  1. there were a few of us who said it. Now I think most of tonight was squarely on not playing in preseason for most of the offensive starters, but yeah Collaros has seen some really concerning aspects creep into his game last season and tonight. We got Streveler for a reason, use him if collaros is sucking the hind teet

  2. This game is 100 percent on O’Shea

  3. Hubris is exactly the word for that one. Years of "player x doesnt need to practice" "player y is a pro, he doesnt need reps in the pre-season" "we dont need to use that rule, and we can start 8-9-10 canadians because we're so great" has finally come home to roost...hard. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end, but its starting to look like "just one more year" of running it back without any competition or contingency for the aging out of veterans has finally come back to bite us. It could be a long season - I hope I'm wrong, but I'm worried.

  4. Seriously worried that we kept the wrong QB. I'm debating whether this is the worst game I've seen in this stadium. It's this or vs Argos Frito Ray 2014 for worst game I've personally seen at Fort Hew.

  5. Kudos to the Als. They've played a great and disciplined game, and their coaching has been really good as well, making ours look very bad.

  6. Just dropped in to say this offensive performance is brought to you today by a coach’s hubris. What a **** show.

  7. Making the game worse for stats reason while not even being able to generate stats properly. Good job cfl

  8. Unfortunately, the Bombers played their last pre-season game in a game that actually mattered. What is Buck trying to do out there? I am confused with this offense and have been for a couple of years. Why can't we take advantage of having such elite playmakers out there?

  9. They were 100% attacking zone at some points. On several plays that went for first downs Ford just dropped into his deep third and watched the rest of the play happen in front of him. We don't know what their keys are, but I assume they don't want guys to drop right out like that when the route from the slot is in breaking in a 3 man route. At that point in any Cover 3 I've been a part of the corner is reading deep outside breaking route (none) and down to the wideout, not keep giving up depth for no reason. The half has to cover that route to the safety and the SAM would trail the inside slot/tight end either way. It was basically a free first down once they ran it a couple times and realized Ford was lost. Then they just played with his eyes all night, short and deep. Get him worried about smoke screens, run the setup to give that look and go over top of him. Hopefully comes back with lessons learned from this experience because he hasn't played much actual football since he left U Sports.

  10. I think he's let a group take over for sure. There's kind of a "do no wrong" crew. I think it was ok when they were at their peak and could self-regulate with the right voices. We've lost a lot of those voices though. Personalities like Lawler and Jefferson aren't fit to be those guys, can't lead by example so their words are pretty hollow when the cards are on the table. I agree that there's quite a mess they'll have to manage pretty quick. O'Shea wants the players to run the room but this group needs more from him until they are (maybe) ready for that. Didn't help having 96 guys in camp as of 6 days ago either. This team needs to find an identity and mesh. They've had two practices.

  11. I fear this regression is what we're going to be stuck with -- that we caught lightning in a bottle for a few seasons but that wore off. He's no threat with his legs, doesn't have a quick release, and now his accuracy is shot. Something needs to improve or we're hooped. Yeah me too. I think Brown is / is going to be the real deal.

  12. Not panic no. But if I was Walter’s I might release one of mos crutch guys.

  13. Not time to panic...only first game...but not a good start...and reasons for possibly coming out poorly were mentioned...many didn't wanna believe it...and some of the same ol daddy's favorites look to still be an issue...

  15. If the Bombers want to figure out how to use the Designated American they should look at Calgary's depth chart this week. There's absolutely no reason to not use this. Even if you don't plan on using it to the limit you increase your flexibility in case of injury(ies) immensely.

  16. Maybe the Als kicker missed both kicks but the microchip corrected the kick.

  17. Yep. Last night sucked. Worried? Not particularly. As last night was drawing to a close I kept thinking of last season's home game in July against BC. Took it on the chin pretty good that night, didn't we? We have a veteran team, the best coaching staff in the league. They turned it around after that game, and they'll turn it around after this one. Looking forward to next week against Ottawa. Get the boys on the road, away from the noise and get the freight train back on track.

  18. Unprepared Poor execution Questionable coaching Turnovers Bad special teams Yes, a grand evening for the big crowd at home.....playing the team that took away another cup win. One thing to lose...but to look that inept, especially on a vet filled O....is inexcusable.

  19. Seriously? Haba was causing problems for the als all night... he was really good, hands up high penalty aside he was one of the brightest spots on the team.

  20. For all the hand wringing on the depth chart.... Wilson played MLB. Gauthier barely played D. Wilson was godawful and got burned by Fajardo scrambles multiple times. A couple times it was hard to understand what he saw but I have to believe he was worried about abandoning coverage to track Fajardo...but at least a couple time Fajardo was already over the line. Karamoko took the most snaps at WIL....the guy listed as 3rd on the depth chart. Cole took some at both WIL and SAM, played about 3/4 snaps. Almost half of Fajardo's of passes were targeted at Ford. So Montreal really liked that matchup. Which is not a typical one to attack with a pop gun arm QB to the field. And almost half of their total offense and two TD's came from those targets. Expect that to be attacked by everyone until there's a change or Ford turns it around. Athleticism counts for nil if you're watching the ball/covering turf and standing on flat feet.

  21. For a team that made it their calling card for so long, they’ve been lacking in preparedness pretty consistently in recent times

  22. Season opener, at home against the team that broke your hearts in the Grey Cup and the coach admits they weren't prepared? Alarm bells...

  24. we get a half decent offensive performance...we win that game....Defense has the horses....just get the right ones out of the stable Kudo's to Osh for actually admitting he screwed up....Light bulb moment?....we shall see Our D-line rotation is gonna be legit...and a strong point...If we can get Bennett signed as a Canadian rotation....less to no Jake only makes us stronger....and Ford is gonna be fine...Bonds looks legit....Cole....nothing needs to be said there and Wilson was solid but like some other vets...didnt have his sea legs....part of the Osh oopsie... I concerned with ZC tho...rust and NOT being in game speed mode didn't help and was apparent, but also seeing some the same stuff we have seen last year already that makes me wonder if he has regressed, as these "off" games happen with too much regularity now....Hope to see in coming games some Strev looks running the actual offense too...and running if/when things break down....instances now where with ZC he seems to go in panic mode almost...and either force things for a pick...miss a guy badly or just get sacked. BO also was not game ready and had no explosion or stamina....another coaching oversight in my opinion not involving JA more.... I still hate our punter and if we need him to actually kick us out of trouble I don't think he can, and Mitchell is not the return answer...Hopefully Smith is healthy sooner than later, plus he will be a nice piece on offence all is not lost if the right things are done....next week will be interesting, and imagine what this place will be like if Dru out plays ZC ...and badly.....I think if we have games where we get that ZC it should be a quick hook and let Strev actually play QB....

  43. Lots of mistakes and it's only a 9 point game at half...wheeew...now our offence needs to get in sync and get going...honestly the defence has looked pretty good. Can't sugar coat it Zach was terrible, and our special teams pretty craptastic also...

  44. The stuff is still working, it’s just collaros is playing really bad. Not picking up blitz, holding it, missing low and short constantly. If he was putting it where we need we have atleast two tds easy.
