  1. I'm going to get this in before I forget, a Happy New Year to all. May 2025 bring us a Bomber Grey Cup win at PAS in November.

  2. That's flattery for hodge lol. To be fair, I was defending biggie last year till his late injury. That is really when the wheels fell off him. Before that you'd get the, "Hes lost his speed" argument from randos grasping at straws every soo often. It really isnt the case. Biggie is cooked. Maybe with rehab and more specialized role he has a good year in him left. But it is a big risk and one that we shouldn't be taking. Losing 3 grey cups in a row that we were favored in, in progressively worse fashion is reason to grab some pitch forks. Expectations are, and should be higher than that. If we got beat on star power, that'd be one thing. But getting out coached repeatedly in the biggest game of the year is bad.

  3. I'm going to try to stick to my New Year's Resolution - if the Bombers make it to a sixth straight Grey Cup (I can't believe it even as I type it as it is quite possible this will happen) this year, I'm not going to watch the game live. I'm going to wait until I see the score, and only watch the game if they win. I can't take a fourth year in a row of disappointment. That's what the Jets are for lol....

  4. Bombers D was ******* good. Even in the grey cup, but the reality is that you still need an offense to do their share in the CFL to have a hope.

  5. Why do people think they're Pred commentators? This is the Amazon/Prime crew that does every game for them on Mondays...

Nailed it. And honestly we wouldn’t have done any better vs the ALs.

  7. We had already lost 2 games to the Argos, featuring total ineptitude on offense....expected some adjustments....then lost the Cup to them.....with bascially, the same crap. Double Disappointment

  8. Bang on.....Mike O has a lot of faith in players of his ilk.....tough as nails and 'never say quit' kinda of guys....only thing is he has a blind spot for players who have too many miles on them and seems to be expecting a 'miracle'....Biggie was a great signing for us and he has played his heart out BUT when it's time ....it's time.....I'm sure he knows/sees that, even if his head coach can't or won't

  9. Like I said, you need an offense to do their share. That first argos game, the offense fumbled a bunch in scoring range and had that dodgey third down spot... and the defense was still good enough in that game it took an error the cfl had to admit to for the argos to score enough to win. For the amount of money spent on offense last season their performance throughout the season was nowhere near good enough.

  10. I think prior to that injury the general consensus was bighill needed to be 100% healthy to play at an acceptable level. Dude hasn't really been healthy though. Lotta city miles on that body.

  11. Last season I didn't feel like our team was ever dominant. Even when we were struggling in the previous seasons we still had guys who could create turnovers and where the team could put away others with grinding them down on O. Last year we didn't have big play makers showing up game in and game out (Brady being the exception).

  12. The funny thing is we get a hard time from other fans saying without Helle Jets are bottom feeders completely ignoring the fact we could use the same argument with their teams best players. It’s laughable. We invested in goaltending, other teams chose to invest in other areas. That’s what GM’s are paid to do and see where the chips fall from their decisions.

It’s a team effort. It just helps to have the best goalie. Jets are built on depth tho.

  17. Yeah. We really needed to adjust his role and get him some one who could bang in side eating blocks a couple years ago. Let him play wil and drop back more than rush. But we just kept feeding him to OL year after year.

I never felt that way....was just more of a glossing over of the issues with some wins....but the issues were still there and ready to bite...and chomp chomp is exactly what happened...we were basically a team getting by with 1/3rd of the units (defence) being dominant...the other 2 were middling at best and severely out coached....but we slithered into the playoffs and grey cup...and the status quo was deemed good enough...and it wasn't....that was my take going into the last 3rd of season and play-offs and was pretty accurate...and to be honest it's a good thing we played a team with a brain dead HC leading them in the WF....

  23. Stanley is gradually, slowly getting better, making some smart plays when there’s limited pressure, he’s a big body with a physical presence the Jets need on D but, and there’s always a but especially here with this player, teams are exposing his lack of speed and his slowness to react to a play unfolding (especially when he is on the pk). His inability to consistently box out his man is troubling, his knowing when to pinch and when not to, his positioning all need vast improvement to play at this level. You’re never comfortable watching him when teams are forechecking and applying pressure.

The past couple pages of this thread really showcase the revisionist history of a lost Grey Cup (which I understand people are still upset about...) but man... After the West Final, having lost, like, 1 of our last 12 or something (??), there was a real sense that we were dominant and going to crush whoever we played in the GC.

  25. This is a case that illustrates stats don't tell the whole story, can't convince me the Bomber D was physically better than the Argos D, which could be due entirely to their superior D-line play.

Again ,what does Arniel see in Stanley???? And is Samberg due back anytime soon? That Prime crew was less than spectacular imo.

Tried the new Stacked pancake place in Madison square yesterday. They are still getting their feet under them but service was reasonable and food portions enormous. I have high hopes for this one, ate atone in Vaughn a couple weeks back and their GF waffles was best I’ve had at a breakfast place.

I was definitely impressed with Coughlan last night. Stood out for the right reasons, unlike Stanley. Moved the puck really well and seemed smart and efficient

    Game 38 : Crashville

With the 2 injuries on the blue line to better players, this is the only time Stanley should be in the lineup. Nice shutout win, my only real question is will Nashville put up another banner for not scoring? On an unrelated note. I don't hate Nashville like I used to. But the hate for Minnesota, Vegas and St Louis is still there. Also not a fan of the Leafs or Oilers either. That's more for their fanbases and TSN slurping them.

  30. The better question is why the hell is Logan Stanley still in the f****** lineup! And on the second pairing no less. have no idea what the hell they see in him.

Bombers 7 and 3 vs the west. 8 if you include the west final. Als 6 and 2 vs division Argos like everyone else except Sask who was 5 and 5 vs the division under 500 vs division. bombers D best in the league # 1 in points against by 40 points really. #2 Montreal gave up 40 more points than Winnipeg Bombers O sucked tho .we all should know that by now but scored 1 less point than Montreal’s O did in the regular season the 2 best teams were Montreal and Winnipeg tho in most categories

  36. I wish we had kept the field intact from canad inns and Osborne stadium. Such a great link to the past and opportunity to boost grass level infrastructure. https://3downnation.com/2024/12/30/one-veteran-pending-free-agent-every-cfl-team-should-kick-to-the-curb-in-2025/ Wasnt sure what to expect from this article for us, but he nailed it. When the cfl media types are onto the fact that we’ve been running out guys who are toast, you know it’s bad.

  37. Watching the Pred commentators do their thing among the Jet fans I’m reminded yet again how some human beings are so drawn to stand, gawk and/or do unusual things at television cameras. I find it funny yet depressing all at the same time.

  43. True, blasting past the inept Riders in the WF was a false flag. Just re-watched that game and 3 of the Bombers TD's were scored on dropped coverage, it was too easy. With the play of that secondary they really didn't deserve to get that far.
