  1. After what happened last GC against Fajardo, I’m never talking **** about a Bomber playoff opponent QB again.

  2. I think VAJ has a lot to prove and a chip on his shoulder with all the Rourke circle jerking. I think he has an outstanding game and beats the Riders.

  4. Just as a man-on-the-street report from here, we've actually experienced most of our support growth (attendance was up 20% last year and 5% this year) among youngsters. In fact, the last few years, you can't find any youth football events around the GTA that the Argos haven't been involved in. It's a long slog to grow a generation of supporters, but it's fun to see so many kids and youths in BMO. That's reason 1 why I don't want Pinball as commish. We need the continuity, particularly with the recent shift in MLSE ownership share.

  5. Thoughts on season to date.....even tho not finished, and even tho a Cup win at the end is the marker of success I am of the thought that regardless of what occurs now this has to be considered a success of sorts We have effectively had a pretty significant transition, tho not by choice it did happen....and somewhat alleviates the fear of going into a 2025 home Cup run that we would have leaned and relied on this aging and underperforming corp We will re-sign both Lawler and Schoen...you can bank on that and with the 3 young kids showing they have the chops....and another off-season and TC of growth we in good shape there, and any new body that blows the lights out in TC/Pre-season is just another bee in the hive for us Defensively I think we have found our 2 legit ends to compliment WJ in Garbutt and Person's....even tho you all havn't seen him take a rep...he's the real deal nd he was a legit NFL pass rush specialist prospect...they wanted him to gain weight for that role but he didnt go that route and he is a perfect blend for the CFL....So again even with Haba here and anyone else we bring in....we will have depth...Haba is a real nice 4th guy. WE have those 2 legit ends with WJ...and just let him loose to attack the QB with 60% of snaps...look out...Thats where he thrives D-line wise...Fox..Woods..Adams with another yr...only gonna get better...And logic has to tell you Lawson takes Thomas' snaps...god willing and again...thats a net positive....I don't hink Schmeck fits in there and Samson or possibly a 2025 draft pick or a Global takes his spot . That was a serious area of concern...last yr...going into this yr and a wholesale change for 2025 would likely not been the best way to go....and the fear of just rolling withThomas would have been the way Osh leans....Be interesting what Osh does with him next yr...is he even signed? Linebacker to...with Jones..Ayers...Cole...we are good...anyone who comes in and pushes them out...even better, and Biggie wont be back to Labour day earliest...and even then..age...body type...i have a hard time seeing him being in the mix...and id we cant unearht a new stud...Wilson as the DA...limited packages...depth...ST leader....we could do way worse We now need to tweak/fine tune the defense for most part in 2025...People love Holm but he really is the weak link...Griffin would offer a lot more...already does....and we are pretty good at finding DB's...I would think a role for Holm would be the 6th...and Nationalized and used in various spots....mainly that role they tried with Hallett....as he was continuously burned...interesting enough we haven't seem much of that of late so obviously the coaching did notice that....now time to notice SchmeckThomas I think our area of focus has to be mainly O-line and returner in free -agency/draft/scouting... I am fine with Bryant as he has not regressed and during the streak he was lights out...But there will be others in free agency to go after, and I can't not see us going after some....I would also be fine with Neuf back, but in the role of Wallace/Eli....and if Grant is available....I'd be all over that again...I'd also bring Lucky back to compete in camp all in all....we in good shape heading into 2025

  6. Definitely would not. The rules expert is wrong again (and again and again and again...). Article 2 — Automatic review triggers (Potential for game to be paused) When the game is paused for an auto-review, the list of standard reviewable aspects will be reviewed in relation to the below scenarios and additions. A play where any score has been ruled on the field. A play where a potential score occurred but was not ruled, e.g. A ball carrier ruled out of bounds near the goal-line, or an incomplete pass ruling at the back of the endzone. A turnover (Fumble lost or Interception) has been ruled on the field. Perhaps it's time to stick to just being wrong about the CBA.

