  1. Pretty impressive for a 2-6 team

  2. Kolo is still at the centre. That' still a problem.

  3. He can't be any worse than what we've been trotting out there so far this year (well .. I'm telling myself that at any rate). A complete aside, I can't remember the last time we were absolutely decimated by injuries like this. If we somehow manage to turn things around over the back half of the year it'll be a testament to this team's perseverance.

  4. Christ...first man up in about 5 spots is barely even worthy of being the next man up

  5. He's athletic and has good movement...I think he will impress....I wish we would do some juggling at center....as just to "see" how it looks.....

  6. Kendall Randolph is a pretty interesting guy. Played for Alabama for 4 years but mostly as tight end and 6th OL. He made 2 starts at left guard in his senior season then went to camp with the Seahawks and got into 3 preseason games at Guard before being released. Seems like a high-ceiling guy but not a lot of experience, we'll see how he looks in prime time.

  7. Two Cdns get hurt and we replace them with Americans because we were starting a million Cdns previously. Has Osh changed? Just need Eli to start over Kolo and we may have a serviceable o-line.

  8. Interesting to see Randolph in at G. By my count we're only starting 8 Canadians.

  9. Kendall Randolph gets first career start at RG Wolitarsky out, Bridges out, McGhee out, Neufeld out Karamoko in, Kelly in, Whitehead in

  10. It turned out as a little of both. A trainer runs on and gives players some water, and there's a ******* with the flow of the Bombers O. But at a point the officials caught their mistake, and they do start to run the clock with the 20-second clock. (Collaros had to point out that the clock and play clock weren't running together and the officials fixed it.

  11. This is a prime example of why stats, in isolation, are meaningless. They don’t tell the story of how many tackles he’s outright missed .. how many times he’s been dragged for extra yardage or run over .. they don’t show the plays he should have made if he was a few steps faster. I don’t think Bighill is the biggest issue on defense and you see that in some of the plays he makes, when he’s instinctual .. short yardage is a perfect example of this .. that said, anyone denying that his overall play has fallen off has their head in the sand. He doesn’t have the range he used to. He’s not as physical as he used to be. He doesn’t shed blocks and flow like he could in years past. He doesn’t react as quickly as he used to in pass coverage. These things matter and it’s why we should be grooming the next guy while Biggie still has some utility. I love Bighill and his leadership can’t be underestimated but time catches us all.

  12. Adding more imports to a struggling OL - makes the Canadians at other positions that much more valuable. ZC played decent last game - hope to see better pass pro going forward. And I'd say it's about time. A good OL has been a hallmark of this management group.

  13. Eli had a bit of a rough go in pass pro, but he was playing out of position and getting his first meaningful reps... Let’s give him a chance. He’s way too good to not find his groove if given a real opportunity.

  15. Honestly PFF's CFL content is much better than anything we get out of the old men and clueless bloggers who cover the CFL in Canada

  16. PFF on the argos offensive line last week. • Left tackle Isiah Cage had a stellar week against the Blue Bombers last week. His 84.4 run-blocking grade was the fourth-highest single-week mark of any offensive lineman in the CFL this season. • The usually uber-reliable Dejon Allen had by far his worst pass-blocking game of the season. Coming into the week, he had not earned a pass-blocking game grade below 77.0. He finished with a 28.4 mark in Week 8. • The left side of the offensive line played solidly in pass protection. Cage (75.5), Hunter (70.3) and Nicastro (78.2) earned 70.0-plus pass-blocking grades on 29 snaps. If i'm reading this correctly Hubert/Garbutt dominated their guy who underperformed his typical level whereas Thomas and Jefferson were dominated. Its somewhat not surprising that Jefferson and Garbutt switched ends on the depth chart. I'm hoping that the easier assignments will have squeeze a little bit more juice out of Jefferson. ---------------------------- I think PFF does a very reasonable job. Its impossible for anyone outside their own team to grade 100% accurately because other teams or PFF ect need to predict what a player's assignment was.

  18. That's a tiny receiving corps with basically no reliable targets. Clercius is headed that way, but sometimes a QB just needs a relatively easy throw. Going to have to work screen game with this crew, the intermediate stuff is largely out the window IMO. These guys need to get open, no one who will win a contested ball.

