  1. I burst out laughing when I read this.... The arrogance of this *******...

  2. Thomas was really good as a depth piece for most of his career, and for a while very good as a starter who rotated. I don’t think any one denies this. The problem has been in the time since stove left we’ve gone from using him wisely to using him like he’s an elite American nose tackle in his prime. And he’s not any of those things. If you look at our dl play in the era from stove back to even poop and early jj/wj, we had tons of great play and guys who all rotated a lot. Since stove we rotate far more sparingly and the line has been a fraction of its former self. Rotation (lack there of) is a much bigger problem than Jake. We had soo many highly effective guys in the rotation era. Craig roh, Kongbo, hansen, Nevis, stove, Thomas, sayles, Bryant, okpalaugo, even guys like corney and walker had their uses. That’s not including the Jeff’s. That’s a ton of guys bringing strong value from 18-21. 22-24 we got wj, maybe one total season from Jeff coat, sayles for a year, and Lawson. Part of that is we went from air lifting in nose tackles and 3 techs all camp till we found gems (when we didn’t start with them) to settling for what we had. This last years camp was the first time we got back to that. Continuing, has to mean moving away from every down Jake. Or half downs Jake.

  6. The ****? How do you give a guy who hasn’t been a proven starter and made your offence worse when he went in that kind of money? I don’t get it. I could see giving him a deal with incentives to go up to that if he hits like 4k+ passing, 1k rushing, 25-30 passing tds min etc. but his base should be 150-200 max. and front loading that deal in 24 but with it going against the 25 cap? I wonder if mbt/masoli/fajardo retires, goes to ufl or takes a back up jobs. Over all level of talent at starting qb in the league probably won’t go up this coming year, but it looks like the depth will spread around more evenly.

  7. You can't tell me Schmeckel & Thomas are better than any American options that they have. Then there's Kolankowski at Center....

  8. And if BC didn't sign Rourke then Adams may have also had the MOP season. It wasn't like Fajardo was dominating, he was playing steady decent football. Harris had similar stats then him and I don't think anyone considered him to be the MOP.

  9. That last goal wouldn't be stopped by anyone. It was a wicked release just under the bar. The issue was that the Jets let him walk in and shoot it. Really lazy on th backcheck.

  10. They should play Comrie more. Helle is getting over worked already plus the 4 nations cup. They gonna need to play comrie more.

  15. I can see it if you are in a good spot...actually on a PR....With work in practice as prep tp possible playing...but bouncing from work out...to workout....for the hope of maybe getting a week or 5 on a PR...all the while not getting paid....whats the point? YOu get paid if you on a PR for that week leading up to game day.....there is no compensation going to work outs and waiting for that "call" Kyrie would be the ideal DA guy ala what Cole....Ayers were Thomas....whats the point?...He has no upside...only more degradation....eats up valuable SMS resources...well above the league minimum and even with limited reps...are just wasted reps.....Blocks developing a younger guy...Samson...or a new draft pick....With Lawson back he more than covers a National DT to be used in rotation....Guy will actually be impactful. he was impactful and if it's not an actual ratio requirement a below adequate back-up usnt required and that National roster spot would be better served with a national receiver/db/hybrid LB type to strengthen overall roster depth....better yet a National punter so we can pooch Punter guy and use that spot on Karamoko or Ogbveon....or if we rustke up a decent global interior dlineman...they are out there...but sadly Osh is gonna Osh and likely we hear Thomas and Bighill re-ups before Jan....which is nauseating to even consider yup...as a depth/package specific guy he would be ideal...and a good back-up as we integrate his replacement....and he definitely does get everyone in the right spots on defence....Would/will make an excellent coach too, so to start that transition there as well would be a smart move safety....SAM...hybrid jack/edge guy....any of the 3

  16. See if it was just Jake I'd believe it, but honestly I think they were stuck on the idea of the DL having a Canadian at dt and an end who rotated in. Otherwise why keep schmekel around? Why keep Bennett on all year last year and have Hubert taking big reps early this season?