  7. Yeah I'm not sure how the hell they ruled that incomplete. He was clearly in bounds. And no one saw the ball touch the ground (because it didn't). The refs just ****** that call up big time. And anything that close, should be looked at by the command centre. Just like when they overturned a call earlier this year because of illegal formation. That still pisses me off!!!

  12. Did I ever tell you about the time Rolan Milligan took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally Milligan takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half and sure enough someone constructs a bar around us. The day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. Milligan yelled over the roar of the flames, 'Always leave things the way you found 'em!'

  13. I think bc will win vs ssk. Then we will be spanking vaj but in a close game, leading to him being pulled for rourke. Bc with vaj is hands down better than ssk imo. I hear if you peel back his name plate on the jersey it says Dan Clark underneath.

  14. This one time Milligan intercepted 20 passes that he returned for TDs in one game, all while also making every tackle on special teams for a loss might I add. He also sold popcorn and soda. To Roland Milligan.

  15. oh that one, you mean a pretty text book penalty where the db got hands on a receiver too far down the field which is a penalty every ******* time it happens regardless of whether or not the receiver runs into the db first? That's what montreal is going to be pissed off about according to our expert contrarian? man oh man....

  17. There are markets other than Toronto that could use Pinball, and his grassroots appeal and focus. Therefore, it would suck for the Arblows but it would be the entire CFL's gain. I get what you are worried about though, in the CFL football wasteland of Toronto a guy like Pinball is necessary. Parents HAVE to take them with Chad "Diddy" Kelly lurking around.

  18. This is what drives fans nuts. If it was ruled an interception, it would’ve been automatically reviewed, but if it’s maybe an interception and not ruled as such, it’s not? That needs to change. And what the hell is the criteria for the CC to buzz down and intervene? They jump in on a random, pointless illegal motion that doesn’t really affect a play, but don’t feel it’s necessary when a turnover is missed? Come on.

  19. yeah...that was brutal and so obvious....and you forgot part of his name/legacy...it's Spitty McEyegouge....get it right!! lol

  20. Because there is honestly & literally zero consistency to whatever criteria they use to decide whether or not to get involved...and it's utter b*llsh*t and even if it isn't, it reeks of favouritism. Pride goeth before the autumn...or something like that.

  22. Neither do the refs or command centre.

  23. I don't know the rule, but I believe that it should be treated like any scoring or potential scoring play that automatically gets reviewed. Any turnover or potential turnover should be automatically reviewed.
    3 points
  24. Because it was ruled incomplete on the field it wasn't automatically reviewable. But to me should have fallen under the obvious screwup umbrella where they are allowed to jump in anytime. See: random procedure penalty against the Bombers in week 1.

  30. Plus the Riders have some guy named Milligan - I heard a bit of media chatter about him and he's apparently quite the player & is going to win every CFL award. But really though, this is my thinking as well. The Lions have not shown that they can play well at this time of year when playing outdoors so until they do, I'm hesitant to pick them to win. And if I'm wrong, it means the Riders lost so I'm good either way.

  31. Guy can't even get the Argos to be a decent franchise, why would you give him reigns to the entire league?

  32. On a clear and obvious mistake, other than penalties, the CC should be able to phone down and correct the call. I wouldn't want them bogging stuff down that requires multiple angles and 5 minutes to analyze but the interception was clear. obvious and could be determined as so very quickly beyond a shadow of a doubt. I can't imagine what transpired to not rule that an interception both by the on-field refs and upstairs. There was zero reason to even dispute that it may not be an interception. It was as clean as could be. The refs should be downright embarrassed already for bungling a potential turnover call that egregiously. CC getting it right doesn't embarrass them more. The proof of their incompetence is there either way.

