POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT: this was (is?) how WinnipegGordo and I were able to “break news” or give people the heads up on team moves for years. After agents stopped wanting to share news in Twitter DMs and I got too old to go to parties with the players, the transaction page was the only way to find “news” ahead of anyone aside from being connected to the league office.

Clercius still on the cheap, Dalton will take the obligatory shave because of his injury, and Lawler will likely have to take a shave as well due to production. I see absolutely no reason why we can't and wouldn't sign both guys and for a lot cheaper possible SMS hit than what we had going into this year. If I were a betting man I'd say Schoen at about 175k with minimal signing bonus but lots of games started bonus available. Lawler at about 180k...a fair deal for both sides imo. We keep both Wilson and Wheatfall and possibly go with extra IMP receiver next year. What a receiving corps that would be....Schoen, Lawler, Wilson, Wheatfall, Demski with Woli/Clercius rotating in to keep guys fresh or if ratio calls for it.

Most of Schoen is off the books, Lawler had a good chunk on the six game. No Lawson. Biggie off now too. I have a hard time believing they are up against it. I honestly think things look good to bring a lot of guys back and pay them what they're worth. Renegotiate this year and use that 6 game money as signing bonuses

Schoen's strengths are what has been missing from our passing game all year. I don't care what Wilson and Wheatfall are capable of, they don't bring to the table of our receiving corps what Schoen does. Different styles entirely.

He did stink in the Grey Cup. We would have won that game if Smelly Kelly hadnt of come in and channeled his inner Michael Vick on us.

If Lawler and or Schoen do come back next year I think Walters should be looking at the signing bonuses he is giving out to them. This year there was minimal cap savings with these guys out of of the line-up due to the size of their signing bonuses (Lawler 150k, Schoen 105k). The bonuses help keep the overall contract totals lower but the team would be better off if they decreased the bonuses incase the players get injured again. Especially in Schoen's case if he needs to start next season on the 6 game.

I, like many, met Pete in Caesar's Palace. Should have inducted into Cooperstown for his on field achievements. If Big Papi is in with all that juice, so should Rose. Can't bet on the game. End of. But, no indication he did while he was playing. Mutombo came along when I followed basketball closely. What an intimidating character. I had his shoes. 😉 But, by all accounts, he was also a wonderful human being. RIP.

I get its not a popular take, and i love me some Dalton Schoen, but he is a luxury at this point and the injuries are starting to pile up. From September of last year all the way through to the Grey Cup he was injured and in and out of the lineup, putting up 36 limpy yards in the big game. And now has missed the entire 2024 season going down week 3. Thats 1.5 out of 3 seasons injured now. May be a pattern forming. Save the money and go and get some legit proven interior and exterior pass rush/run stuff linemen. Thats really our glaring weakness. Having said all that, if he's willing to take a haircut to stick around then great, but having two receivers taking up 500K+ is a luxury and likely not needed with the young talent in our receiving corps. Wilson is quietly likely to break 1000 yards which doesnt happen very often for a rookie, and Wheatfall has been awesome when in the lineup. These guys are legit.

I just re-watched the game, and dear Lord. Im sorry Mr Lawler. I forgot how good you are. It wont happen again. There is no better receiver in the CFL. Period.

Body shaming is a new low on that forum and it is on the admins to control it. One of the things I appreciate on this forum, no matter our differences of opinion, when things get way off topic and there is something that is in exceptionally bad taste they do not hesitate to lay down the law. Devin Adams played last game and is listed on the PR still.

I don’t think they update their site very much. It’s pretty obvious they don’t. Wallace and Fox all listed on the 6 game there still. Scott still on the PR. Devin Adams still listed on the PR. It’s definitely not updated often.

Habba off for fox would be a huge win. Hope Adams is good to go. Wallace and feltmate will make for a tough call. Feltmate brings a lot on teams and blocking but Wallace would be our best G off the bench if any one goes down other than kola. I’d love to see a 30 front with woods fox and Adams. Good luck.

Dane Evans was the more dangerous QB of the two when he got hot, like a super-charged Trevor Harris. Unfortunately he couldn't handle the mental stress football continually throws at the QB, he seemed happiest standing on the sidelines holding a clipboard.

Masoli had a couple good years in Hamilton but that's it. He's never been a consistently top teir guy.

I love Kenny. But this was the first game this year he was really ON. We are rolling and hope it keeps going till we are in the dome for the big game.
