  1. Some guys play better at other positions. In this case, it's not a stretch to think Eli could be a better Center than a Guard. Although the way things go with Osh, we'll probably never find out as he has his Boy at Center.

  6. So often Zach’s lack of time was because of pressure straight into his face… Kola was either getting toasted or run over. Having extra guys in to block isn’t going to change that.

  7. Raw, intimates high potential. He’s instantly the least athletic guy in the nfl. His cfl numbers were embarrassing. Average height of a wr in the nfl is a tiny shade under 6’1, ajou ajou was 6’2 at the combine here. Hes slightly above average for a wr down south, not even close to a tall lanky guy in the NFL. And he flashed average hands. Aside from his best game he caught about 40% of targets. It’s not his fault by any means. And I don’t blame him for taking the deal. This is a capitol case of the nfl can get really really stupid when it comes to signing guys. It’s pure 80s eye test stuff. He over achieved here and could well turn him self into a good cfl pro. Jamie stoddard and plenty of other guys have done it. If he’s smart he will soak in everything down south and use it to propel him self in his career. I think we have an easy 100 players in the cfl who would be way more worth the look.

  8. I can’t see any way Eli wouldn’t be better than Kola, if given an actual chance to be the starter. Physically, athletically, he’s better. Sure he may take some lumps, but he’s got all the tools to smooth them out. Unfortunately, he likely won’t really be considered for starting C.

  9. our oline was not nearly as bad as some made it out to be once all the starters were healthy....and to the denial of many here...a lot of the issues stemmed from center.....and will again if we roster the same one as our starter.....and knowing what we know about osh...Kolo will start...Jake will take premium reps...and we will play extra needless canadians in some sets...on defence that make us weaker,,,just because

  11. Two of our leading receivers were neutralized with injuries. And our starting middle linebacker limped thru the entire game with a severely pulled hamstring (I believe). Biggie got exposed on that one TD when he couldn't cover the back out of the backfield. Then, the excuses started that we didn't know if that was Bighill's man or not. (Sure). Osh stubbornly didn't accept any repsonsibility for doing the dumbest thing a HC has ever done in the history of the Grey Cup championship. He played three guys who were injured & couldn't compete physically. They never should have been on the field. They had no business playing. Cost us a 2nd consecutive Grey Cup.

  12. Breaking News: Mike O'Shea says Jake Dolegala will be calling the plays this season. He said as Dolegala is QB3 & under contract & he has no plans to play him, he might as well make himself useful on the bench. Added O'Shea, "If we can save a few bucks & not hire an OC then I'm all for this".

  16. You hit a home run with this post. Exactly as I feel. This wanting to play at home is bullshit. Pay your players to stay. Don't always expect a discount because our culture is supposedly so good that players will want to stay. Also, this Next Man Up mantra always runs dry eventually as you run out of quality Next Man Ups.

  17. Yep, it is really weird how they do it over there. Might be because of the immense size of their roster/PRs. Most teams already have 1-3rd string already in the system or will be drafting to get them. CFL guys are brought in as camp bodies and legit surprise if they stick. They bring in guys like Ajou who is about a 1% chance of making it but they see some tiny glimmer of upside they hope will surprise them while ignoring a guy like Schoen who can likely push hard for a ST/backup spot but that's where he tops out.

  18. On Kolo at center, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
    2 points
  19. Again though, this is where the NFL is insane in how it evaluates guys. There's 30 receivers in the CFL today that would be more useful to them in 2025 or 2026 even. But they totally pass on the higher floor guys and waste time on guys that have done almost nothing on a football field for years because they looked really good when they were 17. Ajou will probably blow out his knee or something and they'll end up paying him six figures USD to do nothing for 2 years. One day some NFL GM will realize there's actual useful players sitting right here that they can plug into roles almost immediately.

  20. he never really got a chance to win it tho....Kolo was basically annointed starter....much like Biggie..Jake...BA...and a few others with no competition at all...and that was that.... Eli when on the field is a menace...moves guys...irritates defenders and just oozes starter.....the limited reps at guard people use as their barometer that he isnt good enough is kind of irrelevant, and once he got a few more reps settled right in....also...he had to play right smack dan beside an inferior center (Kolo) who if isnt locked into or engaged in a nose directly in front of him just misses his blocks or responsibilities over and over....and any stunts or dline guys flashing past him....yukkk.... Plus he is undersized.....and not uber athletic for what you want in an undersized center.....If Osh wants to put a teacher's pet of hbis there slap Schmeck in their and convert him...He's do a way better job once he got acclimated...and it prob would happen fast....

  21. I think DE is something we will definitely be looking at. I'm not sure about C, not because we couldn't improve but I'm just not sure what will be left on the market come FA. I would like to see an upgrade at C for sure. Not sure what will be there come opening day of FA tho. Last year, and it should be expected, our OL was brutal to start the year then rounded out to decent as the year went on. Games against premiere DLs we really got exposed though. Some of that was hubris on Buck's part tho. Even in the Grey Cup his game plan was not designed to counter act what was very clearly Toronto's strength on D. We played right into their strength and that was dumb.

