  1. Of all of Hellebuyck’s stats this year (#1 in wins, GAA, save %, shutouts, games and minutes played, goals saved above expected, games with save % above .900, % of games with save % above .900) this might be the most astounding - of his 51 starts, he has given up one goal or less in 21 of them. Imagine going into a game thinking that to have a chance at a win, you will need to basically shut out the 3rd best offence in hockey right now. How he is not the runaway leader for the Hart Trophy right now, especially given his team’s overall success, is beyond me.

Why do we still get so defensive about the fact that we're overlooked outside of our market? This isn't a new phenomenon. Who really cares... Let people **** on the city and province and not care about the team. **** em. I love this city, this province and I'm excited about the potential of this team. I don't give two flying f***s if anyone else cares. Go Jets Go...

  7. Huge win. 10 points clear of the Stars, although they still have two games in hand. I'm really enjoying not seeing Logan Stanley in the lineup.

Scheifele came to play tonight. Tanev works 50% harder than any other player, what a motor! And Schenn is a hitting machine. Crushed Rantonen into the Jets net. Solid period. Atmosphere at the arena is electric tonight.

Watched Sportsnet Central this morning and the Jets game was the 3rd highlight package they showed. I guess a Canadian team being 1st in the league, playing the 3rd place team, doesn’t qualify as a marquee matchup? What the hell is their criteria?

I’m ok with tsn not pumping our tires cuz that’s the kiss of death. i think last night was a playoff like game. Jets dominated with speed and solid d play. Frustrated Dallas a lot and Big D Couldn’t keep up at times and they certainly were trying hard to do that but just couldn’t. Jets didn’t let them. If Jets play like they did tonight game 1 2 3 4 whoever they play (looking like wildcard team) so Calgary Vancouver. Maybe Anaheim who knows just yet, they win the series 4 0. Dallas couldn’t generate cuz jets didn’t let them. Helle made some big saves but honestly, I think we won with Comrie playing tonight. That’s how shutdown they were defensively.

If he don’t win hart and Jets finish first overall it’s bullshit. Same with the Vézina. Engrave his name on both this year

  16. Not too pleased with the reffing. A brutal missed offside by two feet on the Stars and two called on the Jets player who carried the puck over the line. And for all the stuff that has been let go, that interference call on Miller for a body check was weak. Just be consistent, they are not tonight.

  17. Totally agree....and in Ford was a guy we didn't need to meet ratio, had guys in house already to replace him and his price would have been an anchor and raped us elsewhere. He is easily replaced at that corner spot with just as good...or even better production at well over half the cost.....the allure of him being Canadian is all fine and dandy and a nice story....somepeople just love that....but if he was an import player playing that spot...and similar or even better production...he'd have been just another top tier corner...no loss really If we can stabilize our interior dline...with impact guys....guys who are active and athletic...and can play multiple techniques...and minimize and or elominate reps for the inferior Canadians not named Lawson we be cooking...as our back end is gonna be tight this yr....better than last I bet If Person can step out at camp...like I think he will....Vaughters would be the perfect guy to spell him and WJ off...and not be relied on to absorb too many snaps and keep him and WJ fresh....interested to see how Younger evolves his system

  21. Yeah, excited about the type of player Kelly is and what he can become. Athletically viable Canadians, who are smart, and have that toughness are a great keystone to build around. Makonzo, kelly, and kramdi give us a great bit of utility on D with the Canadians. No more need for Lbers/dbs who are pylons, and DL who aren't even that. JY has a tremendous tool to throw out different packages this year. Its going to be great to see how he develops and uses them. Big fan of Griffin. I think he could adjust to play most any position, but is probably at his best inside. Should be a lock to take a starting spot this year. Forgot about parker, if he's 100% that's a big sleeper too. Guys like Makonzo, and Parker despite not being huge can bring a lot better tackling and physicality to the secondary this year.
