  2. Specifically this shade of “old gold” that they used from 86-88, as they used a slightly different (imo better) variant for those 3 years To me, this is the perfect Bomber road set. You can see the difference here, as they’d worn the older, slightly duller and more mustardy shade from 70-85, including 1986 exhibition. Also, little trivia- the club wore white pants at home with royal blue jerseys and gold helmets, for just one season, 1965. I kind of dig them actually, especially the massive back numbers. I’d like to see them someday as a one-off retro for a HOF game or something.

  3. yeah TSN is totally playing the excuse and blame game with their great Canadian hope Rourke BC effectively screwed their season bringing him in...If they felt the need to, they should have signed him to a pro-rated deal for this yr.....and had him as back-up to Vaj if/when he faltered...or got hurt....but nope....they went polar opposite route....and you can see the fractions on that team now....there were guys loyal to VAJ who had zero relationship to Rourkie...and you can see it If you want a text book lesson on how to screw your room...season....look at BC Happiest guy in all this has gotta be the Banana...he gets to leave that scene and very likely play for the Grey Cup right back there....and quite possibly get a ring out of the deal

  4. Same, they’re so unique without differing too much from their traditional look. Man I’m a huge football uni nerd, I could talk about that **** all day.

  5. I can't stand the Riders.

  6. Strev was grossly misused and not given a chance to be a QB And the snaps he was given was put in such a stupid scheme...totally predictable and basically 3 different plays...no doubt it would seem he wasn't what he was...and when never given reps..or use of playbook of course it took him a while to look comfortable Look at his start and his win...once he started to get more and more reps...he looked better...I feel sorry for the guy but also applaud him as being ultimate team guy and basically sacrificing his health for his brothers

  7. I get that bc couldn’t let him walk else where. vaj has never been consistent or been able to win in the clutch. The real dumb thing bc did was throwing Rourke right in. They should’ve held him back a month easily while he built chemistry with the team again, learned the play book etc. even vaj missing shouldn’t have been met with instant Rourke play. He’s going into his sophomore play in the worst way possible.

  8. Honest question, are you trolling? I understand it’s subjective, but you’re the first person I’ve ever heard or read having anything close to that opinion. What could you possibly like about her as the panel host?

    SNF Riders @ Elks GDT

That stuff works great on regional broadcasts. Like in baseball. But on nationally televised games on a national station it’s gotta be treated with more professionalism. That’s the biggest knock I have on tsn. The whole thing smacks of a regional broadcast of bush league crap where having fun is more important than doing the job. That’s part of the brilliance of bob irving. Even as a long term bomber broad caster, he was never badly bent. He called a spade a spade if the team was good or bad and was never a fan boy.

  11. BC was struggling with Adams too. They were on a 3 game losing streak when Rourke came in. They had games against Edmonton and Calgary where Adams was hit more than a dozen times in each game. His last start was the one against us where they couldn't get a first down.

  13. You know who would be the perfect host but was canned a little while back? Cory Woron. I loved Randorf (my favourite CFL Panel Host ever) and Duthie was okay, except he ALWAYS wanted to turn everything into a "bit"... He was always looking for the next great comedy piece. They finally let him run wild with that in their hockey coverage, and it was..... A lot.

  14. I mean she doesn’t get lost in the noise of the panel because she is the dominant source of noise on the panel. The game gets lost in her noise, and that’s what people (like my self) hate. Others like milt and Sanchez get pulled into her gravity to the point it’s all very loud with out any thing interesting to say. Which washes out any actual good points and conversation. Daikun, lets the content be the star of the show. daikun is like salt and pepper on a steak. Makes it better but you don’t particularly taste or crave the salt n pepper. Kate, is like pouring an entire bottle of cheap ketchup on to a wagyu ribeye. (So is milt, who has less of value to say every year)

  15. add Keith Urban to that mix and you've got the makings of an instant classic.

  16. When Adams was playing, he was lighting it up. He was throwing the ball & completing passes all over the place & pushing the ball vertically downfield. Now, with Rourke, Hatcher can't get any separation because of his achilles injury. The other receivers suddenly can't block & they're suddenly a sub par group. Nothing about Rourke playing like ****. Campbell is coaching like he wants to be elsewhere next season.

