Wilson was really good on short yardage for us last season, that alone is enough reason for me to keep him over Dole-banana.

He has great pocket poise...and he actually surveys the field...and when he escaped the pocket...he still looks to pass...but he can gouge you with his running if you aren't smart in contain...he's gonna be good and I can see in 2026 he being 1a and Strev 1b as Wilson learns the game

Pretty sure they see Wilson as the starter of the future...has all the tools and crazy good pocket poise Your right tho...even if they "jam" the box you need to be able to combat it...that was just a built in excuse for a poor game plan...plain and simple...scheme to counter it...not abandon...lame lame

Sorry this still kills me. And I know its apples to oranges but the god damn Eagles are in the super bowl with the best rb this year. Everyone knows they're gonna run, and yet they do it anyway and win. We had the best God damn rb in the league and rather than just say we win or lose, feed him, the excuse was "they'll just jam the box". Well ******* let them. Better that than asking a qb to do something he's never done while injured Okay... I needed that off my chest.

Yeah that’s disappointing. I was excited at the prospect of us agreeing to a deal with Dukes, would be curious to hear what happened there. Patterson doesn’t really move the needle much for me at all but if we’re being fair, his numbers were probably better than Dukes’ last season. He just seems very much like more of what we have with Streveler in terms of a short yardage specialist, doesn’t really give me the same belief that he could be the heir apparent to life after Zach like I thought Dukes could be.

good thing going into camp...we have 4 outta 5 QB's who have experience...and won games in the league....the 5th guy prob has the best potential and serious upside, and already shows the traits you want...so we dont have to rush abd ruin him, and maybe this time a guy we develop stays in the fold...I'm okay with our situ at the moment at QB....As long as we dont extend before camp...or during the season

If Wilson is relegated to #3, dry rot will set in from neglect and he'll develop as far as Dom Davis did in Wpg. Dru Brown progressed because he got actual playing time, not through osmosis from sitting next to Zach.

He has all the tools you could want. Raw talent, Athleticism, and arm. He can be a dual threat and run package stuff but he tends to take what’s in front of him. Not a run to run instinct guy. He’s a run to throw guy who’s dangerous with his legs. Strong guy to not just his arm, Carried some tacklers in college and pushed piles. But great arm stuff. Power, accuracy and touch. Poise, this was a big one for me. From ps up he never looked scared or like pressure affected him negatively. It just changes what’s available and he looks to take what’s open. Mental toughness, competitiveness. Stepping in in that spot and not only being calm/in control but going for the throat like that. And mechanics looks real good. Like his foot work and quick release. He’s got a great economy of movement in his upper and lower body. He can change his release point when the pocket collapses or is on the run as well. His release is soo clean it almost looks like he’s short arming it then the ball just launches from his hand. it’ll come down to what’s between his ears now. I’ve got no questions on the rest of his stuff. If he can run an offense at the pro level and execute pre and post snap reads he’s gonna go far fast. Dru brown took a long time to polish up. Scary terry doesn’t look like he will need all that time.

I'm still excited to see Wilson get better. I thought he did well in season when called on...I don't think he completed a pass in the GC but I remember liking his pocket presence.

Not that I agree with the call but I’m assuming Brown’s hand shove to defenders face sealed the call. Refs better be consistent.

I have given up trying to figure out what our plan is this year. I hope free agency clears things up.

Patterson has zero passing ability from the pocket. Dukes improved with reps and is still a big upside guy. Main thing with Dukes is he needs to do a better job of managing the football and avoiding turnovers. Patterson can't do anything with his arm to put fear in a defense. IMO there's no reason to have Patterson and Streveler both on the roster. If you want Patterson, why bring back Streveler, and vice-versa. They are very similar low-upside run threat QB's with very limited passing ability. If Streveler is anywhere close to 100% he's a way bigger threat at what they both do well. Waste of a roster spot to have both. Bring in someone who can pass. Dukes almost 10 points better than Patterson in QBR and still 26.

Doesn't seem like much of a plan coming out of the Bombers offices these days, grab whatever leftover QB's no other team wants, and see if they can surprise everyone by uncovering a competent QB. Where's the obvious talent? Might as well revert to Pigrome just for the thrill of it.

.....I'm sure he has a mittful of fa's BUT he has first hand knowledge of our guys .....knows we have a lot of quality players in the lineup, and is accomplishing two things.....making his new club better (in some instances) and weakening a very good opponent ....You'd think there would be 'some' loyalty toward his old club ...Unfortunately I think loyalty in professional sports no longer exists IF it ever did

Dropping dole for dukes makes sense to me. I’m not crazy over dukes, but he’s got a lot more potential and a similar floor. I’d be happy to boot dole early and bring in a rookie development guy.

Yeah. And I’m very excited to see that. I think the nature of his touches evolves. Less hard sledding between the guards. Less random shots and more diverse plays taking advantage of our best guys. I think the touches mostly come out of the junk.

I don't think he will be sharing per say...augmenting...and BO is a team guy...I doubt he would object

I've never claimed to be an expert, but some of the stuff we keep hearing about Buck here...doesn't compute with him being hired to be a head coach I'm sure the powers that be in BC...were fully aware of what the Bombers' offense was doing/not doing. I don't see why they'd hire a guy who's as bad as some of you keep typing. Just my 0.02

I don't know if there's a comparable that springs to mind. I just see him as a guy who can be a true dual threat if he's allowed to be. You use him as a fullback though you aren't helping anything.

I feel like Wilson has high upside... Like grooming him as the 3, and let Strev be a proper vet back up...

Streveler came in as a qb and had his initial success as a qb. Somewhere along the way coaches decided he was a runner and that's it. Let him play the position with a full playbook and he either succeeds or he doesn't same as any other player.

I'd be concerned if I were a Hamilton fan that he's bringing many mediocre guys that way. As a Bomber fan this excites me that we have unloaded a guy who appears to be the one who recruited this C - D level talent.

Why do you compare Winnipeg to Vegas and not St. Paul or Edmonton or buffalo or I mean what’s next comparing us to New York? We aren’t Vegas. Hell most cities in the world never mind nhl cities aren’t like Vegas. Compare us to Chicago or St. Louis St. Paul Detroit Edmonton Calgary even.
