Overview Woodbey has good short-area quickness and play strength, but he lacks the instincts and burst to make plays that stand out. His speed testing was disappointing, but it appears to match what is on tape at times. He needs to prove he can play fast and will need to star on special teams to have a shot. Strengths Quick feet for good short-area movement. Possesses above-average strength for his size. Stands his ground and drives through hips as tackler. Can line up and redirect release of slot tight ends with force. Experienced contributor to special-teams units. Weaknesses Minimal production in impact categories. Lacks functional speed to play chase-and-hit football. Blockers are able to sustain and keep him out of plays. Doesn’t have athleticism or twitch to create a margin for error. Will have trouble tracking deep routes down the field.6 points -

People don't realize how good it really is...it's not in your neighborhood..oh well if u a fan you will go Maybe some should go to a game in many of the NFL and Ncaa venues...with some with minimal parking...or the high cost parking...the logistical nightmares of some places...the 3 hour round trip to go to a game...some in bad neighborhoods....then reflect on their sojourn to games here and realize ...hey...it's not that bad after all The city is growing to south anyway..so in due time majority of fans will be close4 points -

Stanley on the 2nd pair is ridiculous. I just don’t get it. Fleury isn’t a great skater, but he’s much more fluid than Stanley. It’s a low bar, but… Heinola is a good skater and puck mover, but small, so they don’t seem to want to give him a chance…. At least nowhere near the chance Stanley has had. Salomonsson has been playing well with the Moose, but won’t get a real shot until maybe next season.3 points -

Sports specific and actually agility/range of motion and functional strength are more key now and what we look at and focus on....as well as explosive strength. People shouldn't get it wrong and that true weight lifting and putting on mass...lean mass...isnt important now...it is....but things have shifted toward more usefull mass. Thats why the 225 bench is kinda ...meh and and not a true indicator of strength and explosive power...more a muscle endurance metric, and really how often are you gonna be doing say a move ...like a punch or true bull rush 15 to 30 times in a row...and in a span of 30 seconds? Seen it time and time again that a 29 rep guy has less power and brute force as the guy who put up say 15 to 20 reps...the lower rep guy most times too can in a 1RM out press a lot of the high rep guys...mainly due to way more effective fast twitch recruitment and in football...especially in the trenches is way more valuable....and we can effectively train guys to hit this and actually get them to recruit a higher percentage of fast twitch As for juicers a pretty easy tell tale sign of it is overly developed traps and neck and really capped shoulders and overall yoke.....Fore arms are a good sign an jaw/face...and the fact they get knicked....a lot....Not saying Toilette is but that nice masking beard, and the fact he always on the limp....as C and C Music factory said...are "things that make you go hmmmm" lol That being said dropping a significant amount of fat tho can give you the appearance of being bigger...and in a pic all by one self and no reference point....ie: another person in the shot can also be deceiving...tho true monsters in a pic look massive...and in person scary...I used to train with Paul Dillett in T.O and MTL ....and pics didnt do him justice....dude was a freak....If you dont know who he is have a google If Toilette is 200 pounds....good luck with that as he was marginally effective as his weight allowed him to be a bull....he lacks speed and finesse...and will prob get beat up more thn ever now....9 games maybe his max....11 if lucky3 points -

Winnipeggers who ***** & complain should go to Seattle for a Seahawks game. A city of nearly 5 million with a stadium down by the seaport area where container ships are loaded. Freeways are always jammed. Absolutely zero parking anywhere except on the street if you can find a space to park blocks away. There are a number of parking garages different distances from the stadium between 2-6 blocks away. You have to call these parking garages to reserve a spot. You can't just drive in. I don't know the exact price to reserve a parking space as my son paid for it the last game we went to in 2024. I think it's around $45 USD to park in the garage we were in. Getting in & getting out takes forever but at least it's close. Crime in the area is very high. Meth heads & street creatures are always around. You don't want to be caught by yourself after dark when the football crowd is gone. So, people hustle their ass to get to their vehicles after a night game where they lock the doors & feel safe. Sunday afternoon games are usually okay. But it is off the downtown in an older area & sketchy. I guess the area where Lumen Stadium is was a cool place when the stadium opened in 2003 replacing the Kingdome on the same spot. So, quit bitching Winnipeggers. You have it pretty good! Do you feel unsafe going to your car or catching a bus after the games at PAS? Compare the area at the U Of M where the stadium is located to where Canada Life Centre is downtown.2 points -
I didnt ***** and complain...and a lot of people I know didnt either.....as well "everyone" didnt either....the people who used to live closer bitched and moaned....their convenience just shifted to it being convenient for others... Anywhere u put a stadium it's gonna be across the city for half the fanbase...if not more....and parking at old place wasnt ideal either.....The logistics of the bussing was a ball drop by the team and the city and the city and there is way more actul parking at new stadium than at old.....Karen is gonna Karen regardless....Karen2 points

