  1. Wow, I don't know how many breakaways Mario didn't cash in, but that's got to be one of the few, though with today's technology and multiple camera angles, who knows, that deke by Mario might have actually gone in lol.... Congrats Pokey, it was fun watching you play!

  2. The Bombers won 2 Grey Cups and Mike OShea humbly deflected credit to his players staff and fans, this is total BS You could barely get the guy to say a word about his MOCoach nominations when asked point blank ffs if you're gonna **** on the guy at least **** on him for his actual faults

  4. u do realize the "goof" in many circles is a very derogatory term eh?...?? and yeah...I read....and your comment also was a reflection of what I said as well...go...read...digest and the realize it could have been viewed as such som of whom shouldnt have nade it out of camp...there's the rub And not adding talent when you can....just because you have a cart....is pretty lame....No player is gonna get upset about the team getting better other than the guy being replaced...I guess...be better then??...I dunno... he also thjo will ask/influence and make a case to retain guys who shouldnt too...goes both ways...But agree it's mainly up to the G.M in who he brings in....does a coach...and not just here always keep the right giys?....thats a discussion all in itself Walter's tho seems to be sleep walking this yr and signing some guys with a lot of hopium needing to cash in for it to be viewed as a smart and savy move...TBD i'D say more like a few...not lots...and majority of them were due to necessity/injury....not so much we found a better guy...brought him in and up to speed then replaced a player

  6. OL looks pretty week this year, at least as far as top prospects go. The fall rankings only had 2 OL listed & the top rated one, Eric Schon (4th overall), has already retired. The winter list had 3 OL but nobody ranked super high so not a banner year for that position but the bright side is teams won't have to worry about NFL interest! 😂 DL class looks deep though (7 of 20 players & 4 in the top 10). Here's last months winter rankings: Rank Name Position 1 (1) Kurtis Rourke QB 2 (3) Paris Shand DL 3 (–) Elic Ayomanor WR 4 (8) Isaiah Bagnah DL 5 (10) Keelan White WR 6 (20) Jaylen Smith LB 7 (14) Jeremiah Ojo DL 8 (5) Jackson Findlay DB 9 (–) Hayden Harris DL 10 (17) Erik Andersen OL 11 (–) Christopher Fortin OL 12 (–) Ali Saad DL 13 (19) Darien Newell DL 14 (16) Nate Martey DL 15 (15) Devin Veresuk LB 16 (–) Ethan Jordan WR 17 (–) Samuel Carson OL 18 (–) Isaiah Knight RB 19 (–) Nate Beauchemin DB 20 (–) Taylor Elgersma QB There was also a another player added to the draft a few days ago that Dunk says might be the best LB in the draft. https://3downnation.com/2025/02/20/university-of-wyoming-lb-connor-shay-added-to-2025-cfl-draft/

  7. I was just saying that coaches get all the credit when they win & get fired when they lose. Whether Osh accepted the platitudes & congratulations or not, he still got the credit. If Osh didn't want to accept it publicly then that's his perogative. He still got the credit. On the flip side, if he has a losing season then he'll face criticism. That's all I was trying to say. You & Noeller just calm down now...

  8. It is entirely true that mos handed off credit as fast as any one ever. Guy doesn’t have a selfish bone in his body. He did get all the praise and credit heaped on him. As he does and will the blame. Same with zach and every starting qb ever. That’s the job.

  10. yeah I was saying that not to be a penicular device...Just a word of caution and advice from real world experience knowledge...as odd as it seems.....that word is a real no-no and can be very offensive in some instances, and by the time you realize it you may be waking up in an emerg department....if you wake up seeing as it is off-season and we dont have much else to yammer on about than good natured bickering a lil story.....I lived an played in the Oakland area for 3 yrs....and had some teammates who were straight gang bangers...or were guys with support of their gangs had got out of the lifestyle to try and make it thru sports...so would come to games...and practices as support so got to meet many....and it's a different world with different politics. I would watch guys have total convo's without saying a word but all in sign....and it was extraordinary to say the least. They taught me some lingo but the sight of that, was about the same as the sight of a big white dude trying to cut the rug on the dance floor....you just dont wanna see that! Went on a couple excursions as a "guest" to a few of the neighborhoods for BBQ's ...to say the least I was scared shitless and I rarely scare

