  1. Sounds like Collaros has quite the speech following the loss to Toronto. Neufeld wouldn't go into details, but it was fiery. The OL, in particular, is not happy (nor should they be) and I wouldn't be surprised to see them enforce their will on the Als next weekend...

  2. He will be but I don’t really think he should be. Milanovich hasn’t done a thing since he was gifted Ricky Ray 12 years ago. I don’t get what the draw is.

True, but this team looks like crap. They regressed. They need to go a different route this off-season, imo.

  4. Collaros is not gonna retire. He wouldn't have signed the 3 year deal ifnhe wanted to bow out early, especially with the home grey cup. The only thing I could see making him think about it is some sort of major injury that is going to take too long to rehab.

  5. Bad ownership, bad coaching, bad quarterbacking. Bad Canadian Drafts. John Hufnagel aging out & really wanting to permanently retire.

  8. He took over as GM in 2008 - they won the cup that year. They finished in 2nd in 2005 & 2006 before dropping a spot in 2007. He didn't exactly inherit a tire fire. You'd have to go back a few years earlier to the Kevin Feterik days to the last time they were a real mess.

  9. Agree with that. We have actually just not all in the off season. Sts and dc. Jj, grant, biggie, kyrie, sheed, and hardrick. I do not think money is a primary motivating factor for zach. I do not think he wants to be hauled off the field or end on a concussion. If the ol lost Bryant and neuf, or if we moved on from either star wr, I think he’d be strongly swayed towards retiring. Also if buck leaves I think the chances go up. Keep in mind he’s been on a starters pay for 10 seasons. If he’s averaged 500k salary per year that’s 5 mil. I don’t think he has to make decisions based on the financials. glad to hear that. We need the pissed off motivated offence. Zach isn’t normally that kind of leader, for him to bust out that you know he’s fired up.

  13. The bombers before a bye week in recent years have been pure ****. Pretty sure the 2022 season our only losses were games before bye weeks. Last year a bunch. Another big let down this year. It's not something new.

  14. On a Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan site comprised of some pretty hardcore lifelong unwavering Blue Bomber supporters who for the most part understand the game at varying levels and acknowledge when homerism is influencing their perspectives, you come in hot and fairly aggressively tell people to calm down there is nothing to complain about. Then predictably when you get push back from those aggressive comments you clutch your pearls and make comments that the world would be such a better place if we could all be a bit more objective like you and for us to know how you post with integrity. This approach frustrates me greatly and not just for sports it is the main reason imho that our political threads here have been locked down. Feel free to hit the rolly eye or confused emoticon. Go Bombers.

Yup. Not many good teams this year. Good thing they played well at the beginning of the year.

  22. I think existing health is gonna be a big question mark. Big Stan’s scare was a big deal. Neuf was atrocious before ir time. And I’m convinced zach has lingering throwing hand issues. Some times he struggles soo much to get the ball out cleanly, no matter position or protection. I think the highest risk to retire of guys starting next week is neuf and lowest is Jake. They could all be back, but the cup motivation after 2 wins and 4 straight appearances is diminished imo. If we win this year it’s even more so. I could actually see woli calling it a career in the off season too. I see him wanting the highest quality of life in his post football era.

  23. I think the OL main stays and Collaros are essentially guarenteed to be back in 2025. I bet that's the last year for a few of them. Will essentially be a decade of building/winning etc etc....grey cup at home...really isn't a better way to go out.

Twice through the line up is all they're allowing for their starters. It's really dangerous in a 7 game series. The bullpens are wearing out. I hope the Yankees close it out tonight and that the NLCS goes 7.

  26. Not sure about that. The Stamps were a mess before Huffer took over and, IIRC, he had them competitive in a couple couple of years, thanks to a draft where he picked up 2 or 3 starting Canuck O-linemen in one draft.

  27. Collaros ain’t gonna retire if we win. Bet your ass all these guys wanna win it not only this year but especially next year here in Winnipeg I could see Zach retiring after next season. Not this one. No way he’s not our starting QB next year. Just don’t see him retiring when we host the cup.

