3Downnation says it's $260k (plus up to $6k in bonus) next year and $270k (same bonus) the following. https://3downnation.com/2024/12/19/b-c-lions-re-sign-star-canadian-dl-mathieu-betts-through-2026/ I think that's about right for him.4 points

Matthew Betts re-signs with the Lions, It'd be nice to know what he's being paid. https://www.cfl.ca/2024/12/19/all-betts-are-on-lions-extend-top-national-pass-rusher-through-2026/3 points -
I don’t think we go after a QB. We got Zach Jake and Wilson with prob Streveler. Prob see Grainger or a neg list guy brought in. More important spots to spend $$$ on. would love to see us grab a FA cdn oline like the Winnipeg kid out of Calgary and some DTs. But first sign our own guys like lawler Willy Schoen and 1 of Dobson or Neufeld.3 points

Our training camp mark in that report card just isn't good enough. It irks me to no end the way O'Shea handles it. We need our players to be there at every practice if they are legitimately able to practice. O'Shea has to stop letting players like Neufeld & other miss the entire camp because it's supposedly too hard on them. If players don't want to practice then they should retire or be cut. It's not a football resort. It's important prep for the season. That's on O'Shea for making it way too easy. Enough of the "He doesn't need to practice anyway". That has to stop. It should be, "Get on the field & practice". No way anyone who misses all of training camp & two exhibition games should be in the starting lineup on Opening Day. I don't care who he is. Another 0-4 start may turn into a 4-14 season.2 points -

So Rourke at 750 k and Betts at 260 k, that's over a million for two guys. Not sure how they afford a lot of their roster.2 points -

From the Sportsnet staff: 'To say the Nashville Predators‘ slow start to the season is confusing, after a summer filled with notable acquisitions, would be an understatement. Just ask general manager Barry Trotz. “Sometimes you can’t explain the unexplainable,” he said Thursday when asked by reporters about the Predators’ 9-17-6 start to the year'. I'll take a stab at explaining it. You can't buy a Stanley Cup. You can't simply buy high priced talent expecting them to gel automatically and integrate with their existing talent and work as a well oiled machine. I know it's petty but really hoping the Predators continue to crash and burn. No sympathy here.1 point -

No idea why guys like Alexander & Adams were in such a hurry to sign. Alexander could have got more in free agency than he did signing that new Als contract. In Adams case, he wasn't a free agent but like every other team he's been on, his agent has allowed them to walk all over him. Taking a bit less to sign with the Stamps??? Like WTF dude, after what the Lions did to you & the desperate way the Stamps needed you, you should have held out for more. Instead, the same thing that happened to him with every team he played for will happen again at some point. I just hope we sign a decent OC. Not sure if hiring from within is the answer.1 point -

Can't help but think Buck may have stepped in a bucket, with the SMS handcuffs already in place, high player disgruntlement and the possibility of an owner swinging his **** around. Vancouver might turn out to be a bad move for his family if the stay is short.1 point -

With Rourke on offence and Betts on defence who needs any other players right? This team is a bit of a joke with how much money they have to pay players to re-sign there. A lot of money for two players who’ve had a season of dominance in the cfl and then some ordinary play.1 point -

Faj will probably restructure his deal. There’s no starting spots available and honestly Edmonton behind an inexperienced Canadian is his best bet to play. I will say if I was Winnipeg and I’m looking for a QB, they prob aren’t but if they are, MBT.., he’s kind of the same mold as Zach.1 point

The last time I went (Summer of 2023) the service was extremely slow , the food wasn't good, and the portions were shrunk massively. My two sides were served each in bowls that were nearly as small as the little paper cardboard ketchup bowls that you get at McDonalds. Post COVID each time we had gone we had terrible service waiting 45 minutes+ despite the restaurant only having a few patrons. I will say the catering experiences were really good with them and each time we have used them for parties it has been a big hit. I think that was Smoking Hawg at Harbour View? That was the first and only BBQ restaurant that I've gone to not have french fries or chicken tenders. We went once and the food was bland and they only had one bbq sauce that you could use. The meat was cooked perfectly though. It closed quickly because harbour view is basically a ghost town and parking in winter is a nightmare (5+ minute walk). Loveys was great when the main owner was in, when he wasn't in the quality seemed to drop off sharply. They had a bunch of kids in the kitchen and if memory serves me correct lots of complaints about the owner constantly rotating staff and mistreating them. Either way Loveys was always busy when we used to go and seemed to be successful since everyone I knew would go and liked it.1 point -

No doubt. I’m not making that currently. Maybe with a big bonus but not quite. 70k is a solid wage here in Winnipeg in my opinion. Maybe not in Vancouver or Toronto tho. But my 400 000 dollar home goes for 1.5 million in Vancouver so.1 point

70K is pretty much what a lot of people take home...after deductions, income tax, etc. - for a full year of work. 70K for 6 months work, with meals and housing allowance provided...is not a bad deal Working out shouldn't prevent anyone from having an off-season job I disagree. I'd wager most of them have an off-season job.1 point