  13. you keep going on with the yeah but we went to 5 cups....I get it...that "can" be viewed as sucess I guess....why dont you focus on we have stumbled and failed miserably in 3 striaght yrs....due to mainy for no lack of argument the same several issues....and focus on tht and maybe see why things could be tweaked....switched up....phylosophy's changed...maybe a new way of player management/use....which means having adequate depth and actually using them when injury requires it...or faltering play You say a reason is guys were hurt all yr...well where's the depth then?...Other teams had guys hurt too..Heck we got beat in the Grey Cup by a guy nobody wanted...and has had a career of basically nothing...B.C imploded because their HC trashed the room....Sask mainly from a couple dumb Mace decisions and 3 big break downs in their secondary.....coaching faux pas....we then lost a Gret Cup with some dumb HC decions...and some of our own faux pas.....bad coaching when it mattered I wouldnt say we owned anything last yr if I being honest you obviously live in a lil bubble then and are pretty ignorant to what is an offensive comment...Go call random people a goof then, and hope one isnt a biker...a person who has served time...a military vet....a person who has lived a less than privileged life....good chance you will be picking up your chicklets.... Same as whistling a lil tune in prison ...you will get warned once....next time....not so lucky

  14. MOS's roster work and who is kept/released is fair game in-season. Right now roster composition is on KW. There is no pro coach in the history of pro coaching that has ever told a GM to not sign talent for training camp. Anything being done right now is on the GM.

  15. Really is. Plus the combine seems to have a strong impact on our opinion of guys. We love the high upside guys with the athleticism to start in the pros. Yeah it’s gonna be an odd draft. Probably won’t be a lot of futures picks at ol. Which I think bodes well for us actually. We could use a guy or two who sits on our pr and who we mold into a system fit. Or maybe a 6th ol, maybe an undersized centre to develop. It seems like skill positions and dl talent is the new go to in the draft. It’s a far cry from the days of ol and WRs and catch then fall down.

  16. Greg quick, and James Stanley filled the lber coach role in all but mos last year with the Argos. The last year they didn’t have one and Chris jones got ast hc duties on top of dc. I’d say it’s very likely he was effectively the lber coach that last year. But not his first 3.

  17. The Head Coach of a football team is like the Captain of the Titanic. Had the luxury liner made it to New York in safety, he would have been lauded as a great leader. Instead, his ship hit an iceberg & sunk killing 85% of the passengers & crew as the most expensive passenger ship ever built at the time went to the bottom of the ocean. As Captain, that's on him as it happened when he was in command. The Bombers won 2 Grey Cups & Osh took in all the credit from fans. If Osh goes 1-17 this season, he'll be forced to take all the criticiam that comes with a losing season.

  18. Dumping both...as we already have guys on roster to fill their spot....would have enabled us 260k or more to spread elsewhere And really...with Lawson..Samson and Schmeck still here that vacant spot for Tjomas could been used for a Canadian at a different position...ST depth..even positional depth at receiver..db...Canadian punter

  19. You obviously have no clue how pro teams work...no offence btw..but u are off base...sure discussion is had...but the HC is the guy who makes final roster decisions based on what he feels best...all things considered...and gets praise for success...which he gets here...and also should get blame and criticism..that's way it is...always You don't know the discussions had...maybe Costello would prefer and lobeyed for Eli...or we go out and get mcewen..but got over ruled Same with defence and if you were to ask Younger or Hall before him if he'd prefer an all import front...heavy dose of legit import difference makers or Schmeck and Thomas getting primo reps...u seriously think he'd want that? Especially with the defence he wants to run he needs athletic and active guys in the trenches..guys with stamina as well...Thomas has none of that.. I'll give Schmeck props as he has a motor and some quickness and athleticism...he just not that good..I would think he is cut in camp if he doesn't show more...or should be That's where you need the foresight to cut bait and recycle away from guys that just aren't cutting it..and take up well above minimum salary...the kolos...thomas'.....etc U are kidding right?

  20. Some can't make up their mind who's to blame and when (except MOS to blame for everything bad). But Costello gets credit for being the best OL coach in the league. From everything that's revealed publicly, we can determine that most decisions are made as a group. MOS, Walters and Miller oversee things as a group. The offense is worked on as a group with the QB Room all having input (based on what we've seen/heard publicly). So I'm inclined to believe that the OL decisions are decided as a group as well. And if Costello is really believed to be the best OL coach in the league, I have a hard time believing MOS, the former LB and STer, is making unilateral overarching decisions regarding the OL.