  19. Time for Clercius to step up....carve a spot and show he belongs....and get more reps....this is a good thing I would use this Neuf 6 game too and audition Wallace..Eli and Dobson in varying deployments too and see who should be playing

  22. The.last 2 yrs especially of coaching/management ineptitude has put us so far behind the 8 ball this yr and if nothing changes fast we squarely behind it next yr too it's not even funny...and totally inexcusable from this apparent "flagship" coaching/culture team

  23. This game marks the half way point of our season. We have back to backs with B.C. ssk and edm. If we split those series that makes us 5-9 with 4 games to go. 2 games vs ham 1 vs tor and Mtl. So if we split the back to back and win out the rest of the way we make the play offs. Any thing less than that, short of Calgary losing out, would likely have us miss the play offs. We also have all 3 byes and mos teams tend to struggle off a bye. We also have 5 games left on the road where we haven’t won a game all year. All 3 of our bye weeks lead to road games as well. One of those bye week into road games is right in the middle of the last two games of the year which aren’t back to backs. We need to be stealing wins immediately. If we get swept in one of the home and away back to backs that all but mathematically ends our season. meanwhile we are burning weeks of opportunity to change over long in the tooth positions (c, qb, dt, mlb, s.) we can swap out maybe two of those in camp next year and expect to contend but not likely more than that. Not only does our season hang in the immediate balance, our shot at winning the ship at home next year does too.

  24. Take into account injuries which have been substantial and unfortunate this season compared to seasons past.

  25. That was absolutely ******* incredible. Because the ref called "Timeout Toronto," reset both clocks and then the clock ran anyways. So did they actually get the timeout? Or just ******* around with the flow of our offense. That ref crew needs to take a seat.

  27. Can play the 50/50 without going to the game. But maybe not everyone knows that.

  28. Bit of both haha. I’ve got family that goes and spend the whole game at the rum hut, 90% for the atmosphere drinks 50/50 etc. and that’s not a knock on them or the team. They’ve done an incredible job of building a cool area that young people love. One of my cousins has become a bomber fan entirely because of the rum hut party every home game.

  29. 30k sold. Wonder if that’s because ppl aren’t giving up or if it’s because the 50 50 pot starts at 100k.

  30. His missing the whole tc and pre season tells me he never recovered from injuries last year. He was pretty beat up late in the year. Nuef had fought all kinds of injuries over the years. The riders used to think he was a tackle in his early days. I’ve been as vocal as any one about his flaws, guys a tough ass warrior. I wish a bunch of other guys had his heat and toughness. He is not the answer at guard, maybe he could become the answer but he isn’t a turn key solution. I’m happy we are going imp, I also hope we give Wallace a game or more if we end up playing meaningless games.

  31. My take on Neufeld is that he got old, he's never been a supremely athletic guy, and he's been relatively injured since the start of the season. Did he get hurt in that game? Even just a small aggravation is going to turn someone who was just getting by into a complete liability. So I think that's where we're at. He's on the 6 game and I don't particularly think he's coming back barring massive injuries on the line.

  32. I’m guessing Randolph starting at G is so Wallace and Eli can stick with their sub packages and short yardage situations, which they are obviously familiar with.

  33. If Woli is out for a while and we can sign Bailey, I’d go with Lawler, Wilson, Demski, Whitehead, Bailey as the starters with Clercius as the back up and to rotate in on certain sets to use his size. Don’t need to start 2 Cdn receivers with the other Cdn starters.

  34. Randolph ahead of Eli and Wallace is a choice...

  35. If Woli is hurt they need another receiver too. I don’t think Lucky coming on has any correlation to potentially signing Rasheed. Wilson/Clercius/Lucky/Demski/Johnson. I’d put Bailey in the lineup over any of those americans right now, and maybe Demski too honestly.

  39. oh dont get me wrong...I agree.....Thomas and Kolo need to evaporate sooner than later...but we are also in this position due to negligence and neglect re: our roster and player assessment We would be no worse...and likely much better off with Dobson/Eli/Wallace....Demskii...BO and Woli....with Clercius in Johnson's spot, and roster Murphy and Sign Bailey who can be Nationlized due to injury to one of Woli/Demski/Clercius in game and dress Murphy in lieu of Thomas as additional National WR depth......And have no need for any Canadian "starter" on defense save for Ford...who is a legit talent....don't even have to declare him as a designated national spot on defense so if he does get hurt you can replace him with any import......and then you could allow Kramdi to be what he is...a good rotational piece...spot starter due to injury, or move him around on the defense in different spots... safety...SAM... and on certain sets and schemes. That right there alone just with who we have in house would make us a better team...way more versatile...

  40. It's going to be a gorgeous night... There's no better party anywhere in the city, and tickets are inexpensive.... Win or lose, there's no reason not to come to a Bombers home game. Especially when we only get 9 or 10 a year....

  45. His contract ends after this season IIRC. He signed a new 2 year deal in 2022 (through the 2024 season) that had some guaranteed money. 3DN shows that only 15% of his contract is guaranteed (or about 25k). https://3downnation.com/2024/05/12/the-cfls-10-highest-paid-linebackers-for-the-2024-season/

  46. I have the same analysis of Nuefeld as wbbfan. After the game the coach was asked point blank if it was injury or performance related and he said "we'll see"... Why the heck didn't he say he was injured if that was the case. I think he's basically been cut in the nicest possible way. He avoids embarrassment and still gets paid until the end of the season while the team frees up some cap space as if he was cut. I wonder if we do the same for Bighill all of next season to avoid the cap hit of his guaranteed money?
