  1. Touchy McFeely's whole game is closing his eyes and hucking it as far as he can. I like to think of him as a Michael Reilly, but instead of having a cool hat he is a sex offender. Anyways, we need good coverage downfield and a safety who knows what he is doing.

  3. The best DB in the CFL. PERIOD. No one knows his name except every QB and OC in the CFL because they simply must game plan to never throw his way.

  4. It says something when Duane Forde spent the whole game gushing about Nichols. Tsn usually only cares about stats but Forde isn't a dummy and he took every opportunity to point out how good Nichols is and has been.

  5. yeah...that was an interception from coverage and ability...unlike prob 4 of Milligans that were arrant throws to basically right in his chest while he was essentially covering someone else....which is another reason INT's aren't the whole story...Houston prob had 3 or 4 of those too last yr Last I can think of was when Brown had 14 and Hill had 12 in same season...1990 I think....which is just hard to wrap mind around

  6. One of my all time favorite memories as a bomber fan. Being in the crowd and watching that we all knew we really had some thing. I’ll never forget total randos hugging me with joy. We knew in that moment for the first time in a long time we could win any game any way.

  8. then you compare it to the clutch goal-line play that Nichols made in the 2021 Grey Cup...

  9. yeah, I think that in our recent TiCat game, Bo challenged Nichols a bit more than QBs usually do ... and he paid the price. Nichols' interception was a thing of beauty.

  10. yeah...he is an actual talent evaluator With high volume plays against you....you are gonna have guys with high volume stats... Sask has by far the most pass attempts against them....2nd most yards against....71% passes completed against....3rd most 30+ yards plays against...just shy of 400 completions against at 397...and until recently were a team that gave up more than they scored...or was basically even Those numbers right there tell you teams wanna throw at you...why?...because you are weak there we give up 59% completion percent....least yards given up...and only 297 completions against...so what defense would you think if you looked at record....passing numbers....points differential would you think had the MODP type DB's on it?

Feels really strange that this is last regular home game of the season. The predator comes to town and we have a chance to lock up the West Final. High of 15 Friday, so it should be a glorious night.

  17. Thank you for the parenthesis. I find pinching your nose while complimenting other teams helps as well.

  18. I think of this whenever that CFL ad runs showing Houston getting beat for the TD in the Cup to lose the game.

  19. I'd go so far as to say you seldom see the best DB lead the team in ints. Off the top of my head the last time our best DB lead us in picks mightve been bolden in 01? heath tied randle in 17 and mo was a monster that year, I don't think 19 rose was better than BA either.

  20. When Jake Maier is the best in your QB stable you gotta turn over every stone looking for a new QB.

  21. I know your schtick is to defend every Canadian player to the death... but I think you completely missed my point... I agree Ford is great but my point is it just shows the quality of our defensive backs when the leading INT guy is not even the best db on the team... Not sure if I understand your second point... you can't name the boundary halfback? is this a joke?... you don't know Deatrick Nichols?... one of the best DBs in the league the past 4 years? Is that the guy you can't name?

  22. Yeah I like the signing for CGY. Could be a home run or nothing. No harm in trying. If he turns out to be a good CFL qb they likely save a bunch of $$ compared going the FA way. And they need all the savings they can get because they have a lot of areas to improve.

  23. He can't be worse than "Maier of INT Town".

  24. Holm is a very solid HB. Unless we are picking up an all-star it is hard to see how we could do better. If his salary expectation is nutso, sure, our scouting has clearly demonstrated that they are unbelievably good at recruiting DBs...but otherwise we would be nuts to let him go.

  25. Anyone who can say that Milligan is more deserving of MOP than Brady with a straight face has the football IQ of a peanut shell....and I might be giving them the benefit of the doubt with that comparison.