  24. I’d Love to see an etymology of goof like that. The culture shock in places like the Deep South, and places like oak town is insane. Really makes you think about what some of these kids go through coming up here. I went through the south slowly, and I was stunned at each point how much more intense it got. I thought nc was deep in it, till I got to alabama and Mississippi.

Problem is you trading Ehlers to a contender unless it’s some blockbuster type deal. He is a pending ufa so I don’t think you would get much. A 1st in a weak draft and a meh prospect. Is Ehlers worth more to us? Probably cuz looks like he’s enjoying himself out there. I think he signs. I think there’s a chance pionk is dealt or walks for nothing tho.

  31. Because I’m a fan and have no say and 5 straight cups is better than not 5 straight cups regardless of what the vocal minority say. It’s really that simple. As a fan I have been entertained for 5 plus years now. but I guess being Hamilton who hasn’t won forever or Calgary who has an owner who don’t GAF or Sask who have 3 cups in their entire history would be better. I dunno. Maybe I remember cheering for really bad bombers teams in hindsight growing up. Are you kidding me? 1 cup appearance was a victory every 10 years really.

  33. Please list them, the only one I can recall from last season is Lucky coming in to fill a need. They bring players in later in the season for a tryout for next season but rarely give them any playing time. Edit: Add Tony Jones who they picked up when the Elks cut him in early June. I didn't realize Tony came into the CFL with the Argos in 2022 and he's already 29, may be a placeholder for a couple of seasons and he's already peaked as adequate but not exceptional.

Andrew Paterson was comparing it to Hogan coming out with the NWO and I chuckled... Ya she's dead to me as long as she's associated with them. As for Val, I thought she was their best player last night. Their front end just isn't good enough for this level. They need their regular players back.

  37. Yeah he's an anomaly - skipping the positional coach role to become a coordinator and then skipping OC or DC to become HC. Can't recall any other HC in recent memory that has had a career path like that.
    1 point
  38. No he didn't. He was never a LB coach (at least in name), he was a coordinator (special teams) for the Argos from 2010-2013 before becoming our HC.

  41. Costello has seen a massive revolving door of Canadians to work with. I don’t think he gets much say. it’s an interesting point to consider. Imo, clearly Walters has stepped in at times. Jackson not coming back, and biggie as well. If it was up to mos I think both would still be here and penciled on the ar. I think the default is mos having final say over who plays and walters on who comes/goes. I’m sure every one has some manner of input, but I think that’s how it boils down.

  44. Cause he not a guard...a top 3 ncaa ranked center...doesn't forget how to play...and he hardly got owned...some mishaps when he got emergency dropped in...but figured it out...and playing beside Kolo when you are not a true guard...didn't help either Eli moves bodies...gets to second level seeking to destroy...and is not undersized...kolo does none of that...and is undersized...and an undersized center who isn't athletic...is a severe handcuff Yes...this

  45. https://3downnation.com/2025/02/23/theres-a-lack-of-new-blood-in-the-cfl-wilfrid-lauriers-michael-faulds-not-interested-in-pro-job/ Wl’s coach speaks out about the cfls habit of recycling over giving new people and ideas a chance. It sounds like he isn’t interested in going from usports hc to positional coach which is understandable. The league isn’t doing a good job or even any kind of job developing coaching pipelines any more. Canadian or American. It’s pretty much all former CFL players interning under the old guard of coaching lineages then moving up and repeating the same old stuff. I feel like the opportunity for the first team to break the mold and same old rhythm is huge. And likely leads to a resurgence of innovation and creativity in the league. I also don’t think the league can grow much more doing the same old safe stuff.

  46. His point is that free agency, in most cases, isn’t an open market. Most of these “free agents” already had pre-determined destinations and in the case of Canadian OL, most teams won’t let theirs go unless they are being told they’re hitting the market for a purpose.

  47. Jets 1.0 had a nine game winning streak (and combining the playoffs, a 15 game undefeated streak) back in 1984-85, but for the Thrashers/Jets2.0 franchise, 9 is the record. They had 8 to open this season and 8 to close last season (technically a 16 game win streak spanning two seasons, but the league does not regard that as one streak) and another 7 gamer this year.