  19. how I look at it is that this crap he spews about they all here cause they are starter caliber...and because they give us a chance to win ...they here in the building for a reason.....is something he doesnt even believe in himself....as he shows he rarely lets a guy get a chance to play unless someone has had a limb fall off....ZC finger almost fell off....but just wasn't enough So if he doesn't even believe it...why should fans?? exactly this....when guys are given the chance to play they can do great things....goes for the second and third stringers too...no?....and if they have no faith in them doing something great...why they on the roster??....Contradicts his previous statements that they all here cause they give us a chance to win...so why wont you play the healthy guys over an injured..... argos also let their best players play....and will yank a gy for sucking...even if it rufffles said guy's sucking feathers...as we have seen with some squabbling on their sidelines...that being said....it has allowed them to win the 2 cups theyhave been in recently.....maybe after being taught 2 straight lessons from them, maybe we took some notes???

  20. Just to do a fly by here, I don't think it was primarily this, ie.,starting JT for ratio help although it obviously helps for other positions. Based on the things MOS has said and demonstrated with certain players, I think regularly starting and giving reps to JT is the difficulty MOS has with tough decisions needed for players who have given so much to the BB's but aren't the best option at times to help put the team in the best position to be successful.

  21. I remember that quote, because right after he mentioned how he's seen great performances out of guys when they were allowed to be great, or given the opportunity to be great...and it riled me up because the guy who should have been given that opportunity was the MOP/MOC.

  26. Regardless. Helle is on pace to place Like 60 65 regular season games plus the 4 nations cup. Comrie needs to play more. Helle can’t play 75 games b4 the playoffs start. And if you don’t trust Comrie then spend a million on a real backup who can play more then. They didn’t when they had a backup tho so doubt they do now.

  29. The Argos cut both Priester and McFadden this season before bringing both back. Mgmt made some questionable choices early on in the secondary, but eventually corrected them. Both guys played in the 2022 Grey Cup; IIRC Priester missed all of 2023 with an injury but McFadden was a regular that season.

  30. Not sure what you mean. Who is "angry"? And you make it sound like he's choosing between life and death. That's crazy. It's just a different city he has to play in. That's the job.

  31. Jacob Trouba speaks out after being traded by the Rangers. “I’ll be honest, I was put in a position this summer to make a decision between my career and my family,” said Trouba on Friday. “I chose my family. I would choose my family 100 times over again. I don’t feel bad about that. I was happy about it. I don’t like that it was made public necessarily or how everything unfolded so publicly, but I guess that’s part of New York and what happens. It made it difficult to play with that hanging over everything. And today, the result is the result. I guess I’m happy with moving forward but maybe not overly thrilled with how it went down. In my opinion, things could have been handled better. I’m not blaming anybody or anything. How it happened, I felt it was kind of an unfortunate ending to a lot of good times in New York.” Hey buddy, you're a hockey player. You play where they tell you to play, or you retire and go do something else. You don't get to just decide where you want to play, especially if that team doesn't want you any more. Grow up you putz!

  37. Kyrie idk. I don’t like how slow he is to get back up to speed after he recovers from the constant injuries. But if he’s cheap and behind ayers etc I’m ok with it. Biggie and Thomas are the big ones for me. Thomas will certainly happen, and I just threw up in my mouth thinking about that. But I do believe a healthy Lawson takes more snaps than him at one dt spot. If jakes playing 15 snaps a game range, I won’t whinge… too loudly. I’d really love to see woods, Lawson, adams, and Garbutt/wj on the field together. With Garbutt in that group good luck running.

  43. we had to at DB and for a certain extent receiver.....but Dline...LB....We just ignore the fact we are weak and sub par because Osh has his fav's....his perception the guys are top rate.....and thats that.....until his mind set changes somewhat...it will be yr after yr of 2..3 questionable guys rostered....excessive use of additional Cdn's even when not needed and not the best option and long in the tooth vets...who server next to no purpose anymore other than blocking/developing new blood....just something we gonna have to deal with as long as he is here....sure we had success in 2 cup wins....put together a couple of all-time great reg. season records....but that was when the top line talent was still top line and best in the league...3....yrs ago now....we don't have that anymore and didn't properly re-stock the cupboard....and in the instances where we added a body or two it was out of necessity (season ending injury/guys leaving) not because we chose to go with the younger...better guy with upside. Flame away about my take on it all you want...some of you will as history has shown but we have not managed our roster nor put any forward thinking/progression plan in place for the most part....Hopefully last yr was the start of it and it continues this winter with not re-signing some guys...and going after some legit free-agent guys...even if they have an edge and are a bit nasty....the culture in the room will take care of itself and guys will fall in line....we dont need 46 choir boys

