  1. Bombers signed DB Quandre Mosely. 6 foot 1, played at University of Kentucky, bounced around the NFL for a couple of seasons. The guy seems to be pretty fast.

  2. Most of the kvetching that goes on around here relates to usage of players on D... and yet they D had been good... it's the offense that let's this team down the past few years... just an interesting observation to me.

With the receivers 2 years ago you can get away with dressing 1 guy who can't run but not 3. That just handicaps yourself too much.

His fit for our system is exceptional as well. Blue chip prospect for sure. Also a really big factor is hes a huge teams cover guy. Looks like a more athletic version of Cole/ayers. Much leaner than Ayers and a bit leaner than Cole, but same kind of tool set. I bet it’s gonna be Mike miller.

Last 3 years boils down to the offense, which is littered with highly paid stars did not do enough, not nearly enough. At least we know we will get a fresh perspective on it from the coaching this season so we shall see what happens. Honestly for me it still comes down to I'd have moved on from collaros before last season and gone with Brown.

  7. No, we lost because our stubborn coach played three starters who couldn't run. Not because a player isn't in the CFL anymore. Ambles would have been better than playing injured guys who couldn't outrun a 75 year old. Then, you'd think he have learned from the year previous but nope. zach Collarios mangled his finger while we had two qbs sitting on the bench. One that threw for over 2,000 yards the season previous. They were benched.

  8. For all his quirks Charles Roberts and his lack of professionalism at times (particularly around a certain Grey Cup game with a rookie qb getting his first start) I have a real hard time seeing him in anything but a positive light. Dude was electric as a player and did a lot of heavy lifting for this teams offense for a lot of years and took a beating doing it. He gave it all for this team.

  10. I don't think anyone is suggesting we lost because Ambles didn't play. I think its adding to the debate about dressing starters at 50%-70% versus dressing depth players at 100%.

  11. Blink gave 100 percent efffort on every snap and his fast twitch muscle was insane....like mentioned could stop/cut/change direction on a dime and be top speed in 3 strides...wasn't overly fast, but his acceleration allowed him to create distance immediately Also for a small fry who avoided the gym like the plague he was insanely strong and didnt matter...bigger guy...small agile guy he could juke em....run em over....or jusy power thru a mass of bodies....never went down on first contact definately a generational talent and if he came along in the mid to late 2000's...with training and expertise available now...and took advantage of it....man what could have been
    3 points
  12. This is literally what made him the player he was... one step and he made guys look stupid. Had a real knack for bouncing off first contact too. I think he'd be a similar player in any era to be honest. He was just able to make guys miss and that wouldn't change based on player type I don't think.

  18. It's January 20th, relax. For all we know he's got his guy already and it just isn't announced yet. As for the CFLPA gradings, I think we did pretty good. No red flags there. Where we scored high on them are in the areas of importance, and where we scored lower was on the nit-picky issues. You got your poop tied in a knot about OC, but it could very well be that our new guy has asked for time first before the announcement. CFL staffs do not regularly report for work until the end of February. I understand the trepidation about not knowing who will command our offence as a fan, but realistically we don't need to rush this process.

  21. Over the past several years we have had absolutely no problem attracting high profile players here and have done an outstanding job of retaining our own. I have no reason to believe that any players do not view us a desirable destination. The ONLY one...nope....but certainly agents and players listen when we call and that is irrefutable.
    2 points
  22. The point is that we aren't the CFL mecca some here would like to think. Some star players will never sign here even if they could. Other teams may be more aggressive paying free agents. I can almost guarantee that other team's coaching staffs have a more realistic view of their personnel than we do. Wynton McManus will come here if we make him the highest paid LBer in the CFL. That's the only way. He won't come here because Osh is supposed to be a player coach. He also wants to win & wants to get paid. We could be 0-2 when it comes to his belief in those things. Same with a lot of players.

  26. Blink was running behind a good OL in the Berry years. Ottawa the dispersal draft, plus some good draft choices and Americans. Goodspeed and Gauthier as good as anyone in that era.

  29. Harris was a good football player but his off field issues are pretty known if you know people who know him. I mean he was pretty much sent to live in BC cuz of issues here. And I won’t get in to it but when you hear it more than once from multiple different people, you tend to believe them. Could be jealousy but could also be truth. Not every elite athlete is a good human. I’ll leave it at that.
    2 points
  30. I won’t remotely pretend that I was a fan of Harris, I probably made fun of him as much as anyone. With that being said, not just limited to Harris, but it’s cool to see recently retired players join the coaching ranks. I think he’ll do well. But you’re right @Booch… Suitor is going to be nauseating with this one.

