  1. The Riders got the ball off the turnover on downs with 53 seconds left and the Bombers had no timeouts. They easily could have taken 3 knees with the last one being at 0:00. They ****** it up. They took the last snap with the clock running at 5 seconds and 16 seconds left on play clock.

  2. I disagree with the premise here. They have been letting guys go when they priced out or got squeezed out by other guys increases, or when they retired. But they kept a lot of the wrong guys. Like put Bailey and Grant on the roster and drop Bighill and Alexander. Drop Alexander two years ago for a rookie when he was already crap and put that money into Casey Sayles. They completely did not take the issue of rush end seriously in camp. Same with receiver. What a pile of trash we had in there. No one ready to play by the time the season started of the 20.

  3. Don't care what MOS says......win or lose, he has always played shut pan with media. What counts now is action - pulling certain guys, right out of the lineup.....and start the retooling now......

  4. Do you think that’s how it works? We lost the game because we are so untalented that those individual decisions now become game-changers. We used to be so talented and capable up and down the roster that those isolated moments become forgettable because we’re already up three scores in the same spot.

  5. This is a wild and gross exaggeration.

  6. Based on what we saw from 2 rookie recievers there should be no excuse for Whitehead to be in for Johnson....and Case...I don't see the reasoning there either...or the potential with a wr in the mold of what we already have in Demski...and what would be Whitehead...I'd have Smith back on and integrate him more into the offence...he is excellent at catching the ball and we tried to make McRae a thing last yr...all yr...whereas Smith has a way better skill set

  7. There is on Reddit. I didn't watch the end of the game so it's my first.time seeing it....meh....not sure what all the fuss is about to be honest.

  8. You should be ashamed of that opinion! The Riders couldn't just Victory Formation it. There were too many seconds left on the clock. It was a cheap shot. It was unnecessary. It was after the game was over. It was after the ball was thrown. It was childish. Knocking a QB into next week after the game is completely over should = A week off for Bighill. The CFL can't afford to lose QB's to stupid hits like that one.

  9. Buck sending Grant up the gut on a run play to get squashed was dumb. Not muzzling Boudreau and his awful teams schemes was dumb. Letting Grant go knowing Miller was going to set special teams right…. extra dumb.

  10. Most of this if not all is already evident but for the record, here goes. The organization has delayed the replacing of players on a graduated basis until we have now reached the point where major surgery is required and that, my friends, will mean wandering in the wilderness for a long time to come. Along the same line of thought, why in hell do we bother to have good players on the sidelines if they are never rotated in? The Bombers could have saved a lot of money, time and effort by not having any backups. Whether its offence or defensive units, when the same player(s) keep screwing up and giving winnable games away, the caring players eventually reach the "f***-it" point and start giving less than their best and this contributes to blowouts and extended losing streaks. There may be something physically wrong with Collaros. Near the end of the first quarter last night after he took a bit of a tumble, I saw him doing a certain stretch motion typical of those with nagging back injuries/pain. Also: if Streveler is injured, why have we not seen the third-string QB? If O'Shea is solely responsible for the on-field decisions, then Walters is not doing his job. If the on-the field decisions are the choices of both Walters and O'Shea, then Wade Miller is not doing his job. If we have not passed the point of no return on this season, we have to be damned close.

The hit isn't really the problem, it's the landing, but **** Saskatchewan. I'm just made bighill can't do **** when it matters.

  18. I can't imagine a situation like there where we wouldn't be taking knees. They got the ball with 53 seconds, no timeouts. The clock was running with 15 seconds on play clock when they snapped it with 5 seconds left. They were either incredibly stupid or being excessive on the last play of the game. There's no way they should have taken that last snap at more than 0:00.

  19. I of opinion that's what u get...he could have slid and went down...took snap and ran to his endzone...many things...he was trying to take a shot to score...and got appropriate consequence....could Biggie have let up a bit...sure....should he have...no...why? If you wanna try and rub salt in the wound you get exactly what he got If it was reversed and we did something stupid like that I'd call us out as well for putting our qb at risk on a pointless play

  20. That's pretty debatable, the Bombers knelt with 6 seconds left just last week

  21. So that's the first time I've seen that, as I too shut it off early..... And the whining about it seems overblown. He shoves him down and then MAYBE rolls up on him with the shoulder. But the way people on here are crying about it, I thought Bighill teed off on him with a missile to the head. This gets a meh from me...

  22. Yeah. I’d agree, for what it’s worth. The ball was snapped with 15 seconds remaining on the play clock and 4 seconds on the game clock. Real easy to have taken a knee had they wanted. .

  23. Eli comes in a lot on heavy sets. Others have noted even in those plays he’s very assertive calling out what he sees. Any potential growing pains that come with switching to Eli at center are far outweighed by his current level, never mind his ceiling.

