I like Buck, I think he did a lot of really good things for this team.... but last year... wooof that was bad on a lot of levels from the offense.

I may be way off base here since I haven't bothered to go look it up... but i'd bet you a pepsi that Streveler has better NFL stats then Dukes.

Patterson is trash...zero upside there...not sure the reasoning other than in case Strev isn't ready to go week 1 I also see Strev used as a legit QB and full breadth of the playbook...Wilson showed he can operate the short yardage and why risk running Strev into that mass of bodies..and risk injury to knee early on...maybe next yr but this yr be foolish

We played Strev, when he was clearly hurt.....and put him in telegraphed situations, where D knew what was coming..... After all this time....to still have to speculate what he can or can't do......is simply a joke Another reason I don't miss Buck, one iota.

Strev is never going to be the 2nd coming of Dieter Brock. With his skill set he doesn't have to be. Will he ever be a bonafide starter in this league? Hard to say. However, he is a guy that can come in and win games if he has the right game plan given to him.

Dukes is the best QB of the names listed there. Dolegala has similar numbers and production as a starter. By either QBR metric Patterson is a significant drop from Dukes, and Dolegala. And Dukes has 2 years as a pro where Patterson already has 5. Going into 2025 Dukes would be a good backup with upside to maybe become a starter. Patterson would be one of the worst backup QB's in the league with basically no potential to be a legit starter in a passing league. Even if you want the option package guy, Stevens (who Sask has signed) is better, Streveler is probably better if he has any health. And that's just of guys who have already played in the league. It's a bizarre signing and unless Streveler is out until October doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Riders had 5 turnovers off Dukes in that game, including a pick six for winning TD. TD pass he threw was a screen that Emilus took 35 yards breaking 4 tackles. Started 3 drives in the redzone off turnovers and scored 1 TD. Patterson is a bottom half of the league backup QB with no upside. Interesting thing with him is when he was allowed to pass downfield he turned the ball over like crazy. 7 turnovers in the 3 games he threw more than 25 passes.

Be a lil over 8 months come start of camp...Adrian Peterson came back in 8.....He told me 2 were surgically repaired...pretty sure that what he said.....and I think the Paterson signing is in case he isnt totally ready...best of him and Dolegala will be rostered if ZC goes down and Wilson struggles....or they wanna just keep Wilson doing short yardage and involved and allow Strev to come in as the number 2 I supposed to be going to Arizona for some camps in the early spring...but may not now as an anti-american stance...if I go was gonna track him down and gauge where he at...catch some balls

Training camp will only be 7 months out from Streveler tearing 3 ligaments in his knee. Streveler is superhuman but it sure seems like Patterson is an insurance policy in case of any setback or delay.

Fajardo had the same issue. I bet Montreal would be the best move for him. he isn’t better than Wilson, or strevy. He is better than the rider off casts. His fit is also worse here than most any place else. We’ve seen Wilson and strevy in the worst possible situations. Dukes was spoon fed the best possible situation. Dukes is in the same tier as the rider off casts, but he’s ahead of them just based on potential. In the cfl, the qb2 is gonna be leading your team at some point. I would not be ok with dukes being qb2 short of a massive leap forward from him.

Yeah I don’t get the take that strevy has his shot or can’t pass at all. We haven’t seen him run a normal offence in the cfl since 2018. We did see him run an offence with the jets in pre season. He needs to be allowed to run dynamically. He isn’t Mike Vick or Lamar Jackson. Being more of a power runner he shouldn’t be running a lot of designed plays. When he does they should be designed to get him in space for easy yards. Not hammering away option runs between the tackles.

games he started as a raw as can be rookie in his rookie yr he had 8 tds to 4 ints....3 to start the yr...BB...And part of the last game of yr also rushed for 268 yardsand 4 TD's.....then we went way off the rails developing him....no reason he cant be a dual threat QB IF allowed to

He's raw. Last year was his second year and first starting. IF you aren't going to put arbuckle in in a situation like that, why have him on your roster? Remember, Wilson is OLDER than dukes still. He was a young guy forced into action virtually right away. You know what you get with Arbuckle, if a D has a chance to prepare for him they should beat him. Dukes is still largely an unknown he hasn't had the chance yet to try to adjust to how teams play him. Like I said, I'm not crazy about Dukes, arbuckle, or either rider off cast qb. But Dukes easily has the most potential of that whole group. All 3 are old and well-exposed in the CFL.

Patterson has zero passing ability from the pocket. Dukes improved with reps and is still a big upside guy. Main thing with Dukes is he needs to do a better job of managing the football and avoiding turnovers. Patterson can't do anything with his arm to put fear in a defense. IMO there's no reason to have Patterson and Streveler both on the roster. If you want Patterson, why bring back Streveler, and vice-versa. They are very similar low-upside run threat QB's with very limited passing ability. If Streveler is anywhere close to 100% he's a way bigger threat at what they both do well. Waste of a roster spot to have both. Bring in someone who can pass. Dukes almost 10 points better than Patterson in QBR and still 26.

Team stats, GTFO with trying to use that ****. Argos are a good team and have been every time dukes got to play (or do you really think it was Chad Kelly that earned all those wins 2 seasons ago?) Most of strevelers starts with the Bombers were prior to them fixing their **** on defense in 2019.

Buck does not know how to utilize skill seys.....or venture out of his comfort zone or the box so to speak Even with a raw rookie OC with no experience....But Jackson's influence and presence...I bet we way better off

Strev carried us for two games, with the worst ol play we’ve had since drew willys days, and the worst wr play too. Even worse offensive play call and game plan as well. Dukes was as protected as humanly possible by the situation and system he played in. And he was still meh. I would pass on dukes, cut both riders and take Masoli in a heat beat. Best chance to go into a game off the bench and win. But we have strevy so that won’t happen. All these guys below strevy Zach and Wilson are tc arms. I think if you give Strev a decent system and let him make plays, he’d put pass dukes too. But I do agree, basically the worst case scenario with strevy is a guy who gives us hands down a better chance to win.

I don't think Dukes is in any way, shape, or form better than Streveler if I wanted to, you know, win a game.

Cameron Dukes is a young Fajardo without the Jesus Sprinkles. He can't make every throw and therefore has a low ceiling. You are way over rating him.

easy fix....sprint outs...roll outs and slide protections moving the pocket.....if defence bites hit the open guy, and actually have 3 guys minimum to that side.....if they follow the recievers, his speed and power outside will have huge gobs of ground to eat up...and many of it he can take minimal hits Once teams know he is pass first but will run....it will cause fits...we did that maybe....no times last yr...but about 1000 pull the ball and run up the gut...like wtf...Kudos for him being a warrior and do anything for the team guy and taking that needless abuse until we broke him another point to ponder...The Faj won a Grey Cup as his coach schemed a gameplan to suit him....Th Faj..... 26....looks 16

Some of these signings such as Cobb, Patterson and Sterns feels like Walters is shopping at the 29 cent store and randomly throwing items into his cart.

Neither is great, but dukes has raw potential. Hoenstly if strevy is healthy in decent time and Wilson has continued to grow I’m not worried. QBs 4/5 are camp arms. I can see value in having 2 experienced league guys in at those spots to bring along WRs/dbs and get the offence installed faster. No one has to make the adjustment to the Canadian game every one has run O in games.
