  1. This. How many teams are in financial jeopardy? How many franchises can’t draw a decent crowd? Now the next top qb to get a deal is going to be comparing to 850k. We just saw how a run on WRs crippled the market and some teams caps. I mean bc screwed up the market and their team on Riley’s contract not that long ago.

  2. Sure JC, it doesn't matter until teams start running into financial difficulties and it threatens the existence of the CFL as it has for the 30+ years, I've followed the CFL.

  3. https://3downnation.com/2024/08/29/opinion-b-c-lions-gaming-cfl-salary-cap-and-theres-nothing-wrong-with-that/ I’ve got a lot of love for ringmaiden, doman, jauch, and a handful of their coaches. But man I am tired of them trying to buy a winner. The league really needs to make adjustments to the cap in the next cba, and until then the bombers need to start spending competitively on free agents that aren’t ours.

Alcohol impairs judgement. Why are you trying to dismiss drunk driving? And justify "some people can have 5 or 6 beers and still drive"? Thats ridiculous and irresponsible.

  5. this is my favorite lapo video yet, where he isolates the mistakes that are playkillers. the margin for error on these things is so small. Godber doesn't get the right block, the back is bubbled outside and strung out and it's an easy tackle. Harris doesn't read a DB's body posture correctly and throws a low percentage pass that turns into a pick. the rock and roll play was super interesting. the Argos D rolls coverage to handle some horizontal motion in the Rider backfield, but KeeSean Johnson doesn't pick out the right guy to block, and a huge play is aborted.

  7. Agree 100%, and to me Montreal’s just as bad if not worse. How long until they cry poor and the league has to bail them out again?

  9. What a bunch of entitled & self indulgent pricks in BC. They're just laughing at the rest of the league.

  10. I am sure it's a good time but there is no way it's the scale of Winnipeg's unofficial tailgating. It would be cool if the Bombers sent up a drone on Banjo Bowl to showcase the extent of the tailgating going on in the multiple lots around the stadium.

  11. The rouge being an issue is sad. Everyone knows the rules…so maybe don’t hand the ball over to the other team on your own 35 in the last minute and then complain that you lost in a tied game? Only rule I absolutely hate is the forced kickoff under 3 mins. You play 57 mins with one set of rules after a FG then change. Rouge is fine…it’s a reward for field position and makes the game far more strategic.
    3 points
  12. Do not change the rules regarding the rouge, it is a great rule that is unique to the CFL and make the game more interesting. Even if the Bombers lost the game on a last second rouge, I would be saying the same thing, and I think it's ridiculous every time certain teams lose that this discussion comes up. It's part of the strategy in the game to make sure you are close enough to be able to make the kick and incentivizes the returners to run the ball out of the end zone on a miss. It is not a reward for missing a field goal, it is a reward for kicking the ball far enough, or stopping the returner from getting out of the end zone.

  13. our addition of 2 Rifles to the PR does nothing to help us...gives us zero coverage/depth and are total non factors for this season....last yr as well we had a guy on roster for no purpose....sure...its nice and warm and fuzzy showing support to the local junior team, but nobody else does that....because it's pointless.....and if that is the best we can scrounge together for PR depth in lieu of injury or under performing...we are in a sad state of affairs A legit LB prospect...a Canadian Oline guy who actually has a chance of being on the roster....A legit return demon.....A actually punter....all things that would have served us well the last several weeks....but we seem to be more concerned with running some guys into the ground being not healthy, or just not good enough game in or game out....or playing guys out of positioon.....is that a characteristic of a well functioning team?....I think not...save the public relation and good vibes crap for training camp...or when the PR opens up for that several week window later in the yr....not when you are under seige with injury and lack luster performers...in the heat of a playoff positioning race

Looks like Wendy's is coming back to Henderson Hwy after a 20 year absence. It looks like they are redoing the old Triple B's.

  17. Well I don't expect them to run a 4.4. There's tons of 6'3-6'4 guys up here.

  18. He's getting better as an adjustment to our group of receivers minus Schoen. I just don't understand why basically every receiver we brought in this year was 6' 180 lbs except for a couple. Collaros loves vertical. We need catch radius guys like Lawler, Schoen, Wolitarsky style even.

  22. Reminds me of that drunk Bombers fan who had consumed 20 beers before and during the game then took a header down the stairs in the north end. Blamed his death on the lack of railings the wife said.

No one is trying to let him off the hook. Of course he chose to drink and drive, and that was a really bad decision, and that is 100% on him. But it is also true that is very very likely that him drinking impaired his judgement and how he was driving.

They may think that they are not impaired, but they are. Reaction time and decision making is not the same as if they hadn't had anything to drink, whether they "feel" it or not.

  27. Stamps tailgate area is virtually entirely fan driven and it is fun. I don't believe they have a team run area like the bombers do, but the "private" on site tailgating is fun. I've done a few of them, and people play games and listen to music and BBQ and all that... It's a good time.

  28. They said that they wanted to do that to increase scoring across the league. I would be curious to know what the average scores were before and after that change and if it had the intended effect.
    1 point
  29. I didnt like when they changed from the 35 to the 40 for the line of scrimmage after field goals. I understand they wanted to increase scoring but teams should have to earn the yardage.

  33. Randy Ambrosie needs to do the exact opposite of what he thinks he should do.
    1 point
  34. yeah....that is true now I look at it....but then looking at our PR and it's just trash...4 WR's....save for Wheatfall who looks like he has potential....3 of which really (Mitchell, Case, Murphy) serve no purpose and DB in McGhee who was an incumbent...who couldn't beat out new guys, and even when we need to bring a guy om another new DB (Bridges) comes on first...cut bait already with guys who really have zero chance of anything this yr, and ain't the future either We do have a ton of talent on the 6 game tho. and that takes some of the suckage away, but who knows when they will be back as Osh just plays games when people ask...and they will...or should push the dead weight off and hopefully they never seen again.....but that being said in the meantime it's the perfect time to use the PR to evaluate and then keep/discard guys who just wont be a factor

  35. yeah...again...another what's the point signing...I actually liked what McCarthy brought and was kind of surprised we didnt keep him around
    1 point
  36. Even then you could sign a guy from with in the league. Or even a guy like rosery.
    1 point
  37. Disagree. They had a scheme to let Rourke rot back there by taking away his pre-snap (first) reads with multiple coverage looks and changing looks right off the snap. There was hardly any pressure. There were some coverage sacks. Pressure wasn't key to that game plan. But you can't play that scheme repeatedly and against QB's like BLM and Harris. You need to move them.
    1 point
  38. All the more reason I hope we don’t take Adams off the AR. I want all hands on deck to make Harris’ life miserable every time he drops back to pass.

  39. I don't really have an issue with a team going (marginally) over the cap. We've done it. Other teams have done it. Hell, BC was over the cap last year as well. It'll be interesting to see how far over they DO go and whether or not it costs them a draft pick.
    1 point
  40. Man letting Dru Brown go was a franchise altering move. The cap we would save from Collaros to Brown alone would have allowed us to retool this year and really go all in next year for the grey cup at home. But now we’re handcuffed with Zach because of the guaranteed money.
