  7. At the game, and the Filipino in-house band tonight leaves something to be desired. In my case, I desire a sharp shiv to jam into my eardrums to stop the agony.

  8. These games are absolutely pointless until a city steps up & says that it's willing to build a 25-30,000 seat stadium. they have to find events that will help build the game in the CFL cities we have. Like Calgary & Edmonton. The league's strength used to be in Alberta but now it's the CFL's weakness. Doing it in Victoria or Halifax is nice but a waste of time. Sorry Kate Bierness, guess no ROADDD TRIPPP east or west for you. Here's the thing that bothers me about TSN. They'll pack up their **** & do a remote panel from Hamilton or BMO Field 3 or 4 times a season but go nowhere else. Why in God's name would they not want to come to Winnipeg to experience the Banjo Bowl??? That should be on their Top 3 things to do as a panel & broadcaster of CFL games. Go to where the excitement is & where the big games are. Other than playoff & Grey Cups it doesn't get any better than what we experience that game at PAS. Yet they stay in Toronto. Then they get all excited about some half assed football game on the East Coast where they get to travel & party while half the fans are from Regina. At least in Victoria, the Lions fans from that city showed up.

  9. Please ante up for Holm. He’s the total package imo. His style of play and demeanour brings so much to this team. He is not dime a dozen.

  10. Difference was definitely personnel. We were used to having guys like Jeffcoat and Sayles who are explosive. Hall rarely rushed more than 4 and almost never more than 5. Not like we were running some zone blitz scheme. We've had the same issue for 2 years now. Saw a little bit of that from Adams and Woods, but nothing from the edge guys. Need to do a lot of work recruiting there on both sides of the border and with the Global players.

  14. I think too many people are expecting us to go back to the old 4-3 system with two insane bookended DEs. I don't know a lot about this stuff but it seems to me that with the 3-4 that Younger seems to prefer, it'll be the same as it was last year, not because of lack of talent but just scheme. We're not gonna see the heavy pressure we used to have under Hall... Or that's what I seem to understand if it anyhow. Also, this seems like more than I was expecting....

  15. And hope he plays with a motor like he did in the grey cup. His signing this early tells me we probably still gave him elite de money. Wish it would be a more team friendly deal. But if he brings an elite motor elite pay would be ok.

  16. So you’re saying there’s a chance.

  17. Apparently that was Helle's 3rd straight regular season shutout of the Avs. If only a certain playoff series hadn't happened, but an amazing stat nonetheless. He now also has as many shutouts this year as he has regulation losses (6).

  18. I don’t want to lose those guys, that’s just who I think will have the greatest draw in free agency. And I think we will struggle to give them heavy raises. The chances we bring both back is slim imo. That’d be the most expensive secondary in the league with what we pay Kramdi, plus the vets. It will be interesting to see how our scouting changes. You can see the difference post ringmaiden leaving. Especially on the lines and at lber. I do think that db is a very deep position, and we have a great system for the right guys to succeed in. Plus tremendous coaching. I think fit in our system and growth mind set are the biggest factors in our db prospects. We don’t need to find stars like Hefney, we need guys who fit and can come up to make plays on the ball/carrier. With bonds, griffin, nichols and Kramdi we are in a strong spot, at worst needing to replace 1 starter and the dime/nickle. Then With ba/kelly/cole for we have lots of flexibility and not a great need at S. We also have bridges and the lotto ticket that is Parker as experienced guys who can step up and push younger guys in camp. Rogers and dandy are also guys who have one camp under their belt and some pr time. Considering our modp in ford is a fa, and could be nfl bound or get a massive pay day, and holm our multi year step up guy also a fa it’s as good a position as we can hope to be in. Best case scenario imo, ford comes back and Cole wins the job at S. Griffin takes a starting hb role, then one of Parker bridges dandy rogers and the new rookies steps up for the nickle and one for the dime. Thanks. That’s actually really strong value. Very team friendly deal. I feel like his fa market would be over 200.

