  1. Told you he was 100 percent coming back...and have no doubt he will be ready right out of the gate Now use as an actual QB who has the threat to run as a secondary thing...no more of the battering ram plays...sure include some designed runs but disguised and not every damn play Good signing..

  5. Streveler came in as a qb and had his initial success as a qb. Somewhere along the way coaches decided he was a runner and that's it. Let him play the position with a full playbook and he either succeeds or he doesn't same as any other player.

  6. From 3DN article , made me laugh The 30-year-old was especially effective during the team’s Grey Cup run in his second season with the club, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown in the West Semi-Final against Calgary and throwing a touchdown pass in the championship game over Hamilton. During the ensuing celebration, he gained cult hero status in Winnipeg as he sported a fur coat and cowboy hat while consuming an inordinate amount of beer.

  7. Use him as a qb and use him liberally if collaros is going to show his age.

  8. Yup Yeah...use him as the number 2..and like a QB...and get him involved often...
    5 points
  9. Or use him properly. That’s the million dollar question.

  10. If you're wrong, I will criticize you harshly. You can't ban me, I have a better tenure situation here than Jake Thomas does with the Bombers.

  11. Streveler runs an option package well, not a QB sneak or wedge. This is his value as a pro player. He's a specialist, he can play a role, and he can step in to win a game or two. He's not a guy who can live in the pocket either. Have to hope he's physically intact and has some durability left to play that role. Need a QB who can run a full CFL passing offense around too just in case there's a longer-term need.

  13. That’d be sick. Just imagine 3dn breaking the news. “The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are attempting to acquire Jake Thomas from the bombers, they’ve offered 4 first round picks. Mos has handcuffed himself to Jake and the bud grant statue in protest.” Hubert was struggling with the speed of the game after a month or so. But he still showed great ability to get off blocks and play the run. Tremendous motor and strength. Love the versatility and football iq. I hope he gets a good shot at development in Hamilton.

  14. Well, Hubert looked good in very limited action but suddenly found himself riding the bench for the rest of the season. Cole was good and versatile. We could throw in Kolankowski and Alexander, too.

  16. “Do the same thing” Nobody here posts 20 times per day complaining about Streveler.

  17. I feel like Wilson has high upside... Like grooming him as the 3, and let Strev be a proper vet back up...
    3 points
  18. Meh. I expected it, but was hoping we wouldn't sign him.

  19. Streveler signing doesn't make a lot of sense to me in that we need to find a Dru Brown as potential qb replacement. Strev didn't show a lot last year and was even stopped on 3rd and short where previously it would have been a given. He just takes playing time away from younger guys with potential We need to spend money on the oline if anything as we seemed to have little confidence in them against Toronto or Montreal.

  20. Hope Buck took his decoy plays with him to BC and we actually deploy CS more than just short yardage and gimmick plays. Reasonable? Would like to see him in his fur coat stogie in mouth celebrating this coming post season on Portage ave

  21. Will they actually use him this year? Given the apparent commitment to our run game, this might work out.

  22. I’ll kick in for the limo and help arrange the police escort A few guys change their mind every year. I feel like Roberson has done this like 2 times before already too Mediocre is all they’ve done since 21. It’s legit to build a team from the bottom up, especially when you think you have the qb in place.

  23. Pre fa deals coming apart already...Tre Roberson deal with Ottawa has been scrubbed and I wonder how many others will do the same...Maybeeee the Lawler deal with Ham might meet the same fate........????we shall see

  24. If we keep ayers that takes some of the sting out of Cole but I would’ve loved to have both. Oh man that’d tear the roof off this place lmao. Just see mos looking at him from the side line with a tear rolling down his cheek.

  26. Sorry this still kills me. And I know its apples to oranges but the god damn Eagles are in the super bowl with the best rb this year. Everyone knows they're gonna run, and yet they do it anyway and win. We had the best God damn rb in the league and rather than just say we win or lose, feed him, the excuse was "they'll just jam the box". Well ******* let them. Better that than asking a qb to do something he's never done while injured Okay... I needed that off my chest.

  27. From what I've seen on instagram Chris looks very good, and his rehab has gone quite well. He was doing box jumps the other day, considerably higher than I can! ( I can do a 3 foot box jump on a good day! )

  28. Are you referring to his post-GC remarks about having earned the right to know why he didn't touch the ball more? He wasn't the only one wondering what happened. Stanley Bryant: “Very disappointing,” veteran O-lineman Stanley Bryant said. “Surprised. Because, I mean, you’ve got the MOP, MOC. That’s what you respect. But I’m not an OC.” 11 touches, I think 0 of them came when Wilson was in at QB, none when Zach came in with 91/2 fingers. We all wanted to ask Buck what the heck happened there. I read it as he wanted to do more for his team but wasn't able to, it was out of his hands.

