  1. Ba calls it a career. https://3downnation.com/2025/03/09/veteran-bombers-db-brandon-alexander-announces-retirement-from-cfl/ 8 years strong with 1 professional team. To the Blue Bombers that gave me a chance to play ball again I’m grateful and hopefully every day of my 8 years, I showed how grateful I was/am for that opportunity. My teammates/fans over that period of time made it easy to go to put it on the line everyday. I can’t thank the fans enough that accepted me into your home of Winnipeg, Manitoba. You’ve seen me start my career as a 23-year-old young adult. Always stood behind me and watched me grow into the football player y’all loved to cheer for. Winnipeg only shines because you all put the lights in and on the stadium. I will miss the love I’ve felt over the years. #1 fanbase in the CFL without a doubt. And to my teammates, ya’ll already know what it is. Too many memories were given to me that I will carry for the rest of my life. Can’t replace that. “Love y’all boys.” 37 out”

  2. Alexander to safety was one of the moves that led to the Cup win. Dude had some great years for us.

  3. Alexander was such a key piece for this team's rise. Even when he was clearly past his prime last season it's so hard to say bad things about the guy.

  4. Very Heartfelt goodbye from Alexander and I hope he's successful in his future endeavours....Solid DB and we're most likely going to miss him....He could really bring it especially in the middle days of his career with the bluengold...So long Brandon

  5. Not relevant to this thread, just wanted to say I miss Craig Dickenson as coach of the Riders. He was awful. It was spectacular. That is all.

Rantanen gives Roslovic a Rolex to give up 96 when he was acquired by the Canes, 6 weeks later, Roslovic has his number back and a new watch.

  8. Best of luck to BA in his future endeavours. Another good dude. He was a real one. Changed the secondary when he moved to safety. Prob deserves a spot on the ring of honor down the line and another veteran bites the dust. Bighill and BA, both were obvious. The other one should have been 95 days until camp.

  9. In my opinion Stanley is worse than all of those players. Bring Coghlan back up; he’s lighting up the AHL. Stanley got toasted on the 1st goal and he was on for the 2nd. Thats -2 in a 2-0 game. He’s not good enough. He’s a mistake waiting to happen.

  10. Stanley continuing to play is a kick in every Jets fan’s balls. Enough.

  11. Hoping that's 95 days until Thomas is kicked off the starting lineup!

  12. I remember our incredible head coach 😁 saying something about how BA had a really bright future in coaching because he was always operating in that role even as a player.

  13. Yeah was hoping he'd go the Mike Miller route and stick around as a coach but if he still has the itch to play then I guess it wasn't meant to be.

  14. Love that guy... Wish he could have gone out on top. He gave everything for us. Huge thank you for everything he did to end that GC drought and give us these golden years.

  15. An absolute top tier S. Great over all as a db, but man he did it all back then at S. Solidified our coverage, put the fear into opposition WRs, stopped the run and made all the plays.

  18. Yes, Sawyer has lost patience. "Stanley - nice guy, but he can't keep making mistakes like that and still stay in the line up, with so many others waiting." Haven't we been saying this all year??

  19. Stanley was called out (again) by Sawyer on the first goal, and by CJOB during the first intermission. He is trash.

  20. Stanley does stand out like a sore thumb tho. This team is built on speed forechecking and defensive ability. Stan ain’t good at any of that. Carolina is making Stanley look slow and lost. He can’t keep up and playoffs are all about the speed. Sawyer saying they have better D in the press box is interesting

Carolina offered him 14 million. He signed in Dallas for 12. I think maybe his agent played a role here as i heard Rantanen wasn’t aware that as a ufa he could only sign 8 years with his current team. If he went ufa, he could only sign 7 years with everyone but Carolina where he could sign for 8. He didn’t wanna be there. Now tsn talking about how leafs and canes were talking marner for Rantanen and he expressed interest in Toronto or Edmonton. I dunno anymore. Bunch of fake news all over around deadline and the frenzy day.

  22. I figured the reality of the situation had set in on him that he wasn’t getting signed by this point too. Guess not, not much of a chance he gets another look any where. A lot of vets get that thought from us on their way out, but ba is legit one of the best candidates for coaching. Might make more sense to have him under Jy after hall retires though.

  23. No doubt the rest of the league had the same reactions and guffaws during our Reign Of Error. (Shudder)

  24. 3DN misinterpreted his goodbye to the Bombers as him announcing his retirement. His agent clarified he's still looking to play next season. "He took to social media on Sunday to thank the team for their time together, which some outlets, including this one, interpreted as a retirement message. Instead, Alexander’s agent reached out to 3DownNation to explain that his client isn’t retiring and is still actively looking for his next playing opportunity."

Knowing being right or left dictates things, Imo Miller needs to be on the ice with our current crop of D men especially come post season.

  28. Wouldn't surprise me if Randy sticks around for another year. I always felt Campbell isn't as good as his reputation claimed. Certainly nowhere close to his father. What he did in BC last year cutting VAJ at the knees was mind blowing. If the league really wanted to get sticky about this, they could force the Lions to give them both back. That would deter teams from offsetting like you described.

  32. All that overpaying only to have Campbell sabotage it all wrecking the room and dividing his team with the Rourke nonesense...if only he would have said Rourke is number 2 while he gets readjusted and is there if Vaj can't play or really shats the bed

  33. Found this interesting: Some in CFL circles believe the team will lose not only its first-round pick but also its second-round pick, meaning the violation will be over $300,000, though this remains unconfirmed.

  35. and thats cause you are...as you eloquently stated "John Q Public" as were likely your patrons Times have changed since, but guys still talk to trusted people....and if you are in the fraternity of player/former/coach/off-season trainer you get just as much...if not more info....whether you wanna believe it or not and here's something to much on...some people fraternize with current CFL players/execs/coaches outside of public venues...where there are no ears secretly trying to listen
