  1. No need for spin unless you are Buck. The fans agree with Brady.

  2. Dolegala to Osh: Should I start warming up coach? MOS: Over Zach's dead body!

  3. Mike

    All things considered...

It IS his place to say something. He’s a leader on this team and the engine that keeps our offense running. I’m glad he spoke up, especially given that the coaching staff won’t ever explain a single thing publicly. I appreciate someone questioning the process.

  4. Can I just say, if you don't want to see fans venting about a Grey Cup loss and speculating on what went wrong, maybe just don't come to the boards two days after the game.

  5. I wouldn't be married to Jones at linebacker... he did a nice job and illustrated how far bighill has fallen but I think you can do better there but if not Jones can be solid.

  6. Go back and look at the tape is basically a "handled internally" response.

  7. Some great quotes in Friesens latest piece from Jefferson and Bryant who both want to say. Virtually everyone says that winning the cup at home has always been the goal and they want to be here for it. Said it's a huge incentive.

  8. Yeah I wouldn't read too much into that tweet. He also said he's never asked for anything crazy and expects it to be the same this year/ https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2024/11/19/rooting-for-a-returning-roster

  9. in terms of 2025 roster too....I'd be more than fine moving on from Castillo...great guy and teammate....but getting a Canadian or a Global to do it free's up a key DA position for us where we could have it be so useful to us. Salary as well that could be saved could be the difference of keeping a key piece

  10. Please hire buck Ryan. HMU I’ll pay the lions fine for salary cap overages this year if you do.

  11. Willie will be at Kyle's door first in line to negotiate before the end of this week, Neuf will be right behind him. Neither uses an agent, but they both know the earliest bird gets the worm and asking for too much ends careers quickly. Willie is invested in his own brand, he's probably not going to throw that all away after establishing himself and his family so solidly in Winnipeg.

  12. Brady just sounds like he's being honest. Guy wears his heart on his sleeve so you get comments like this which I am fine with. Honestly better than the platitudes others give us.

  13. With the exception of a couple of games where Randolph was starting at guard, they were starting 6 Canadians on Offense (3 OL, 2 Rec, 1 RB) Ford in the secondary, Kramdi at LB That's 8 Canadians without even using the nationalized American rule Thomas and Schmeckel could easily have been used as rotational pieces only, with an American being Lawson's primary replacement I'd never claim to be an expert, but that approach would sure make sense to me

  14. We started more than the required number of Canadians though.

  15. Lmao true. Raise enough to upgrade the apple and road map to first class and steak with a side of gtfoh for a few guys. Take him back in a heart beat. I really like buck as a guy. Wasn’t a fan as a qb but I loved his heart and determination. I have a lot of love for zach too. But it’s time.

  16. Its actually disturbing that after the first pick they just sat back and watched everything burn rather than trying literally anything else.

  17. I desperately want Bighill to retire and become a coach. I don't want him on any other team (not because of his play sadly, but he's been absolutely awesome in the community in WPG. Especially around youth sports) and I don't want him playing on the bombers. Hopefully he realizes the $$ just isn't there and that coaching is his best way to stay around the sport.

  18. On the flip side, can we ask Zach to give back some money because there's one game he never seems to show up for.
    4 points
  19. How about say nothing? He'll be playing somewhere. Issue with him is he's a great player when he plays 2/3 of snaps and a pretty mediocre one as an every down player. Sure the capability is there for spectacular plays like that, but down after down he's just getting ground into a pulp.

  20. Sweet he is offering to sign at a discount! He was great in the Grey Cup, but we can pay Agudosi to stand still with his arms up if that's all Younger is going to use him for.

  21. Good for him if he does make the NFL. I’m not worried about Walters holding money back. **** it, go over the cap. Honestly if they don’t win the home GC, it’ll be a full on rebuild anyway. This is the year to throw money around like crazy, 2013 riders style.

  22. Please keep the young guys... Holm + Ford are a must. Schoen and Lawler would also be priorities. I'm assuming Willie and Bryant stay. Many of those other guys can take off... they are either old and not worth an upgraded contract. Or they are very mediocre and were invisible for long stretches of the season and were not trending upwards. I really want an upgrade on the front 7 for our D. I remember as a kid guys like KD Williams would just wreck havok and take over games and make big plays on a frequent basis. It felt like none of our front 7 ever created turnovers or came up with sacks when they were needed. All of those guys on the d-line that they swapped through last season would make a play once in blue moon , none of those guys played better then a broken Jackson Jeffcoat, none of the linebackers stood out or even were solid like a guy like Jovon Santos-Knox that we used to have, and need I say anything about Jake Thomas? Out of all our free agency years recently... this one is actually one of our best. We have lots of dead weight to clear out and just maybe they'll make a splash and sign young quality players to fill in. I'm more then willing to have a year with young guys going through growing pains then for us to trot out broken old guys who just can't get the job done anymore. If we end up keeping Bighill and Thomas next season then I officially will give up before the first game is even played. I will be extremely disappointed.

  23. You know. Props to Jake on a long career. A career only spent with Winnipeg. But it’s time to hang ‘em up. Let em go. Just enough. Dude gets prime Doug Brown reps all season. It’s just ridiculous. But props to him for sticking with one team. Maybe out of stupidity on our part the last 2 3 seasons now.