  26. The League clearly orchestrating the trade of Ricky Ray to the Argos for a roll of tape.

  27. I can’t stand the Argos. Just all the bullshit they’ve pulled as an organization over the years, I don’t even know where to start. This version in particular. I don’t know if it’s those shitty baby blue 1980s underwear uniforms, Dinwiddies sour puss and his XXL zippered polo from Giant Tiger, or their QB being the least likeable CFL player in years… I haven’t wanted to see the Bombers dominate a regular season game this much in a long time. Pinball sounds like Whoppi Goldberg when he talks.

so I know this topic of our roster composition has been debated at some length here, but lately I've found myself thinking about the second game in the BC home-at-home. We lost Neuf and Woli for that game and we replaced them with two imports -- Lucky and Randolph -- without having to disrupt any other positions. Normally when a team loses multiple national starters at once, the ripple effect will hit other parts of the roster as the next-best-Canadians become starters regardless of what position they play, which makes injuries to national starters pretty devastating. It seems like playing a surplus of Canadians -- especially forum whipping boys like Kramdi and Thomas -- has enabled us to have the roster flexibility to deal with injuries that would have crippled the team in past years.

  29. I like Duane Forde's idea that they need to stop having one nominee per team. As he mentioned Winnipeg has Brady, Demski and Ford who all deserve a most outstanding Canadian nod.

  30. Problem with the above is that fans are idiots. And, players choose people trying to make bonuses or their friends. I would say the media would be the best choice but they're mostly idiots nowadays. OCs should vote on best defenders. DCs on offense. And, Head Coaches vote on MOP. Can't vote for your own players.

  31. I’ll be honest with you guys, I still had zero faith in 2019 until the WSF. Finally winning IN Calgary made me realize it was something special. That long TD from Collaros to Adams, with Cuthberts call “Going deep for Adams….and he’s got him!” One of my favourite moments as a fan, still gives me chills to this day.

  41. If they’re trying to run the quick stuff McCheese does now, I don’t think it’s going to work out for them. They’ll have to fundamentally re-design their offence, if in fact they’re going with Walker as the starter next year.

We have ways of making the ratio work for sure. If griffin can’t go, I’m sure it’ll be bridges coming in. Might be mcghee for ba, but not playing S. If ba is likely to be gone one game then ok, I’d rotate Cole and kelly. If ba isn’t gonna be 100% soon, I’d move nichols over. I have more confidence in Kelly playing S over either Hallet just based on the fact he can actually run with WRs.

  43. Not exactly but kind of. Teams just don’t play that much straight man in the cfl any more. The difference is split field zone in groups vs more isolated zones. He was still coming up on the ball, but more breaking in on lateral routes vs playing down hill on top of guys. In our scheme bonds plays the most man type of cover frequently riding the deepest out side man on the back side. But that’s also a spot seldom thrown at even with the hash move. I wonder if holm wouldn’t excel more in griffins dime/wil sub package as an inside wall type vs playing over WRs. He’s done a good job tackling, but a lot is coming in laterally on the back end of plays. For a guy with great hips he seems to struggle to play north south vs east west. He’s young though and could develop. I’m sure griffin could play his half back spot well. Might be pure gain to swap them. Nichols is like Randle now in terms of being under rated. He doesn’t play the island like Randle did, but teams just don’t go at him like Randle. Though nichols has been fantastic taking gaps in the run fits. His physicality and reliability tackling has been essential. Nichols could be plugged into any role in our secondary and not miss a beat. Same goes league wide. He’s not good at every thing, he’s very literally great at it all. I think on top of jy, ba and Nichols have done a fantastic job supporting and helping all these young kids over the rest of the secondary. It was wild when we ran 2 rookies side by side previously, now, we are running a bunch of guys with low cfl experience across the secondary and excelling with them.

  45. The producer/director is certainly at the the core of the problem. Milts “character” is extremely cringe inducing. I wonder if it ever actually changes though. I assume tsn doesn’t really care what they do as long as it remains cheap enough.
    2 points
  46. I think they want/ask Milt to play the clown part...I also think he tiring of it based on the last several broadcasts....As I know him and he not like that "guy" he plays on the panel. Just watch his and Sanchez's podcast for an example.....totally different, or any football related camp....appearance...charity venture...even interview he does... Not sure what the TSN Production execs are looking for, or wanting to produce but amateur comedy hour shctick...and the same ol same ol nothingness isnt what viewers want....or need for that matter
