I know we would never know for certain (if we would have won) but these sorts of admissions piss me off so much. In a season where we've not made things easy on ourselves, it shouldn't be made worse by the league actively working against us (through sheer incompetence)

So on the Coach's show, O'Shea said the league told him tha the Toronto interception that he challenged should have been called as DPI. He also said the league will be calling delay of game penalties against teams that call a time out when they dont have one. If they called that against the Argos then the Bombers probably would have won.

I'm far from a VA fan but I'd be beyond pissed right now if I was him.

The financials part makes sense. If a team has multiple guys extended on the six game (and they have missed 7 or more games), 2 of those guys can come off the list without a cap hit. Any additional players pulled early, would have their salary count against the cap. They haven't used one of those 2 exemptions yet (afaik) so leaving Lawler on the 6 game while moving Haba to the one game makes financial sense since they can pull Lawler off and won't get the cap hit. Haba is much cheaper so his hit is manageable.

Lawler for Johnson....Haba for Ayers, and Wheatfall for Case...Let Lucky return kicks....he averaged 30 yards per kickoff for us...28 and 23 yards per for Dallas....and returned punts in Dallas and B.C....we will be just fine with him back there...and you know he can bust one at any moment ...from any where....Case does not offer that....and Wheatfall would make a much better extra receiver on roster than another smurf like Case...this is how those 3 fit

You replacing PR guys for PR guys...or adding a diff entry level contract to roster in lieu of an existing...the cost is the same...and could be cheaper if u dump a vet for a first yr guy...don't need gobs of money for PR shuffling

Wonder if we see a reshuffle of the pr coming soon. With lawler getting healthy and lucky taking a spot doesn’t make sense to keep Alston around. Imagine Johnson to the pr and Alston goes home. Mitchell could be sent out for an nfl cut too. doesn’t make sense to keep grimes mcghee and bridges all around when we are using Kelly at half, rostering karamoko, and are dressing griffin as a back up/dime and he’s been killing it. I could see two of them sent packing for nfl cuts. Smith and case are pretty interchangeable, though I’d rather have a di who could play rb than wr. I could see him sent packing for an nfl cut too. I could see us being in the market for a de if habba isn’t going to be ready soon. A wil/sam/s tweener like Cole to replace him if he won’t be back this year would be good. A 4th qb audition for camp wouldn’t be a surprise. A punter would be really fantastic but probably won’t happen till the off season.

I know this won’t happen because a teams general manager won’t be able to help themselves but it would be hilarious if the entire league played hard ball with B.C making them Have to either have both quarterbacks on the team and take up over a million dollars in cap space next season, or having to release him and be on the hook for 250 K, I know that probably won’t happen but I don’t like when teams spend like this and allow another less fortunate team to bail them out.

Yeah, wasn't clear enough, as soon as they miss the original 6 games, the salary for those games do not count. If they are extended on the six game list and then pulled early, the additional games (7-11) would count unless they are one of the 2 exceptions. Lawler has missed 8 games & was extended on the 6 game so they can use one exemption on him and not be on the hook for those 2 games.

Not really afraid of a guy who runs the offence as though it's a chuck and duck. Our track record against him speaks for itself.

Think they have the right mix on D right now for what they want to do. Wouldn't change it for Haba unless opportunity opens up with injury.

Interested to see what numbers Rourke is getting. Any signing bonus plus is weekly salary for the last nine games can't be insignificant. VA was already paid a lot of his salary. I'm sure they just don't care about the cap and are going all in to win at home this year.

I want to see more of Wheatfall he actually reminds me a lot of Lawler. Small sample size though of course.

Very nice. Lawler and even Wheatfall will certainly help our receiving corps. All rookie contracts are for 2 years and all clubs retain the players rights for those 2 years.

Regardless of the impact on this weekend, Rourke back in the CFL is good for the league and the Lions. I honestly don't know how they make it work with Adams long term but, with what he's being paid, it's unlikely they carry both beyond this season.

So with Rourke returning and news of a new Elk owner... does the CFL sneak in an update about what is going on with Chad Kelly today and hope that no one notices?

Just because guys were pulling Dyce back away from the guy who shouldn't have been there doesn't mean there was a threat of violence. They were exchanging heated words and some other people stepped into pull Dyce back to get him away from the guy, but there was no indication that he was threatening violence at all.

There's a chance Habba can be inserted this week, giving us 8 DL in the lineup. I'm thinking Ayers who was injured last game will come off. Ideally, you want a LB to replace Ayers but we dont have healthy Amer LB on the PR. I think that' the priority that Walters need to fill with the NFL cuts..

Maas might be underrated as a coach, I'd say he's been successful pretty much everywhere but Saskatchewan. Won a Grey Cup as QB coach with the Argos and coached the Redblacks offence to a major turnaround as their OC in 2015. His time in Edmonton was a mixed bag but not terrible either, he made the playoffs 3 out of 4 seasons and won a semi final game each time. They've gone 13-46 since firing him after an 8-10 season in 2019.
