    Bombers at Als lead up

Gotta think Montreal will be resting starters after this game, maybe rotate a couple in here and there. Don't see Fajardo starting, we need a big bounce back game to secure the West.

  2. I expect to see the Bombers best game. It's basically a playoff game for us. If Montreal can match it, all the power to them.

  3. Loss of Brandon Alexander? Respectively, not sure that’s a loss.

  4. Adams to start WSF. BC has to be regretting being on the hook for 750,000 in 25 and 800,000 in 26 for Rourke.

I'll settle for a 3 game win streak...

  6. The problem with Montreal's stadium is they started to replace the roof so the stadium is out of use for approx 3 years.

  7. I think the OL main stays and Collaros are essentially guarenteed to be back in 2025. I bet that's the last year for a few of them. Will essentially be a decade of building/winning etc etc....grey cup at home...really isn't a better way to go out.

  8. I know the Larks have nothing much to play for but the Lions should have started VA awhile ago.

  9. Yeah. They shouldn't have multiple byes in last 4 weeks of season. Just drowned right out by NHL, NFL and MLB.
    2 points
  10. Gotta say it's pretty stupid for the CFL to have these late season bye weeks. They've basically made the league irrelevant this week as NFL gets into full swing, NHL gets going, even MLB heading into World Series. Should be no byes from October through the end. They got two guys who played but missed on Labatte.

  11. Plus- there are a lot of weak teams this year that Kelly feasted on.

  12. The Bombers were practising on the Friday of their bye week… The CFL rules at this time of year allow Mike O'Shea to keep his players relatively busy even during a bye, and the head coach has done just that. Instead of dispersing across the continent for a short vacation, players combined some work with some play. The play included team bonding: Position groups going out for dinner on Thursday, with a full team bowling outing scheduled for Friday night. The work included hitting the field for practice before hitting the lanes. The goal is to take down that last pin still standing - first place in the West Division - and get rolling into the playoffs. "I want to go and earn it," running back Brady Oliveira said. "I want to earn the right to host the West Final again, and not putting it into anyone else's hands." That chance comes in Montreal a week from Saturday. Win or tie, and the Bombers finish in first place. Lose in Montreal, and they have to hope Saskatchewan loses or ties at home to last-place Calgary later that same night. "We never want somebody else taking care of our business," Jefferson said. "We want to take care of our business. Should have done it last week. Played a good Toronto team... didn't get it done." -Paul Friesen

If they do run Cody for at least a half, we need to win that half and then keep the foot on the gas for whomever Maas puts in afterwards.

  16. Probably Alexander. Nick is super old but was always a freak athlete. Signing him late in the season worked once to win the cup…

**** both of these teams... Hope they both look like ass. Definitely enjoying Faj looking stupid so far. Vaj also seems like a real whiny puss. Like a small, poor man's Burris. Needs to be worshipped at all times.

  21. I think existing health is gonna be a big question mark. Big Stan’s scare was a big deal. Neuf was atrocious before ir time. And I’m convinced zach has lingering throwing hand issues. Some times he struggles soo much to get the ball out cleanly, no matter position or protection. I think the highest risk to retire of guys starting next week is neuf and lowest is Jake. They could all be back, but the cup motivation after 2 wins and 4 straight appearances is diminished imo. If we win this year it’s even more so. I could actually see woli calling it a career in the off season too. I see him wanting the highest quality of life in his post football era.

Idk how pissed they’ll be tbh. They coasted hard into this game, might be pissed might be sleep walking. I hope they bring it and we have a good hard game that elevates the level of play going into the play offs.

    Game 5: Where's Rutger

    Why not push for 93?

  24. Yep. I think it’s a better statement to his talent that he got a long term 2nd cfl look off camp/pre season with out regular season action. Not many guys get that look any more. We’ve also done pretty well scooping guys like this at lber and on D in general. I could see him getting a look in the last game to evaluate who would be better to carry between he and notree, especially if ayers isn’t gonna be back. I am glad they are bolstering our depth at the key di spots with the injuries we have. I also wouldn’t be stunned if he’s just here for depth and to push the guys we have at lber.

  25. Yup the braintrust of the CFL is just not doing itself any favours with so many things over the last while.

  26. I watched most of all of em this weekend, but I only really cared about the BC/Montreal game... And that ended being a nothing burger. The offseason is long enough... I'm not going to waste a second when they're in season. I just ******* love this league...

I was just going to respond the same... it's super easy for Montreal to brush off that last game... and the Bombers are a pissed off team after blowing a chance to clinch first and will want to send a message going into the playoffs and ensure the west final is in winnipeg. Toronto is to me the odds on pick to come out of the east. Rising at the correct time.

  29. They've seemed pretty casual since the end of August. To the point they are getting dinged up. Not sure they can just flip that switch again. Think them and Toronto are in opposite spots from last year heading into playoffs.

  32. Correlation is not causation. Flutie was a beast that could carry any team. Kelly has been a long for the ride half the time.

  33. Yeah he’s got great strength, especially for a guy under 220. That ability to explode and get off a block has been sorely missing for a while here though some of the other young guys have flashed it. I think this is/will be the new prototype for lbers in the cfl. Just as sams have been becoming bigger guys 205-215 who can play in the box, wils are becoming rotational or interchangeable. I think even macs will evolve to be more guys like ayers/cole. Who can drop into cover, pass rush, get off a block, and scrape side line to side line. I don’t recall the last time we held the team back for the bye week. It’s a great move, and I like that they mixed in team building stuff but also had a practice.

  37. In watching the highlights what impressed me most was that Bright did not get washed out in the line play much. Looks to be a blue-chip prospect who looked good in blue and gold. Now, if he is able to adapt to the CFL....

I honestly don't think it'll matter because the bombers will be so pissed off next week's they could molly whop anyone.... But every little bit of good fortune helps so I wouldn't cry to see more Als go down. Already lost an OL...

  46. He took over as GM in 2008 - they won the cup that year. They finished in 2nd in 2005 & 2006 before dropping a spot in 2007. He didn't exactly inherit a tire fire. You'd have to go back a few years earlier to the Kevin Feterik days to the last time they were a real mess.

  47. Agree with that. We have actually just not all in the off season. Sts and dc. Jj, grant, biggie, kyrie, sheed, and hardrick. I do not think money is a primary motivating factor for zach. I do not think he wants to be hauled off the field or end on a concussion. If the ol lost Bryant and neuf, or if we moved on from either star wr, I think he’d be strongly swayed towards retiring. Also if buck leaves I think the chances go up. Keep in mind he’s been on a starters pay for 10 seasons. If he’s averaged 500k salary per year that’s 5 mil. I don’t think he has to make decisions based on the financials. glad to hear that. We need the pissed off motivated offence. Zach isn’t normally that kind of leader, for him to bust out that you know he’s fired up.
