  2. And a bye week coming off a loss is even worse...

  3. This has been a huge problem this year. ZC has no where to step up.

  4. And, what happens if he wins and looks good doing so? Farhan will be conflicted - Lions over Rourke?

  5. Yeah Hornibrook was one of the guys we had on our neg list so they obviously saw something in him at one point. I'd think he get another look next season with a full camp to show what he's got.

  7. And a loss to the Argos to boot! Gross.

  8. There's a 30-day PR expansion period after the NFL cutdowns. 5 additional PR spots. The Bombers activated it about 30 days ago. Unless they've recently changed this rule?

  10. The only good bye week is one that’s over.

  11. Dobson had the one big OLE! Moment for sure but I didn't notice a ton of issues. Meanwhile kolankowski... tons of times when collaros wants to step up in the pocket there's nowhere to go because our centre is getting pushed back and it all breaks down.

  12. I don't think the PR reduces in size, but it terminates with the regular season. A bunch of teams are pruning the PR, so I assume it's prep for year end. Edmonton cutting guys who aren't gonna play etc. I wonder if any one cut will be of interest/use. I suspect we will only add guys if it looks like we will not have some one for the play offs. Hope person gets a look and hubert gets one more. Cant believe we kept mitchell all year. Plus both Case and Smith. Man the PR is ugly. Would be better if the IR was jam packed all year, but still just ugly not turning over spots more when we've starved for positional depth at many times this year.

  13. Probably just tryouts, they'd really have to jump off the page to displace another player that's been on the team since the beginning of the season. If they showed well likely see them again in the spring.

  14. Yea...the scoreboard really did flatter the Argos to a great degree. We didn't make the inches when we needed them and that was our downfall on the day. We left 16 points out there.

    Argos at Bombers Chat

Just so I'm clear for tonight...the Nationalized American rule (the 7 CDNs + 1 fake Canadian)? Or the Designated Nationalized American rule (the now-25 snaps one)?

  20. You are correct. Teams decide when in September the 30 day expansion is to start.

  21. Don't hold your breath about the O-line suddenly getting better. They looked pretty much like they did in the first few games during that skid. The problems at center and right tackle persist. Lofton can be better and has been, but Kolankowski is just flat-out not good. There was a reason he was out of football for two years.

  22. Idk if these were try outs for next camp or if they guys failed a hard check point. Had hoped to atleast get a look at hart.

  23. Mr Hornibrook lasted all of 2 weeks.

  24. Liam Dobson was the biggest problem I saw out there. He lost nearly every 1v1 to Ceresna he had.

  25. No thanks, I had a more fun miserable time ripping my engine apart and changing my clutch today.

  26. Interesting. Now that you mention it, yeah the Willie or Malik Carney type bodied pass rushers seem to be dwindling. Lot of 6”3, 260ish guys having success lately.

  29. You can only do that so much until teams do to us what they've (and we've) done to BC, Hamilton. Drop out 8-9 and just blanket the 3 guys we do have in the route. Have to make D's cover the width of the field and keep the vertical threat. So really it's time to play the best OL possible, focus on making better reads on pressure pre-snap and adjusting routes/plays accordingly. Dealing with pressure in general and pressure with zone coverage especially has been a major weakness this year. Collaros is extremely out of sync with receivers in terms of what their reads are vs pressure. I'd like to see a lot more power running, press A gaps, inside trap blocking...and then playaction off that. Use strengths to cover weakness.

  32. There were a half-dozen screwups of which even one not made would have saved the game, and some of those were on Pierce, Younger and O'Shea.

  34. There's a lot that can be appreciated about that era - Roberts, Stegall, Brown, et. al. It was what it was, more good football than bad.
