  1. If they win you'll have to start the GDT every time and I'll expect a depth chart included

  2. Well...I will take this one on this week....Hope for some changes on how we manage a game...some positive roster moves...is this the start of a win streak?

  5. Use this pic instead. We're only guaranteed 9 meaningful home games a year. Game one was trash, so let's hope they turn it around tonight. 30k+ is lot of people to disappoint.

  6. Going to be a great night for football. I hope to see some Adams on Adams violence tonight.

  8. I just want to see the offense put together some honest to God drives.

  9. O'Shea also said they're gonna use Brady today. I suspect he'll end up playing the majority of snaps, regardless of who is listed as starter. Hoping we also get the ball in Chris Smith's hands on offence, at least a couple time.

  10. they do....and asked why we dont use the Nationalized rule...and other things...I think Osh got word from above to start using it...especially with our injury issues

  11. I half expected a wide-open receiver drop followed by a DD celebration.

  12. Although, if he is, things are not going his way. But, the league basically ignored the violent incident, so he can do it again with impunity.

  16. 100% he did. He recently acknowledged that his current off-season routine is too much and he's going to tone it down going forward.

  21. That's why you try and start ALL the rookies in one game. @Booch - this needs to be added in the initial post. Perfect template from @JCon

  22. That was inexcusably poor in-game officiating, and a double down by the league in not bringing the hammer down. One of the most egregious UR’s I’ve ever seen. I still remember when he called the secondary “The Sisters of the Poor” in a postgame Couldn’t find it, but there’s another treasure of a halftime interview at 1:04:30

  23. He’s not wrong, but if he had a hammy and now a knee, if he ain’t 100% he should sit. In week 3, that’s the correct move by the coaches imo. Maybe Osh learned something from trotting out a field hospital in the Grey Cup.

  25. We are actually kinda using the nationalized American rule on this week's roster. We have dressed 20 Canadians, 20 Americans, 3 QB and 2 Globals... that means one of the Americans must be a Nationalized American and counts as a Canadian (roster rules dictate minimum 21 Canadians, optionally including one Nationalized American). That could be Stanley Bryant, WJ, Bighill, BA or Kyrie Wilson.

  26. Better be playing for some pride in this game as well. Don't want to dig such a deep hole they can't get out of it. Also how about playing a full 4 quarters this game as well.

  27. Coaches bias....plain and simple And some of Kolos calls are pretty clear wrong...and I sure Eli is more than capable in picking things up...especially after 3 yrs now. I don't use PPF as any means as a basis for an assessment of any player position...nor does any talent evaluation person..and he's not hurt or injured...he's basically stuck behind the offensive equivalent of Thomas...teachers pet...daddy's favorite...whatever you wanna call it. Kolo is technically awful...isn't good post anything but the initial block..and even then is continually over powered...and is undersized...and only time you like that in a center is when they are more athletic and able to move quicker...which he is not..Eli is probably our most athletic lineman we have buy you would never know it as he doesn't get to show it..but you can see it on jumbo and short yardage plays if you actually watch him

  28. First time this season I'm excited about the bombers game. Got a good feeling about tonight. Let's see some bully ball tonight. LFG!

  29. However, commissioner Randy Ambrosie said in a statement that the issue would be revisited in 2025, citing “no definitive evidence to suggest their use impacts performance in any manner.” This seems like the easiest possible thing to test.

  30. It would be nice to get a couple of breaks to start the game or start with some big plays on either side of the ball.

  31. If they win tonight, Aug 1 should be a good one too. Lions are usually the second best draw after Sask.

  32. Absolutely. That was the one year I (kind of) gave up on them. Meant to say I only went to, not watched 2 games that season. I watched them all, I only attended the Banjo Bowl and the thanksgiving game where Milt had 4 TDs. I was still sour when they lost, even though we all knew the year was a write-off. Like I was saying before 01-11ish was the peak of my obsessive fandom. 06-11 in particular I lived and (mostly) died with it. The 2011 year made me realize I needed to dial back the emotional investment for my own good. I made an idiot of myself in front of family, having a drunken tantrum during the LDC.

  34. Jeffcoat was good at getting in VA's face and very disciplined maintaining his position so he couldn't escape the pocket. I'm super certain Garbutt, Haba, Fayad will be much better than old man Jeffcoat ever was.

  36. My question is whether he is actually mad, or was the reporter, Billeck, asking very leading questions so that the answers could be interpreted that way. It wouldn't be the first time a reporter wanted to stir up a controversy, so they asked those types of leading questions and then framed the article in such a way as to make it look much worse than it really is.

  39. Nichols and Alford panned out pretty well....but I agree...could be some bumps along the way...I don't like that Ritchie analogy tho...Love Coach to death...but if you can play...you can play My concern is and still will be center....but one change at a time I guess..we have Smith on and hopefully Mitchell never to be seen back there again...Up next Center....then put the Thomas at 80% rep use out to pasture
    3 points
  40. Ritchie did say something to that effect (not sure the exact wording) but ironic part is that it was his holding onto vets too long that cost him wins and ultimately his job. Rookies have to get playing time at some point. I'd rather it be now, early in the season, then later on in the season (or in the play-offs). I do expect Adams to target Bonds/Bridges early & often - we'll see if they're up to the task. They did have some communication issues when Bridges got thrown into the Ottawa game after Nichols went down so hopefully they worked on that with a full week of practice together.

  42. It's worth bearing in mind that before covid he was ahead of gray on the depth chart... and gray started for this team. That's one reason. The other is that when he does in come for plays he is a body mover.

  43. He's for sure a mauler when he comes in on heavy packages. He also oozes potential and has for years... he had consistently high PFF scores in college which firmly landed him on the Rimington Trophy watchlist for 2 years running before his career was derailed by a knee injury. Ironically, many posters here can't stand PFF, but some of those same posters will gladly point to Eli's Rimington nod as irrefutable evidence of his skill (even though Rimington watchlists are basically just the top 40 PFF scores). All that said, at least in in my eyes, Kola has set the bar between "average-at-best" and "not very good". Surely Eli could hurdle that bar... and if not, why did we sign to to a 3 year deal back in 2023? Eli should get the chance to finally show what he can do in a starter's role.
    3 points
  44. Nope, that’s a false equivalency. because the Rimington isn’t based by any means solely on pff type stats. The Rimington was designed by a great linemen to fill the gap for centres. He was the top ranked centre going into the year for two years till his injury. Centres are one of the hard positions to rate on paper but one of the easier ones to rate by watching.

  45. Because it wasn’t. Pig pucky call I currently hate them but yeah, that’s a damn good defence.

  46. Pretty sure Eli can snap just fine..been doing it at a high level...forever Guys pegged to go in the top 2..3 rounds of NFL draft...possibly 1st as a center don't have snap issues
    2 points
  47. Eli was one of the best centres in all of d1. He was a legit first round nfl prospect. Dobson is fully competent in snapping. Also, the pistol is heavily used which is not terrible demanding on the centre for snapping.