I personally enjoy the new stadium setup and the travel to and from is so easy. We used to drive to Stone Angel and pre game there, then walk to the stadium. Now, we take the rapid transit from our little place just off McGillvary and that takes like 10 minutes. So easy to do. Game Day Experience in Winnipeg is absolutely top-notch and puts other CFL markets to shame My wife friggin LOVES the food there....2 points -
Part of it is definitely value for the money you pay. My daughter and I can go to a bomber game for half of what it costs to go to jets games. That plays a role. I find when we go to jets game I’m wanting more. I feel I don’t get our 300$ worth but at bomber games I can sit in the family zone and get my cash worth by half time.1 point

You’re right I just looked it up, 22 reps at 177 lbs. such a beast. Wish we kept him. Augustine did a ton of hard work to make him self fit the pro style of rb better. Not many guys make them self quicker/faster as a pro. That guy has future coach written all over him. SnC, RBs, or out side of football. we’ve had guys like blink excel and guys chiseled out of granite fail. But that’s the same at every position in every league. Leg power is key, but I think you see a lot of that projecting well from 10 yard splits and agility drills For RBs it’s more about having the right mind set for the physical tools they have then refining the running style to work with both. I see soo many big backs run away from contact where as smaller backs understand how to offset impact by not letting guys square up rather than trying to avoid contact all together. What was once considered the balanced back, is now the go to. Not too big they struggled to get through holes or get small, big enough to bounce off blocks and push the pile. Quickness has always been the biggest value for a rb imo. Change of direction, explosive acceleration, pile pushing soo much comes from quickness. Flexibility, balance, and toughness are what unleash the potential of a quick player. Grant showed that in spades. As much as we saw him stiff arm guys, we saw him just keep his base under him and fight off tackles while running at cover teams. I still think he could’ve been soo much more on offense too. He’s better all around skill wise than Chad Owens was.1 point

We stopped using the "free" shuttles years ago - way too many issues and even if you got on one of the large busses, it was always a game of roulette to see when you would get dropped off as they would stop at multiple resorts. We found booking a private transport company to be much faster/easier. Once you got your luggage, you pass through the gauntlet of time share sharks and just look for your name on a sign, and you're off in minutes. Depending on the company you choose, you would get (or could pre-order) cold drinks for your trip to your resort or if you need to make a stop (bank or store maybe), they will do that too. It's an extra cost for sure and more expensive than a taxi but when your vacation time is limited, we feel it' worth it to not be waiting at the airport/resort for god knows how long before getting picked up.1 point

I first started going to games in 1968 when I was 13, it used to take me well over an hour to get to the games. Winnipeg Transit had buses from all over the city going to the games. I caught my bus at Osborne & Jubilee NB on Osborne Street. Getting home after the games took even longer. Unless the connections on the way home were bang on... At least 90 minutes. caught a bus after the game to take me East down Portage Avenue to the Bay. Do you believe at 11;30 or 11:45 pm (as evening games started at 8 pm) I'd wait on the East side of the Bay for the Osborne bus to take me to my last connection home. The Morley bus in Riverview. No way would it be safe enough to do that now. I never complained. When I started driving, I'd take my car to the games. I'd have to leave my house in Fort Rouge 90 minutes before the game & fight that gawd awful traffic on Kenaston Blvd NB & then over the St James Bridge to get to the stadium. Going home, the same SB on Kenaston was awful. That was the 70's & 80's. I guess it got even worse since. I never complained. Whether by bus or car, it's where I had to go & I never thought anything about it other than I had a rushed dinner when I got home from work.1 point -

As someone who’s been around fitness for my entire adult life, he 100 percent is juiced to the gills.1 point -
For anyone who hasn't seen. https://3downnation.com/2025/03/01/riders-rb-a-j-ouellette-reveals-25-pound-weight-loss-newly-shredded-physique/ I looked long and hard at it twice in my life and decided it wasn't for me. The risks were just not cutting it. I've trained and worked with a considerable number of guys who juiced. Everything from Micro doses /trt to mega doses, etc. With that preface, is it possible for AJO to make that cut without gear? Sure. If he's never done an extensive body reconstitution, has done minimal weights in his past, and has been a lazy eater, it could happen. Realistically, he's a 29-year-old running back. I can't imagine he hasn't been dragged through the weight room at least a few times a year for extended periods each year for the past 15 at least. Now he doesn't have the typical RB build. He's got chicken legs, especially for a 200+ lbs short RB. I don't believe they test in the offseason; that would be way too hard and expensive. At that age, it wouldn't make sense to add a bunch of dense muscle mass as he's probably done the day he loses a step. But if he was going to reconstitute his physique, he should've focused on leg power, then leaning out. He looks like he's been trying to body build more than build for performance. If I were the riders/fan base, I'd be worried. This 29-year-old RB looks like he's hit a heavy cycle and cut for an amateur bodybuilding contest. When he's played 43 games over 5 seasons, 15 once under 10 3 times including more than 2/3s of last year. He's often been in a platoon and still had considerable durability issues. Guys who hit a hard cycle for the first time late in their career, reconstitute, then go into a football season are glass cannons. Riders better be ready with back up RBs.1 point

