets lots of touches. Could be a super sub and KR as a DI which would add even more depth to an incredible offense. Clercius and MCI, one starting and should get a decent amount of reps hopefully mci gets some decent time to carry the ball and block.

  40. Agree with all that. yep. I think the drop off and inconsistency we see from wj, is largely not having a strong pass rusher or even consistent guy across from him, having a force inside that demands a double/can push the pocket, and that when he’s the only decent dl on the AR he ends up playing way too many snaps. He’s a guy who really needs his snaps and assignments managed. When he’s on too much he tends to coast backwards to play for knock downs too much especially when tired. With the depth of de and the imp dts we have I’m optimistic that will all improve.

  42. I completely agree that WJ's game hasn't fallen off, I simply don't feel we've gotten the most out of him the last couple of seasons because a) we've had a group of duds playing on the interior of the line b) haven't had a regular guy who can stand up on the other end c) he's played way too many snaps. He's best, and most disruptive, when the opposition has to account for another body on the line and he can stay fresh.

  43. I’ve been looking forward to seeing what Chris Smith can do, a number on here were happy he was signed. He seems like the returner candidate that could add the most value to the offence as a DI.

  44. For real those are so bad. Looks like a monster energy drink or an original Xbox loading screen was the theme. Also companies should be fined big time for making football pants with no side stripes. I hope the Bombers don’t come out with crap like this, those hockey jersey alts were bad enough.

  47. To play devil's advocate here... I'd suggest that the coaches already know exactly what those players can do in the league so what's a few snaps in preseason going to tell them that they don't already know? I think decisions about MLB and safety are already pretty settled. Either a incumbent it taking the job or they know a new face can step up and claim it. No side by aide comparison needed.

  49. Collaros being the top qb is a damning indictment of the quality of quarterback play in the cfl. Guy was inconsistent last year. I think having streveler to take some meaningful reps in a game will help change things up if collaros gets into a funk.
