  1. The Bombers bankroll the U16 and U18 provincial teams along with camps run all winter and spring in preparation, and not just for the more elite group who end up making those teams. Also U12 and U14 academy programs on top of that. In addition to bankrolling WHSFL league operations, supporting RMFL and supplying all minor football programs, some more than others based on need. They've been running a flag program for a long time. Both at indoor soccer facility and a summer program. I'd bet amateur football in MB would shrink by half if the Bombers pulled back. It costs way less to run a high school program now than when I played because of their support, like by 1/3.

  2. And so it continues ,,around 90 days til training camp you.say , so between Booch and Speedflex that should be about 300 Thomas posts.

  3. For sure, he was a favorite security blanket for Zach. But it seemed like Clercius was picking that up pretty quickly last year. very excited to see what he does with a season under his belt. He really surprised considering how raw was.

  4. I mean he is a huge impact, not a good one for us but huge none the less. The usual cfl.ca quality lol. I think they got to 3 and couldn’t figure it out so they went with the old guy. I think Cjob types would go Brady Demski kramdi. Personally I’d go with 3 key Canadians to watch this year: Gabe Wallace, who has a big chance to fill a spot we badly need filled. With likely only imp competition. Then cam Lawson. We need that nose, we need a guy to take most of Jake’s reps. He was tremendous here before his injury. Finally big Kev. Demski isn’t getting any younger, woli is gone he’s penciled in as a starter. But he flashed a lot more than just blocking next year. I loved woli but I don’t think we will miss a beat. He could be the next big wr break we land.

  5. We'll miss Woogie a LOT in the room, but in the field, I have high hopes for Clercius...

  6. Cauz is an idiot. Neufeld or Kramdi are easily more impacted than Jake.

  7. Discussed this issue with Wab Kinew. They'll contribute $2 sales at LC.

  8. My 2 cents......OL/DL heavy in the draft...If a guy looks to be a standout on specials we could use some depth but IMO our OL/DL needs replenishment

  10. yeah 300 posts is nothing, especially if someone pokes the bear and gets them fired up... Like for example, where do we rank Jake Thomas on the all time blue bombers list? At what point does he go into the team hall of fame? It's just such an inspiration to see guys with a body like that having immeasurable success in a professional league.

  16. The NFL sponsors a flag league right across Canada. I always wondered why the CFL never did. Hopefully, the Bombers & other CFL teams will start doing that in CFL cities.

  17. I see the bombers advertising a rural flag football league starting spring of this year for kids 10-14. This is brilliant, I hope they end up rolling it out to high schools as well. Younger ages would be great too.

  18. They gave him his farewell write up also. He’s not coming back.

  19. I guess anything is possible, but I don't think walters would bring him back. Plus reality must be sinking in that no one wants him. For one of the best lbers ever, being a last gap add mid season after no one wanted him all off season would be pretty embarrassing.

  20. Little bit different in almost every single way Rourke is a weird prospect … below average arm strength for a NFL QB, does a really bad job of adjusting if he’s not just left completely untouched in the pocket. Doesn’t strike me as a player who really has any shot of being a NFL starting QB but he’s still 6’5” and was really efficient in college so coaches will give him a chance over and over. Depending on who you ask he’s anywhere from QB5 to QB12 in the NFL draft. Problem with this for the CFL draft is that he’s already 24 and you have to expect he’s going to get opportunities to compete for at least 3-4 years in the NFL unless he’s so dogshit you don’t even want him as a CFL player. Gonna almost certainly be way more invested in him than in a Hergel so I’m not sure why you’d run the risk early on. If someone wants to, great … let them. Hope it’s not the Bombers though.

  21. Landing even 2 olineman with our top 3 picks would be fine with me. A center and a guard to develop this year and then take over for Kolo and Neufeld would be huge. A Dlineman who replaces Jake would be a dream so I'll say a WR or DB would be nice.

  22. I’d take Rourke, but not in the second. Are we really acting like he’s not about to be a 3rd-4th round pick at worst in the NFL draft? Why would you invest a second rounder in the CFL draft in that, free pick or not? Those are the kinds of moves Calgary made and now look at them. No thanks.