  28. SJ aren’t that bad. Jets just owned them early and often. On the road trip SJ gave up 14 goals. But 8 last night. So 6 in the other 2 3 games combined. They did just play the night before tho and jets were off a week.

  32. They've already done that. Outside of the Oline. I fully expect nexts years team to be very good. I was worried to start the year as it looked like their plan was to keep the old heads around, however Injuries forced change. I'd love to make the cup this year again, but I won't be too upset if they don't. Next year...I want this team to dominate again!!

  37. Counter point, I may have to live with us losing a WF in Regina and the joy it would bring to Rider fans. Not a good thing at all.

  38. This team already looks quite different. I will take hosting the West Final, please, and just assume that they'll get us back again next year like they've done for the past four seasons.
    1 point
  39. Finishing second in the West may be a good thing, ultimately. It may force Walters & Osh to take stock of the entire team & be aggressive in free agency to shore up our holes. If we want to be in the 2025 Grey Cup at home.

I don't think that's possible. I mean, of course there will be exceptions. But the skyrocketing cost of food and other consumer goods, make increased theft inevitable. When poverty rates are already high, you get the perfect storm. In Manitoba and in other places as well.

  41. If you pause at 45:47 the ball is pretty clearly in. Ball just has to touch the front of the plane. He doesn't have to stay in, he just has to break plane with ball once. Same time right down the line on replay at 46:42. If 25 can't see the ball there he's not looking in the right spot. CC needs to be able to make that call though.

  42. Refs make mistakes that directly lead to points (or points taken away) it's a pretty big deal. Consider our 2 games against the Argos which could likely be the difference between hosting the West Semi or the West Final. Consider the Ottawa-Sask game that ended in a tie that was a complete clusterfuck of officiating errors in the OT. Kind of the entire reason that the Command Centre exists. If they can't calibrate to have the Command Centre intervene and make the right call with everything at their disposal these days, get rid of it and let the refs on the field know they have to do a better job because they have no margin for error (the CC isn't going to intervene to fix their mistakes).

  43. I think the CFL refs need far more training and pay. NFL Refs have off-season jobs, CFL Refs have in-season full time jobs, including gamedays sometimes. With the lack of training and time to concentrate on officiating, the skill level will never be close. I’d still say the oline play was by far the biggest factor in the Bombers losing that game, with missing 2 FGs being second. The third down call at the end I thought was wrong on the field, by rule, but (thanks to TSN) the camera angles couldn’t provide indisputable evidence to overturn. I have less of an issue with that one. However though. I’d argue that the Terry Wilson was over on goal line play was a horrendous call both on the field and by the command centre. You can see his helmet and the nose of the ball break the plane at 45:43 and again from closer at 46:37 of the video. I have an issue with this, as it completely changed momentum, and the dynamic of the entire game. This (imo) was a huge factor (but not the biggest) in the result of the game. Mike O’Shea himself had the same thoughts on the coaches show. Not even an implication, he flat out said “he was in” O’Shea very, very rarely makes definitive statements like that, especially regarding officiating. For example, he demurred in the same situation when DT had asked him about the terrible non-PI call at the end of the (other) Argo game and to me, that call was even more blatantly incorrect. Pretty telling imo

  48. Writes the one who comes in hot with occasional mocking statements to drive home their counter point. How is this approach objective?
    1 point
  49. The ball is Out of Bounds when a player in possession of the ball touches a Sideline, Sideline in Goal, Dead Line or the ground or any other object on or beyond these lines. Pretty straight forward actually. Player in the air the ball is out wherever the player is deemed to be down... so question is, you spot at the players knee or where the ball is? Cause that's the entire issue with spotting the ball. Sometimes it's the ball when a player reaches, but sometimes it's where the player goes down. Consistency from officials. To a man everyone here has said the offense was dog **** and Castillo sucked... that doesn't mean we can't also say the refs sucked too.
