  1. We’ve been asking for Buck to use Streveler properly all season. If it hasn’t happened yet I don’t think it’s ever going to happen.

  2. Better be pitch outs, roll outs and Chris Streveler mixed in the keep the defense guessing as to what's coming. Don't fully rely on long bombs. Kill them with short to intermediate passes and mix in runs and the Riders will be crying into their beers by the evening.

  6. That’s the last thing I wanted to see. They should have dropped Johnson.

  7. Yeah, they either don't know how or don't want to mix Streveler in. At this point he is a less effective Prukop.

  8. I've heard Bryant is just fine. They're likely just giving him extra time to rest. As of right now I'm expecting that he plays sunday

  9. Starting left tackle and our spare/extra olineman who was important to many of our offensive packages on Friday night were both out of the game early. It’s a miracle we did anything on offence that game never mind the great last minute comeback drive. If we get Stanley back and a sixth o olineman for LD we’ll be much more consistent and competitive 👍🏻

  10. I hope he got half a million up front. Otherwise incredibly stupid career move. Likely doesn't have an agent.

  12. Wait, how is the Riders secondary suspect? They have Ronald Milligan who is the best DB in CFL history. A combination of Rod Hill, Les Browne and Jovon Johnson. At least that what Suitor keeps saying.

  13. It’s weird to me that people are claiming nobody could have seen this coming. It’s also weird to me that people are suggesting moving on would’ve been an unprecedented move. does anyone saying that pay attention to the NFL? Green Bay just did exactly what we’re discussing, moving on from Aaron Rodgers to give Jordan Love the team. it was easy to see it coming, it was a tough decision then but we needed to make it and we didn’t like I’ve said before, this line of thinking would’ve cost us Brady Oliveira

  14. I read an article about him recently... the (Detroit) Lions view him as a project and was the same when they drafted him... safe to say they'll probably keep him around for at least a couple years... especially since they traded up to get him

  15. Quite possibly the best cutting running back Ive ever seen. Phenomenal out of the back field, could break your ankles on a dime, durable for the beatings he took ( Diamond Ferry suplexing Roberts at Canad Inns and just bouncing right back up). It would be criminal to not have Roberts up there, and like mentioned, worth every penny to watch, one of the greatest Bombers in history. Congrats, Charles!

  19. 4 year contract for a receiver in the CFL? Don't see that too often

  20. Getting rid of Zac would have taken one phone call. There are at least 5 teams that would have gladly traded for him. Brown would have fared no better this year in this offense. It's easier to blame the QB for a swiss cheese OL and receivers that are making rookie mistakes in route running. Is Zac still MOP calibre? Probably not but it is delusional to place all the blame on him.

  21. Yeah he be fine and will play...he needs no reps...and its good for Randolph to see all the practice reps I suspect we roll with Bryant/Dobson/Kolo/Randolph/Lofton...which is our starting group[ who have played well...with Eli as the 6th...Thomas as the 7th and we see MCI on roster....Clercius did a great job last game...well all yr, so not too concerned....and if we smart we use a lot of motion and move the launch point and have ZC rolling out...or actually implement stuff with Strev with motion and roll/outs and bootlegs as the Rider secondary is suspect and will bite and be easily torched with it...

  25. Good. I don't care what anyone says about his attitude, his prep (or lack thereof), what he did or didn't do before the Grey Cup in Montreal, etc. With apologies to Stegall, he is the single best player I ever saw live and was a reason alone for going to the stadium. Congrats to Charlie!

  26. Like to see what Vanderpool has...but being an import at the expense of who Personally if Woli back possibly...I'd drop Johnson and slot Woli in and we have Whitehead in case of injury to a receiver To drop a guy on the defensive front in a game which may come down to who plays best in the trenches be kinda foolish to remove a guy from there...

  27. Shocking said no one ever. Hope he comes back to the CFL but not looking forward to the potential storyline TSN cooks up to pump his tires. Looking forward to seeing him with his palms up then fighting like a seven year old with an Olineman after the whistle.

  28. Disagree 100%. Running the ball should absolutely be adoption because if he shows a willingness and ability to run teams have to now account for it.

