  2. Real bummer for Hardrick, that is a big loss for the Riders. I wish him a full and healthy recovery!

  6. Going to be home for the Aug 1 BC game... Would love to see Lawler back in action... We sure could use him.

  7. He’s a great DC (I’ll give him that) but a terrible head coach, GMand a generally shitty person.

  8. YEAH...To me that seems like a season ender...and with that frame and weightt...age...be a hard thing to come back from in general...he gonna have to be really diligent about his diet too being immobile for an extended period

  9. Glad Yoshi got paid. The statement kind of feels like last year and the Riders with Harris, where after his Radial Tibial fracture they made it seem like he could be back at the end of the year... but at the end of the day there probably isn't a lot of optimistic data about a 300+ LB OL who is 34 coming back within 15 weeks from a Quad Injury that requires surgery. If it's a quad tear that is generally a 4-5 month injury.

  10. Yoshi's son's birthday is today, and on his Instagram it looks like he took him to the stadium. Wearing a knee brace, but no crutches, full weight bearing, moving around ok. Might've avoided a disaster here, fingers crossed for him.

  12. And Lawson was expected to be "the guy" this year. Not Thomas.

  14. For shits and gigs, here’s my ideal Defence lineup when everyone’s healthy. Bonds-Nichols-Holm-Griffen-Ford Cole-Wilson-Parker (Kramdi) Willie-Lawson(Adams)-Woods-Garbutt(Hubert)

  18. It's pretty obvious by just watching who has been whiffing the most....and interestingly enough all 4 are Osh's bois....now do we see something done about it?...a team looking to be beter definately would Wilson has been playing great the last 2 games...and really wan't all that bad before that...so really no issues there as he seems to be back to form

  19. I do find it interesting that O'Shea made a point of mentioning missed tackles as an issue after the last two games and Tony Jones is now coming onto the roster. Could he split time with Biggie on D? Probably a long shot but there is something going on there.

  20. As long as he's getting his money, and doesn't have to wear that gross uni, it's a win. Hope he has a speedy recovery and is back to 100% before next season.

  23. With Lawler and Wilson on the field, that BC game should be about 175 - 15 for the Bombers.

  24. plus Bonds is 28 as well....and been around football a while...and it shows in his play...The "needing" all these vets is a lil over blown....the team is chalk full of vets on both sides of the ball and on ST's BA can be serviceable as a nice piece...Thomas and Biggie are easily replaced, and wouldnt be missed really for their contribution on the field...Let Biggie do the Mike Miller thing this yr, and be available in a pinch

  25. I strongly disagree. If we had a young MLB platooning with Bighill, if we had made a switch at safety, if we had replaced Jake, if we had a young lb in Wilson's place, then I'd agree. Much like 2023, we've kept the same old vets and the results are worse than last season. 4 of our offensive linemen are 31 or older. Name a promising young player on our practice roster.

  26. The reality is the struggling vets get all the rope in the world, and the young guys have to work twice as hard and may or maybe not get another chance no matter how well they play. I think it’s absolutely a big mistake to take smith off the active roster..

  27. Thank god. Hopefully that arrogant prick never darkens the door of a CFL team again.

  28. Well, in Winnipeg we don't know whether or not HC/GM are on the same page.

  29. Kramdi hasn't been perfect... but he's 4th in line of players that need to be replaced on this D... Thomas, BA, and Biggie are much bigger concerns than Kramdi

  30. None of these guys hold a candle to having a Biggie or Alexander to learn from both on and maybe more importantly off the field. Look the results haven't been what was hoped for, but the thought process to bring these guys in for leadership is not some big whopping mistake like others here would try to sell. Honestly, just a bunch of piling on of every decision the Bombers make over the past 3 years. I don't mind the valid criticisms at all, or looking at things that didn't work out and critiquing them, but the level some posters here are going to make everything the Bombers management and coaching does appear to be without thought or the result of bias is just plain and simply an agenda. An agenda that has taken over this forum for a couple years now trying to whip people into a frenzy. Look I get the panic of an 0-4 start, but we got guys who have been banging this drum in 15-3 and 14-4 seasons. We all need to step back from the ledge a little. This is not nearly as bad as we are being led to believe. Is it great...nope....do I hope for some changes...yep. The season is still very recoverable, and our management and coaching is near or at the top of the league.

  31. I hope not. IMO, Kramdi isn't fast enough, isn't the greatest of tacklers and may not have the football IQ for that position.

  35. The thing is, especially in professional sport, they need to lead by example on the field and unfortunately where they are at in their careers they are unable to match a lot of their words with their actions and players see that and are influenced by that. It's an unfortunate part of Professional Sport. They now need to take that leadership skill and apply it elsewhere other than playing (if they want of course).

  36. To play devil's advocate just a little here, Biggie, BA, and Thomas are well seasoned vets. They have leadership abilities and experience. Sure they are not as fast/strong/agile as they were at least Biggie and BA. Taking one two or all out takes some of that away, and we already have a lot of inexperience on defence already. Those guys have been there seen that and have the shirt.... Let's see how it goes, but...... Along the d-line some young guys are getting great reps and experience.....hopefully at some point as guys get healthier and a bit more seasoned, Jake takes a few less reps and the new guys take a few steps forward...this would be best to get guys some seasoning and get them up to game speed and ready to transition into bigger roles In the backend BA hasn't seem to get back to full form from injuries, but we seem to have some really good young guys.... as guys get healthy perhaps a young guy can share some reps at safety, we seem to have enough talent Biggie is the toughest for me, however we did bring on Jones for this week, maybe just maybe we will start to see a bit or rotation with Biggie...I am just not sure if we let MLB slip a bit too long already to be doing this Definitely some assumptions above but if you step back and look at it like this perhaps they do have a plan, it's just playing the long game.....

Thanks for uploading that video. My wife and I took our two sons, 11 and 8 at the time, to the game and they're still avid Bomber fans (still talk about that game) even though one has lived in Calgary for the past 15 years.

  40. Makes sense. They need a back up receiver on the roster. Would still have liked to see Smith get a few reps on O.

  42. WTF are we doing with this team? Like, seriously, WT actual F?
    2 points
  43. All of this. Smith was averaging 11 yards per punt return which is very good. His 21 per kick off were kind of average. But he caught the ball and made good decisions. Some times a bit tentative but needed coaching more than any thing imo. case is a former part time return hybrid guy. Maybe lucky will come on the roster as well since we removed two offensive guys and they’ll split duties? jones doesn’t make sense when Cole and Ayer’s already aren’t getting a lot of snaps. but roster moves that don’t make sense and make the team worse are on brand

  44. It does make sense to an extent. Kramdi always seems to be in the right spot, im just not sure he’s fast and athletic enough to be great.

  45. Could be a nice matchup if Garbutt is back to full power and ready to go.

  46. 100% healthy Wilson, which he seems to be finally, is capable of shedding blocks and tackling backs one on one in the hole as we saw a few times vs the stamps. He can play Mac easily. Most teams don’t run big lber cores any more.