  17. What's gonna happen when B.C. plays the Riders in west semi... Suitor vs Farhan in the booth? Rourkes number 1 Muppet vs any Riders an MOP slack jawed supporter. Should be can't miss tv.

  18. So a DB on a team that's 4th in point allowed and 6th in passing yards allowed a game for an 8-7-1 team should be MOP? What a load of bullshit.

  23. He's been very good about a season and a half... Last season he got better with each rep and this year continued it IMO.

  24. I have to say I thought Kramdi was outstanding. He’s a guy that can literally hold his own covering anyone and is as solid as a tackler as there is. I know he was a “little slow” but he sees the game so well and for his responsibilities on the field I think he holds his own as well as any.

  25. I’d have to agree, though begrudgingly since it’s Sask. Still think Ford is the better player, but Milligan’s no jobber. I didn’t realize he was 30. I hope they overpay the **** out of him and extend his deal past ‘25.

  26. I'm hoping he means Milligan...

  27. With all the players and coaches who have come and gone in the CFL in the last 20 years or so (and there have been some real, intelligent, well-spoken characters) you would think that there ought to be a half-dozen or so who ought to be entertaining and knowledgeable enough to be viable alternatives to this lot.

  28. Kate doesn't come across as being herself on the panel. She's over the top, trying to be funny but failing badly, loud and obnoxious. Randorf was excellent because he played the straight man role and was himself.

  29. Bud Grant said something like "the other team can't score if you have the ball". So in other words, keep the ball, you should win.

  30. Fair. That’s the beauty of life, most everything in life is subjective. For me I’m not caring about her looks and I’m not looking for nor expecting detailed football analysis from her. I’m looking for authentic non contrived genuine humorous hosting that she, in my opinion, is achieving the opposite that the other panel members feed off which is a whole other debate in what football people we need on these broadcasts. As for your bewilderment about people liking Laura, it’s quite simple, as Kate is the main host she is the bar we compare other hosts to. Laura can get better like anyone in any profession can but you say stale I say calm focussed authentic with minimal over the top nine year old humour.

  31. The ‘65 furthest right uni’s, blue and especially white (the flashings on the arms) really catch my eye. Great post!

  32. I like Kate. She’s a good looking, strong woman with presence that doesn’t get lost in the noise / personalities of the panel. We aren’t getting serious or insightful analysis from anyone most nights so if you want to talk format and tone we can talk about Production but this isn’t some serious or stodgy thing. I don’t get the Laura Diakun love. She may be fine on SC but in a setting like this, she’s a big “meh” to me - forgettable in every sense and it leaves the segments feeling very stale. Now if we want to talk personalities who should STILL be at TSN (and hosting the panel) .. Natasha Staniszewski would be my choice.

  34. Jovon Johnson had a far superior year when he won MODP than Milligan is having this year and wasn't in the race for MOP. Milligan for MOP should remain only a thought and nothing more.
    2 points
  35. Jovon was the only DB who even had an outside shot at it in recent memory, and he was 10 times the player Milligan is

  36. There's an award that is only for defensive players. A DB didn't even win that award until 2011. There is not any award that is only for offensive players. MOP is effectively offensive player of the year.

  42. I’ve always said at least temper it with a broadcasting partner who blatantly cheers for the other team. That at least would be entertaining than listening to a broadcasting homer cheer with no pushback. Straight fire needs to be doused or at least recalibrated with less cringy yelling.

  43. As messed up as it is, I don’t want the elk to win. If we clinch with two games and a bye im worried we will lift off the gas too hard. I want atleast one more game with meaning.

  49. What a bizarro season. If Collaros plays the last two games he has a pretty reasonable chance at setting a career high in yards. TDs/INTs are all out of whack but I don't think anyone would have expected that after the start and the injuries to receivers throughout the year.

  50. Last night was a masterfully executed example. Defense gets a quick stop and Brady and the O just absolutely drain the clock. Must have been completely demoralizing for Hamilton.