  31. Yeah I don't think the Rodgers comparison is super apt either. Rodgers is even older, Green Bay had a down year, he had a down year and Rodgers had a lot of super weird baggage coming to a head after that season. The Packers also had Love behind Rodgers, which isn't super dissimilar to the Brown situation but having invested a 1st round pick in Love is a lot bigger deal than just having Brown sitting behind Collaros. I hope that they were having those conversations re: Collaros and Brown... but I can see why it never gained any traction. Like just for Comparison sake Rodgers in 2022: Probably the worst season in his career, doesn't even make the Pro Bowl (which is almost impressive for a QB in the NFL who starts all the games for their team lately with all the injury replacements), Green Bay misses the playoffs at 8-9. Talking about how he has been 'immunized' and sharing 9/11 conspiracies on Joe Rogans Podcast. One year removed from being back to back MVP. Collaros in 2023: One of the best seasons of his career, CFL All Star at QB, Probably realistically was 3rd in MOP voting. Bombers make it to the Grey Cup for the 4th straight year at 14-4 in the regular season. By all accounts a great teammate and probably saves puppies with Oliveira in his spare time. If anything Rodgers in 2022 was a preview of Collaros in 2024 (aside from all the weirdo stuff... so far)

  33. Exactly. Everyone could see we saw the best of Zach. hes 36 years old and not going to be getting any better. In fact there was a noticeable decrease in his level of play last season and he wasn’t good enough when it mattered for the last two grey cups. Dru is a decade younger and was outstanding with the same weapons Zach had and although it remains to be seen if he could do it over 18 games, there’s a lot of room for growth in his game. I said for the last two seasons he has a pro Arm. He can make those deep out throws and his decision making was something he could work on but last season his decision making was noticeably better than the season prior. The level of growth from Dru led me to believe that even if this season was a wash, by the time we host in 2025 we’d be getting Dru at his prime, and room with our cap situation to make some big moves.

  34. Our roster construction made all our problems worse. We moved on from grant and Bailey with out existing in house replacements. We moved on from hardrick and brought in an army of guards. Zach hasn’t been good in any play off games here. Adequate a few times but never close to a mop level performer. Zach is 36, there is no world where you can expect the best performance in the clutch at that point. He also struggled hard multiple times for extended stretches last year. About two solid month long slides of playing really bad. Now he’s had one good game since week 18 of last year.

  42. Charlie deserves the recognition.....Didn't like the way he left.... he should have finished his career here....Roberts was one of the best backs this club has ever seen ....He could make you look awful foolish....Many a tackler thought they had him coralled and he'd just slip by them with ease ...Elusive and durable as hell ...one of our all time greats

  43. I remember being in the stands one game back at the old barn it was Winnipeg vs Montreal. I don't remember the year. Dave Donaldson had a huge game that day. He picks off Calvillo in the end zone. Then he makes a huge sack on Anthony Calvillo to ice the game for the Bombers. The stadium was rocking that night and we took down the vaunted Als that night. Such a great memory.

  44. Totally agree. And he also took a lot of awkward looking hits, causing the crowd to gasp…. Then he’d just pop back up like nothing happened. Can you imagine if he had Milt’s work ethic and lifestyle? I can’t even wrap my head around how good he would have been.

  45. People keep suggesting having kept Brown like it was a possibility... that move would have been unprecedented in sports, to move on from your QB, who if the MOP candidates were ranked probably would have been #3, to a relatively small sample size backup QB. The problem is that everyone was expecting a somewhat graceful decline in Collaros... but what happened was a huge nosedive. Also, if the Riders refuse to acknowledge the Banjo Bowl and insist on calling it the Labour Day Rematch, can we start referring to the game on Labour Day as the Banjo Bowl Preview? Maybe the Banjo Bowl Backstory to keep it all Bs?

  46. Robert’s was absolutely amazing. To put up 2000 all purpose yards during his prime the years we had a terrible o-line and guys like Tee Martin as QB was absolutely incredible. We’ve been blessed to have some great running backs in Winnipeg for the last 20 years but it all starts with Blink. One of those worth the price of admission kind of players.