  33. was the start of the game...My guess the incompetent goofs were not even in their chairs yet watching...and probably didnt even see it live
    2 points
  34. I think that needs to be done...real time footage of the discussion and reasoning for their decision...thats the only way we will see accountability, and likely the correct call more times than not....there is no accountability as it stands now...and a lot of the decisions are result of it I would also not even consider the risk of embarrassing the ref's either...that may just be the kick in the ass some of them need to do their job right...or get punted

  36. Fix it by micing the cc booth and letting them break down the replay as well as tsn. Don’t let them hide behind anonymity. Also grading official performances (including cc) and releasing them after each game (like mlb). Then simplify what they can and can’t review on their own and with a challenge. Finally, don’t have the CC exist to support the refs. Their primary job should be getting the call right not limiting embarrassment for refs. For a bonus point, add a couple camera specifically for the end zone, side line and line of scrimmage. Nothing crazy, some thing parallel to the lines from each end. Also give teams an official review per time out, and cap each review at say 2 minutes outside of the last 3. Last 3 let em have 3 minutes. Imagine what the league could do with a couple mid tier hobbyist drones, the line wire cam etc?

  37. The command centre incompetence is unfortunately a bigger story this year. Ever since they allowed that clear non-catch from McSpitty Williams against the Bombers, I have had no faith in them. Have no freaking idea how they could fix it either.

  38. they have stepped in a few times out of nowhere with some bizzare CC over turns....that one you mention being one....yet on a significant play that even to the initial naked eye looked like a clean pick...they just ignored it.....

  39. Worried about the Stampeders, gang. Fans were expecting that there would be major changes at the top at GM & HC. Team Prez Jay MacNeil walked out of his office today & said that Dickenson will be back as both HC & GM because he "deserves a chance to turn it around". On social media, fans by the dozens started screaming & posting they're not renewing their season tickets. Considering that there was only about 3,000 season ticket holders to begin with then this is serious ****. Once you lose these fans, it'll be awful hard to get them back. This team could fold. Murray Edwards who owns the Stamps refuses to spend any money on the team. He won't split the GM & HC duties so Dickenson stays. I was thinking today that it's the Calgary Stampeder Alumni who actually run the team. Hufnagel is a consultant who still wields a lot of power. Dickenson is his former OC & qb. Jay MacNeil was Dickenson's Center & Nik Lewis was Dickenson's receiver. Meanwhile STC Mark Killam has been in that position for nearly 25 years so Dickenson was a player on the team when Killam was his coach & then a coordinator under Dickenson. THIS... is exactly why when there is a coaching change, a clean slate is needed to start over so this kind of situation should never be allowed to happen.

If you fill every gap, you are still in a situation where the back is likely 1on1 in any gap he hits. Considering most teams run 1 decent sized lber max, the rb is basically 1on1 with a db sized player in a good 3 gaps. Which is a battle you expect a good rb to win more often than not. Run schemes today often seek to steal back a body too. That’s why teams run read plays, boot the qb, use jet motion, or what some teams are doing is motioning two guys in jet, then returning one to force defenders to spread out creating seams and gaps inside. When we pass twice and don’t pa, or semi frequently go empty back field. If we ran once with Brady, then threw an iso fade to some one like lawler and did that on every single red zone series we would have a drastically higher success rate. The problem is we often throw twice, don’t threat the run, and don’t throw into the end zone. We throw a screen or short pass and expect the wr to do the rest.

  46. The piss poor efforts of the CFL to grow the game at grassroots is felt across the country. Luckily the Bombers pick up the slack in Manitoba. We have more initiatives sponsored by NFL than CFL. Most kids aside from a few diehards gravitate to NFL. Officiating at all levels is awful. CFL is pulling up refs who don't know basic rules and struggle at amateur level. Ambrosie has to wear this mess but especially the CFL level with the Command Centre debacles on an almost weekly basis.

With gratitude and forever appreciation for ever and ever, Amen ps having Austin Matthews score an own goal would also be a nice touch if you don’t mind. Thank you.