My turn for complaining/warning about Sunwing & Westjet. A warning for anyone who plans on travelling to Riviera Maya / Playa Del Carmen. We have gone a total of 5 times. The first three times pre COVID we would arrive at the airport in Cancun. Walk outside and would be directed to stand in a line in front of a large charter bus and within 30 minutes would be sitting comfortably inside the bus and driving down the highway to our resort making stops along the way dropping people off at various resorts. Same goes with the travel back from the resort to the airport. These buses used to have a tour guide who would entertain everyone, offer drinks, talk about the area and it was always a great time. Last year when we travelled with West Jet, they no longer had any large buses. We waited over 2 hours for a Cargo van with no AC to take us to our resort. He ended up getting lost, my kid ended up getting sick from the heat and lack of food/drink and we arrived at 10:00 pm and wasted the day. The ride from the resort back to the airport was in a large bus. This past Monday... we travelled with Sunwing. They use a company called Nexus tours for your shuttle rides. We go through the airport and this time the "waiting area" for the shuttles is insanely packed. Nearly no room to stand on any of the sidewalks. It's pure chaos and trying to find what shuttle and where we need to go to be picked up is like a free for all and you HAVE to be rude and push people out of the way to find out where to go. We are directed to stand in an area... similar to last year their was very little charter buses and now it's mostly 6 seater vans. We waited 90 minutes this time.... I should of taken a video because it was pure chaos with tonnes of furious people, kids crying, and complete confusion. People are extremely angry, some give up waiting and end up paying the $100 - $150 USD taxi ride to Playa Del Carmen. Most people who were waiting for a shuttle to a Cancun resort just jump into a taxi and pay the $30 USD fee. I was just pulling my wallet out to pay the $110 cab ride when our name is finally called. We hop into a cramped 6 person van and find out that one couple waited an hour... the other elderly couple waited over 3 hours for a shuttle ride!!! Those other couples also had to pay an extra $20 for god knows what reason? We didn't. We make it to our resort and have a great time during our week at the resort. Now leaving the resort , I check my Sunwing / Nexas Tours app and it confirms shuttle pick up at 11:55 AM. So we check out and sit down at 11:30 AM just in case they come early and anxiously await for our ride. We see the dinky little vans come and go , come and go. Still our name is not called. 2 other families also are waiting next to us and are getting anxious. After waiting 2.5 hours , a resort staff member comes to me and says that the Nexus bus had came to the other lobby and picked up some people. The resort staff told the bus driver that they have 8 other people waiting at our lobby... the bus driver refused to drive the 60 seconds it would take to get to our lobby and drove off. I call Nexas and said I was waiting for 2.5 hours and nobody has picked us up, he gets back to me and says that they can't find anyone to pick us up so I'll have to take a taxi and for me to speak with Sunwing to get a refund. Luckily I had cash and that a taxi was nearby and we ended up making out flight back home. Apparently my cousin had the exact same experience a month ago, different resort but same issues getting back and forth from the airport. Moral of the story... If you go to Cancun or Riviera Maya... budget a taxi ride. The system they use these days is god awful and you end up wasting so much time waiting. I'm guessing they are trying to cut costs and that the taxi drivers are ignoring these "free shuttle rides" because it doesn't pay out like a full price fee that they can pull from a tourist directly with no middle man. All I know is that what used to be an A+ experience has changed to a F- and it's extremely disappointing because it really takes away from a great week in Mexico.0 points

I think that is one of the biggest points of discussion in terms of Walter's efficacy. He can scout Canadian talent, we know that. Can he manage the football ops side in terms of being the leader of the front office and coaching staff? No doubt it is a give-and-take relationship as with any good leadership system. But does he have the ability to be the boss when required? If something unforeseen (and near impossible happened, and some one like Mos had to be fired, would he be capable? I kind of have my doubts about his ability to lead the leaders. I question his ability to accurately gauge the value of players on the free market as well. We often seem to overpay guys or lose them. I also think we have been heavily reliant on guys like Danny, Ted, and Ringmaiden to bring in fresh import talent. It seemed like our ability to scout DL, Lbers, and Imp OL left with ringmaiden. I wonder if our ability to find WRs has left with Ted?0 points