  24. Jesus christ, 5 stitches to a finger and he played... never should have been allowed to go back in. Might not have mattered in the end but no way you can expect him to throw in that condition

  25. Apologies if this has been posted already, but Brady didn't even know why he got lack of touches:

  26. Prior years have shown we can win with average receivers and a great ol. Our decision makers decided we should start moving money from ol to wr and it hasn’t worked out. I’m a big believer in building from the line out on both sides of the ball. I really hope we get the best ol money can buy this offseason and ride our run game again.

  27. Okay, I'll acknowledge that I may have misunderstood what you said. I just am questioning what is going on? You can never trust O'Shea to be forthcoming. Some coaches are but he's not. Walters doesn't address the media & fans as much as he used to. Miller operates in the background & vary rarely talks to the media about the status of the team. I don't subscribe the In O'Shea We Trust mantra because of some of the coaching decisions that were made last year regards to playing guys like BA, Bighill & Schoen who were hurt. Some of the off season moves we made last year need to be questioned, like letting Janarion Grant go & keeping other veterans around like our old favourite punching bag Jake Thomas. So, Walters isn't immune from criticism, either. I want to see real changes. I don't want vets who are coaches favourites to stay on the roster because O'Shea doesn't want to make a change. This team is aging out & changes need to be made. This may be a watershed off season where a bunch of personnel & coaches move on which means more than a few players will as well.

  28. There are a million LBs kicking around down south. That said, if we could somehow spend big on someone like Wynton McManis I wouldn't be opposed to that.

  29. Go back and look at the tape of playing players in Grey Cups that are too injured to play.

  30. My favourite thing about Osh saying he has to go back and look at the tape is that nothing ever changed

  31. age and use....I agree WJ be ideal in the 175-185k max....with a supporting cast..... A wasted spot on a high priced kicker definitely needs to be doing all 3 jobs.....but man thaT DA spot could e better served to allow us to add that additional monster dline guy....a second starting calibre inside linebacker....or a legit burner wide receiver.

  33. A genuine question I would like to ask MOS and crew is other than short yardage and your starting QB unable to go because physically he can't return due to serious injury, what circumstances do you and your coaching staff use to determine there is a need to make a switch at QB in-game? For sure there's a better way in asking this question, but is it reasonable to ask this flavor of question without being mocked that I think I know more than MOS and his crew know? I think it's a reasonable question to receive some specifics even if we have made 5 GC appearances in a row (hopefully 6 next year) which I am forever thankful.

  35. Argos had one chance of pulling off a win in 2022 with their backup qb after the starter hurt his hand.... Bottom line collaros with a numb index finger and a glove wasn't going to win.

  36. With all due respect. There's no way anyone but the coaches know if WJ deserves a raise or not. Did he perform above expectations given his role? No one on here knows the answer to that. It's obvious he wasn't being used as a traditionally DE. So we can't use traditional stats to say whether or not he played above his expectations.

  37. I want Willie J back but if he thinks he deserves a raise after the season he had he’s mistaken. You’re absolutely correct. He was outstanding during the grey cup but took way too many plays off during the regular season.

  38. Reading more comments from Brady, Stanley and Neufeld this morning. I said during (after?) the game that if I was Brady I would feel betrayed and pissed and it's sounds like he isn't the only one. Fire Buck Pierce.

    All things considered...

Like players....coaches too have to be held accountable....a player messes up...underperformed...usually they get yanked...except here it seems if you are a vet...or a player the coach has some odd love for...same should hold true with coaches..they are a team...right? Kudos dor speaking up...more could have been said...I bet more will

  40. I see that as his role...jumbo guy on both sides of ball...roster depth on both sides of ball....he is really good in the offense short yardage...credit where credit is due there

  43. Man, and there it is. I'll relate to this in the best way I can within my vocation. How many announcers...CFL or otherwise...can you say the exact same thing about? Rod Black was the same Rod Black when he started as when he walked away. Suitor is the same Suitor today as he was 10 years ago. Dustin Neilsen will be the same...with the same calls, inflections and vocal/grammatical crutches...5 years from now as today. You can obviously get away with that lack of reflection/change if you're naturally talented or have a significant depth of knowledge in politics/entertainment/sports depending on your milieu...but in athletics it spells doom whether an athlete or coach.

  46. it has become too comfortable and leisure land here....grit and grind guys were not retained, or replaced...well not enough of the right ones....and well we got soft and weak I'd be pissed an ys I would speak up about it....answers need to be heard/explained....if coaches even have a valid one....and trust me....he is not the only player upset...miffed...mad...call it what you want I'd like to see a reporter here....grow a set and invite the coach/coaches for a sit do a fireside chat....with the questions and observations many have had....and have them answer them....and or justify things....that be very very interesting...and telling....

  47. I can't fault him. I bet he may end up regretting saying that to the media cause I'm sure it'll be spinned...but I like that he said it. Hopefully it's another wake up call for everyone that changes need to be made.

  49. I think Buck needs to go, MOS needs a come to Jesus talk with Walters and Miller and Walters needs to be ruthless this off season which starts with a purge.