  22. So the dude runs like Matt Sheridan at the combine with a full battery of test results in that range, he catches 20/32 for 300 yards, hurts his knee in week 16 and misses the rest of the year, then gets an nfl deal. That is insane. Big Kev had better production and went like 32/40 with out missing a pass attempt for like 14 ish weeks, tested exceptionally well and blocks like it’s his full time job. Hope they don’t come for him.

  27. Yeah I don't have a lot of time for the 7 OL stuff. They roll that 1st and 10 or 2nd and short-medium mostly. But you'll see backs and receivers filling in if they go max protect on a passing down. Most of the time we had OL in there and they struggle in pass pro off the edge anyways. It only helps the run if the defense shorts themselves on the play side. OC needs to impress on Collaros that he has to manage blitzes better and hit hot routes. But you also need to design plays that give that option. Bombers with Buck Pierce would run some quick hitter stuff but a lot of plays you're looking and the only outlet is Oliviera who also might be in there trying to give Collaros space to attempt a vertical throw. The other thing we might see is more of a commitment to the zone run game and maybe a little less trust on having a guy just make a play. Hit the target and go or make one cut at the target. Let's get 5 yards every play.

  29. They all are. Both halletts, kornelson, samson, schmekel, Thomas all of em. Not on any other team but here. Not starters capable of competing. Not better than any imps. But yeah they all starters. If cut maybe, maybe one guy gets another offer. But they all starters.

Not trying to be a penicular device....justwondering who you think is....I'd go as far as saying maybe Godbar in Sask, maybe....if anything they at par but Godbar doesnt get bullied back into the QB's lap as often this here along with the post above.......or his inabilty to recognize abd pickup the stunt or twist...

  33. If you need time to go downfield you need to outnumber the rush. Football 101 You can pretty much count on 5 guys coming most passing downs so that's why you usually see 6 guys blocking. Regardless of how many guys are blocking the QB's pre snap are reading 2-3 guys in a route. So if you have 6 guys out wide all you're doing is widening out the field which works for quick game stuff. Doesn't really matter if you're more vertical based.

  35. And honestly I think our insistence on using 6 or 7 blockers alllllll the time hurts more than it helps. Collaros is never going to be a guy who gets the ball out quick. He will buy time with his eyes downfield... so give him more targets.

  36. He sat out 2022, just the one year. Plus the cancelled season and the year out of college. But it’s just 1 year since he was starting games for us in 21. It did seem to hurt his being game ready shape when he came back. I think long term if he gets back to starting all the breaks will be good for his body. He had a bunch of wear in college. He struggled at guard, but other wise was his usual self in the heavy set stuff.

  37. He did have a couple highlight reel plays on film. I didn't mean to suggest he could stick in the NFL, just offering my 2 cents on why they would look at him over say a guy like Clercius. Age being a big factor and he demonstrated some big play ability.

    Seats- P33 pricing?

If it matters, our seats are Section 125 and we quite like them. Higher seat numbers in the row is closer to the field side.

  39. Yeah. General logic is guard is easier than c or t but some guys struggle on one side or the other, or inside vs out. Hardrick struggled a lot at G before sliding to rt. Bonds struggled switching sides and then couldn’t play rt when the riders tried to move him around. C is also an odd position. We all see the snap, but it’s a completely different position most of the time. G and T you know your guy, you’ve prepared a lot for that 1on1 and they end up being 80-90% of your snaps. C, you don’t often have a guy heads up. It’s about reading, adjusting and helping. Dobson was also in his first season as a starter. That’s almost never an instant plug and play. The rest is soo depressing I can’t even thinking about that going into FA lol. Kolo and Thomas are gonna play till they can’t walk or stand. I agree with both. Hope for de dream of a C. I think c likely has to be a trade. between the ears makes sense. He excels in short yardage and in prior years went in at G while gray and others kicked out of te. It could also be that he just needs steady reps to grow into the role at g.

  40. I think with Eli it has more to do with between his ears than his physical toolbox. His problem has never been athleticism or ability. He sometimes doesn't show the drive or commitment necessary to grab the job away. If he comes to camp this year in the proper mind set he could give the coaches something to think about for sure.

  41. I'm saying that at this point and time he does top out as our 6th OL because he simply is not good enough at OG to displace anyone. I do not know if he is better than Kola, and would like to see what he can do there. I can't say definitively if he is better than Kola, but he is a natural Centre. It could be he is no better there than at OG, and if so then 6th or even 7th OL is his top out.

  48. I think people are selling Kramdi short. He only continues to get better over time. He’s an excellent tackler, and while not outstanding in coverage I’ve seen him hold his own, I’ve seen specific plays of him covering other teams best players in the red zone and making plays on the ball, not to mention he has extremely high football IQ he seems to always be in the right place at the right time. The only downside I see in his game is that he’s maybe a little slow in coverage. I have seen a few plays where he’s just a split second behind but with the right passport and what I believe he brings to the team I think he’s a very valuable piece of the D