  44. So here's the disconnect... you see it as inability to find better players, everyone else sees it as reluctance to tell vets to go away. Best DT combo the team used all year was woods and adams (where did they get those guys again?) Yet they stuck with the idea they needed a Canadian at the position so it was lots of Thomas.

  45. The only areas we have recruited well is receiver and DB. It shouldn't be this damn difficult and two + years to find anyone on the d-line who can outplay a pylon like Jake Thomas. We shouldn't have to trot out a completely shot lber like Bighill and only replace him once he's hurt himself. We shouldn't have to rely on a guy like Kyrie Wilson who is a band aid. Back in the day they had a dline with Jeffcoat, Nevis, Stove, Kongbo, and where a guy like Roh was the depth and he himself would get 6 - 8 sacks per year. Jake Thomas was 8 years younger and was purely depth and yet somehow him being much older now equals him being our starter? All of those guys are way better then anyone not named Willie that was on our d-line this past year. Maybe we have talent in other areas and the coaches are not playing them (i.e. oline) but it is concerning that guys who are clearly on the decline like Neufeld are not being pushed out. Why didn't they try out more guys at returner? Clearly Whitehead isn't the same anymore, why not cut him after it failed and bring in new faces who could be dynamic and explosive and make a difference? Why waste a spot on Josh Johnson and Lucky Whitehead when they could bring in I'd assume dozens of guys who could receiver and return? Why couldn't they find a punter? Our punter was last in the league for average and by a decent margin. Another odd stat is that he was the only punter that had 0 singles. Which leads me to believe that he never had the leg power to coffin kick it in the corner. This team is aging and struggling to reload. In our prime we had years where we had to make "tough" decisions on who to cut in training camp. The last three training camps it seems like they have all been a joke and we haven't had to make a "tough" cut in a long while. This is concerning for me. God forbid that Brady gets hurt because I think with this current iteration that one big injury like that equals 5 - 6 less wins in the season.

  47. My son Tyler lost two years of eligibility in the NCAA because he played two years with the Rifles. Originally, he was only going to lose one. The NCAA felt Junior football was a "semi pro" so they took away two years of eligibility. They had a dumbass bureaucrat in Indianapolis who never knew what junior football was making stupid decisions. SFU appealed but lost. Meanwhile, in U Sports you can win a Grey Cup as a player & still play all 5 years of eligibility if you aren't too old. It's a joke. Then to make matters worse, my son had high BP even though he was in shape as a player. It's simply genetics. Our family has a history of strokes & heart attacks. He really has to watch himself as he is still on BP meds. He's now 30 lbs lighter than when he played qb at SFU. As a player, he was feeling pretty good health wise but in his second year playing the NCAA ruled that Tyler's BP meds were performance enhancing drugs & was told he couldn't take them anymore & still play. The team doctor spoke to someone from the NCAA & said that he needed these meds to maintain his health. They again denied any appeal. So, Tyler had to see a specialist in Vancouver. They changed up his meds but for 2 years & a year or so after he had finished playing, he felt lousy. Headaches, lethargy, being tired. His BP at times was too high. Now, he's back on the meds that worked for him before once his playing days ended. I think the NCAA is an overbearing piece of **** organization. Messing with someone's eligibility because they lack the proper info to make the right decision is one thing. Messing with a player's health by forcing them to change meds is another.

  48. Harris was your best option. So much for this off season being an earthquake type event with qbs moving around. I think Davis Alexander agent blew it. He would have been a sought after commodity in free agency & would have been able to get a more lucrative contract in free agency. Not much out there other than Fajardo.