  31. O-line has been getting progressively worse since 2021, maybe time to switch up the ratio and play another import beside Stan like they did with Travis Bond back in 2016. That move got the ball rolling in the right direction.

  32. If I'm being honest .. I'd say, no ... we don't. We may have a few pieces but, overall, we lack physicality and presence on both sides of the ball.

  33. I'm not even mad tbh. He was at least soo transparent and straight forward that it's hard to hate him. He lived every moment like it was his last. Played hard, partied hard, slept... honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he slept in the locker room with some of the turn arounds I saw from him partying to playing. I loved football as much as any thing in my life till my kid was born. When I turned to coaching low level I was trekking across the continent to every back water imaginable to participate in clinics from positional to coaching. Awful trips on shoe string budgets staying in places soo greasy it make the trailer park boys blush. The wish to play more was as strong after as it was when I got to play, but still I hated the weight room, and the strength and conditioning stuff. Some people just aren't wired for that. I'd rather work stupid hard than lift weights or run. Maybe thats part of why I love blink soo much. He's my spirit animal.

  34. I actually think we have the core, if healthy. Wallace, and randolph could be impact players for us this year on the OL. On the DL I really like woods, Adams, fox, lawson and what garbutt rounded into late. I think we need to make some tough moves to get away from some old guys, and prioritize spending on the lines in free agency. 2 players, 1 end and C or tackle, away from having the best line play in the league again. And, the continued development of our young guys. Perfect world, we make a splash move at C, and DE. Garbutt rotates as a di, WJ rotates in the 30 to 40 swap, jake is either cut or the last NI on the roster, and we heavily rotate fox/lawson/woods and adams inside out. Randolph steps up and becomes the RT, and a new C stabilizes the interior. Wallace steps up and takes a G job. Maybe thats dobson, maybe its paddy rotating and playing the 6th ol.

  35. You want to win a championship? Well, it starts on the line on both sides. Do you really think we have what it takes right now?
    1 point
  36. I think they will be. I'm hoping the Bombers are as well but I don't think anyone can figure out if they'll try to re-sign most of their vets or go into free agency looking to sign some guys from other teams.

  39. You heard Ed Hervey. He'll spend money but with all the holes he needs to fill, he won't blow a significant amount for a receiver or MLB no matter how good they are.I can't see non contending teams going after McManis. I could be wrong but we'll see.

  40. At the end of the day, I don't blame the O struggles on usage. In the past 3 GCs their DL dominated our OL. That's not usage, that's just the sad reality that we no longer have the 2019 OL anymore and that teams like TO and MTL have juggernaut DLs. We needed a different type of O usage all 3 of those years and we were playing boom or bust down the field in the entirety of our passing game instead of working the flats. We had to take their DLs out of the game and we didn't.

A pro QB should be able to throw to anyone who is running the designed routes....saying they don't have chemistry and thats why they failed is just an excuse....chemistry is nice and can make for the ordinary play become extraordinary....but running the offence as schemed a pro QB who is good...will fit it in even if a fat oline guy has to throw on a pinny and play receiver...if he where he supposed to be...the QB will find him....excuses are for losers...always have been...always will be

  44. Zach doesn’t throw to guys he doesn’t have chemistry with. If the QB shits the bed and that’s both cfl and nfl, you lose. Thats what’s happened. Zach has been **** when it mattered most. If your qb is ****, you lose. Turn it over more than the other team, you lose. the fact we beat Sask the one year when we turned the ball over like 5 times was a miracle.

    All things considered...

Ambles and BOLO would have offered more than Demski..Bailey and Schoen in that game as for nothing but the fact that they could actually run with authority and garner attention....any discussion that replacing 2 of them with healthy bodies wouldnt have made huge difference is just a flat out idiot......or an Osh nad licker...or both Once MTL realized they were basically ineffective and could give a huge cushion and basically ignore, to more or less neutralize B.O and Lawler and know ZC would start to force things was the game right there.....it was a close one score game .....so imagine a couple of guys in lineup who could have made plays.....and points we didnt get..... Same as last yr....1 score game.....do you think anyone of the back-ups and maybe Buck adjusting what he was doing...which wasnt working anyway would have again made a difference.....instead of keeping a QB in who couldnt do anything?....like shake your heads man....