  24. https://3downnation.com/2024/07/21/opinion-shea-patterson-out-duelling-zach-collaros-should-give-rider-nation-faith-in-quarterback-future/ more mindless vomit from 3dn. Virtually every starting qb each week has out dueled zach.

  26. A huge thanks to Walters & Osh for thinking Janarion Grant was washed up. Thanks for nothing, Boys. Jeff Hamilton on X messaged that the Bombers had the $$$ to sign Grant but chose not to. What a dumb move. As usual, our return game is the worst in the CFL.

  27. It’s the cumulative effect of taking shots he didn’t used to take (here). When you have the mileage ZC has on his body, confidence. An be a fickle thing. Let’s not forget, some of those grabs got Schoen lit up. Dude took a pounding because he went up and got balls that weren’t well placed.

  28. And the Bombers will still turn a small profit this year due to the number of season ticket holders. The organization will actually have to work next season though to sell season tix and Grey Cup tix.

  31. You mean like when he took over for zach mid game with zach game plan and played a better half of football than zach has in 10 months? Or with the jets in the preseason? Or his entire college career? Or the first year here? We’ve pin holed him into this Michael Vick package because it’s got a high floor. Nothing to do with what he’s done or capable of. if you haven’t seen it, you don’t know what to look for and wouldn’t know short of the second coming of Montana. Strevy should be running a passing offence with some rpo plays worked in and a sprinkling of qb runs. Those runs should be built around big plays not squeezing out 5 physical yards.

  32. That's the biggest thing. If a rookie played as bad as bighill has this year he would be gone and never play again... but bighill can never even take a seat on the sidelines. It's beyond a problem now how some guys have no accountability

  33. Good time as any for Walters to flip Collaros back to Pinball in exchange for Arbuckle, freeing up plenty of capital to work with and convincing Pinball he's made a great trade which gives him the option to dump Kelly. Second part don't bother sending Arbuckle a plane ticket, when he inquires send the following response. FIOFO. Kyle

  35. Being a brand new HC from the defensive side Mace may not have that great of a grasp on how to kill off the last few seconds of a game and can't be sure how much help OC Mueller would be. O'Shea was pretty poor with in game decisions those first few years as well and made plenty of mistakes learning the ropes.

  39. Ok, help me out here- on the replay there were no receivers running routes to score, they looked like they were just around the los and blocking.- please correct me if i am wrong.

  40. For all his faults with roster building I still do love the way Osh just totally brushes off Mace there.

  41. Nothing..he freely admits the players and roster are not an issue...more it's focus..discipline and being assignments sound...again tho is that not on the HC to get it right? He's failing us miserably... That would help immensely with qb pressures...better run defwnce...but Osh gonna Osh as we hemorrhage game after game..cause he believes his choices make sense

  42. Starts 10 Canadians.... Eleven if you include the fact that there are two Canadians alternating at the same position at DT. We should be playing 11 Americans on D with Ford the lone Canadian. Maybe 10 with another Canadian in the rotation.

  44. There are some players who absolutely hate to lose, as if it hurts them physically. Brady Oliveira seems like that type. Other guys are joking with the opposition between plays but BO just wants to line up, get going and dish it out. Need more guys who can walk that walk and not just give the same old talk. Finger pointing between teammates is never good but you can see the frustration is boiling up good now.

  45. The most concerning part of being 2-5 isn’t the record itself but it’s actually the fact that it’s due to so much bad play from our veterans. I can get behind a team that’s 2-5 because they’re young, making mistakes and figuring it out and getting better but when it’s not your young players making mistakes but your players that are all on the wrong side of 30 it’s quite discouraging, what’s even worse is I truly don’t think O’Shea sees an issue with his vets. The amount of rope these guys get compared to some of the young players is incredible. It really rubbed me the wrong way how they treated Chris Smith but guys like Collaros, Neufeld, Kolo, Thomas, Biggie, and Alexander can make mistake after mistake without consequences. Things aren’t going to get any better until there’s urgency to be better.

    The Bighill thread

You have a hard time convincing me that not benching him probably cost us a grey cup last year
    1 point
  47. Completely agree. I’ve been saying for a year now that Bombers need to develop a better short to mid range passing game and circumstances this year make it imperative. Our most successful pass play last night was the dump in the flat to Brady. Not going to do much on offence if that’s the best you can do.

  48. They need to employ more of a ball control offense. Looks like there isn't much intention of doing that.

  49. It’s fine if he toes the line to the media and fans. As long as his actions aren’t as mindless. The smug, excuse laden crap after a loss isn’t ok. Some thing like, “the offence didn’t and hasn’t been performing as we expected. To a man I think they’d all agree with that. We will have to go back and review the film, and see why we came up short. We can’t keep playing and under performing like this. If performances don’t improve quickly, we will have to make changes. No one is beyond being accountable no matter what they done here, in the league, nfl or what have you.”