  21. I also don’t have a ton of faith, but I’m also of the mindset (and so far, it’s playing out that way) that we may have quite a few open spots this year so O’Shea might not have a choice

  22. Honestly, given the scouting additions we just made, I want them to have every opportunity to go out and find the next Orimolade instead of bringing one in on a big price tag. These are guys that can find impact front 7 guys

  24. If you saw the Detroit Lions defense totally take apart the Minnesota Vikings high powered offense last week you'd recognize it was the same style D that we used in 2021 & 22. We didn't need to blitz. Our Front 7 dominated. We had a great front 4 & linebacking crew. We had Jefferson & Jeffcoat on the ends as well as Steve Richardson at DT & we intimidated other teams. Our secondary was the best in the CFL at the time because of the players playing in front of them. Now, we have no pass rush, average linebackers when Bighill doesn't play & below average when he does. We are just a shell of what we were. As a team, we spend all our money on offensive players to the point where we let our defense & return game just shrivel up. We have to rebuild our D. Get back to a more physical style of play.

  25. I always call out Stanley for poor games gotta give him credit for a solid game. If he can learn to consistently play within his skillset he could be a solid 6th or 7th D.

    All things considered...

The thing is, history very strongly indicates that ZC would have been seen as the only option. Quite frankly, I have no reason to believe otherwise.

  32. By that time it was to late. They put him back in and he promptly threw a couple interceptions. Rookie or dole banana ain’t making a difference

  33. Kupari vs Gus is a conversation. Kupari is more offensive but worse defensively and Gus is the opposite. I still think the best 4th line Center on the Jets is Namesy 😉

  34. Really impressed with how Kupari played last night. With some polishing and some consistent play on his part the LA trade just gets better and better.

  35. Exactly, the index finger on the throwing hand is the most important finger. Their was no spin on his throws. The backup couldn't have been worse.

  36. Yep, if Yoshi was able to get $230k last year, at this stage of his career, Ivey probably left money on the table.

  37. It's the total for both years. 3DN says $170k in hard money for this coming season & $185k in 2026.

  39. Yup like saying Stanley is a good defenseman if he was in the AHL.

  40. I can’t find the article but Holm while not explicitly saying he was leaving the Bombers pretty much implied he was going to at least entertain offers from other teams.

  41. Hmmmm if we had tried all three choices, I.e., Zac starts, plays then gets injured, sit Zac, put in Rookie, doesn’t work, sit rookie, put in JD, doesn’t work, we lose. Then your above statement about we doomed would be factual. But we didn’t use our depth, we chose to stay with an injured finger hard to throw Zac. We will never know what would have happened i.e No one will ever know for sure regardless of one’s opinion of what would have happened if we had sat Zac and deployed our depth.

    All things considered...

It was a one score game at the time of Zac's injury. Also, I am not sure why everyone is talking like Toronto and Montreal were gimme. These were very good teams that would require us to step up and execute at a very high level in order to win. Some players let us down in that regard. BS to coaching being the biggest issue. It was a factor, for sure, but at the end of the day these teams beat us by capitalizing on our players mistakes, and our players didn't step up enough to make them pay for theirs.

  43. Guess he's not going to the Riders, after all.

  45. We would then have the tallest punter in the league!
    1 point
  46. Yep, he even went as far as to name some of Campbells assistants when he took over the L's. He had Sherrit as the DC (correct but for the wrong HC) and Killam as STC (partial points for getting the team right but the role wrong). TBF, he wasn't alone. Some Edmonton media guys were convinced the Campbell history there, made Rick as HC a no-brainer.

  47. Only way we can avoid more of the same is on Walters and if he takes some stuff right out of the equation

    All things considered...

Did the players dress injured guys over healthy options...nope...did players decide to keep a qb in Game who couldn't grip a ball...let alone throw? Nope Did players run a scheme that wasn't working and failed to change it with adjustments? Nope All things that contributed in losses...key things....who made those calls? Answr that Coach did say they all starters and are here purely cause they give us a chance to win games...yet even he doesn't follow that narrative