  30. Strev had no issues at all throwing the ball in the NFL and having success for the two - three years he was gone. Strev when he first played with us was able to throw the ball with no issues... it was only when LaPo got cute and designed weird plays and then once again last season where LaPierce decided to also get cute and assumed that he was the 2nd coming of Christian Okoye and would run very predictable plays which were 75% him rolling out and running into a pile of players.

  31. We used him like a freaking battering ram. A better Kerry Joseph or Tracy ham. No not really. The problem is we put him in running terrible packages with little options. Zach has been too quick to tuck the ball and take off. Strevy keeps it alive in his hand till he crosses the line and keeps his eyes down field. Making reads isn’t his problem.

  32. He was also hurt too from.excessive designed runs...took it's toll He showed just fine as a raw rookie his first yr...and that was with all of 2 yrs as a qb in college behind him and learning a new game...he will be fine if he gets to play....quarter back Yup...dumb
    2 points
  33. Yup...when they realized his running ability and escape ability they abused it to the extent his running became predictable and irrelevant Let him go back to a QB who can run to escape pressure if need be...my opinion is a good signing...1 yr deal..to.show he cam be a qb..and is only 30...so conceivably has 5..6..yrs ahead of him. People who say he can't throw based on what we did with him are mislead... Buck didn't know what to do with a lot of his players skill sets..that was one his faults.. and had a hard time adjusting on fly outside his game plans if they didn't work That's why I like Jackson here and hope to hell he has a lot more say in the playbook creation and game day quality control...he knows how to utilize certain skill sets to get most out of them Tracy Ham'sh Go watch his college games...he's fine in pocket..as he was in his brief nfl snippets The thing is if you let him play as a pass first QB with that running threat if things break down or DE' s don't respect contain..defences will have to.play pass and still be wary of him taking off...especially if we use sprint outs...slide protections to switch up launch points...how we used him last yr..was pointless and teams just crashed down with ears pinned back... Our coaching hooped and hamstrung us in varying aspects..hopefully they have learned

  38. Fantastic goal by Iafallo. Great effort and skill. Lambert gets an assist.

  39. No kidding. But according to Goalie, Walters will just sit on all this money throwing $100 bills around like $100 lb rocks. Maybe he'll use that money to redecorate his office. He's gone as he wants to play with his brother in Edmonton. Knowing the Elks, they'll cut Tre in training camp.
    2 points
  40. this 400k move at this time was planned all along...new ownership, new attitude and new players...this was all orchestrated in favor of getting the Elks back healthy again, and bringing those fans they lost back to the park. the Edmonton regime new it was gonna go down this way, that's why they bought up the talent on day one. the main 3 have always propped up this league...us,Sask and Edm....we need Edmonton back healthy again...i just wish it didn't cost us so much to do it.

  41. I like the logic behind this statement. With that extra $400,000, I'd love to see us throw a nice offer to Couture or McEwen so we can upgrade the C spot and move on from Kolo.

  42. truth be told, I think if we do suddenly have a bit more cash to play with for a receiver, we’d be better off saving it for Pokey when he comes back edit: let me clarify, I know he’s under contract if he comes back. I’d give him a raise for this year with an extension attached so we can actually lock a guy up long term and not do this song and dance every year I’d also be pushing for Brady (especially) and Schoen extensions

  43. I'm still excited to see Wilson get better. I thought he did well in season when called on...I don't think he completed a pass in the GC but I remember liking his pocket presence.

  44. Some of his public comments last year indicated he's more of a me guy than a team guy. But that's probably just O'Shea's fault
    1 point
  45. This might seem surprising given the news from earlier today, but hey if it turns out to be wrong I will ban anyone who criticizes me for it Sources are telling me the Bombers have agreed to terms with Cameron Dukes
    1 point
  46. Yeah. And I’m very excited to see that. I think the nature of his touches evolves. Less hard sledding between the guards. Less random shots and more diverse plays taking advantage of our best guys. I think the touches mostly come out of the junk.
    1 point
  47. I sure he will see lotsa bo and Logan sets with Jackson here...and it causing team fits...especially if they run some with Strev too Yup..we have seen and discussed...so agreed..

  48. Hamilton was in their home grey cup a few years ago. Don’t recall them blowing their wads to get there. Just cuz you overpay people don’t guarantee anything. Actually history has shown that the teams who overpay during free agency usually don’t end up in the game otherwise Hamilton and BC would be grey cup champs every year. Hamilton has the longest cup draught in the league. Over spending doesn’t guarantee ****.
