  1. https://www.cfl.ca/2025/03/28/bc-toronto-saskatchewan-ottawa-exceed-2024-salary-expenditure-cap/ "In addition to being fined, the BC Lions will forfeit the highest of their first- and second-round selections (Nos. 3 and 9) in the 2025 CFL Draft due to the amount by which they exceeded the cap. BC retains its lower second-round selection (No. 11)." It wasn't worth it, BC. Way to shoot yourself in both feet

  2. BC forfeits their 1st and 2nd round draft picks for 2024 salary cap violations. $350K, wow!

  3. They basically paid $1.3 million for their starting QBs last year that’s the big difference…then Betts. They deprived themselves of so many roster spots, starting crappy players on rookie deals throughout their LB and secondary group which basically killed their chances to even get to the Grey Cup game. Imagine how far over they would have been if they paid for a defense.

  4. Yea....this makes no sense whatsoever. The fairest way is everyone move up a slot like in past years.

  5. Not in comparison to the rest of the league, but they gave Calgary an extra advantage that devalues every other pick by 1-2 slots from the end of the first round to the end of the draft. If they remove the picks we're picking 6, 14, 16. Now we're picking 6, 15, 18.

  6. Losing a 1st and a 2nd, plus a fine for finishing 3rd and losing in the first round of the playoffs. Way to go BC. Calgary getting 2 extra picks for being incompetent is foolish.

  7. Depends on how you look at it RE adding picks. BC forfeits the picks but then they are added back at the end of each round for Calgary. Not sure how they decided they are added before the extra Canadian picks instead of after. Nice reward for failure for Calgary. Could be gifting them two impactful players for nothing…because BC f’d up. To me, they are added picks. Teams lose their picks for supplemental draft and they aren’t handed out to other teams. Teams have lost picks for SMS violations in past years and they are just dropped from the draft.

  8. From the Winnipeg Sun: “We’ve always said how unique it would be to have a winner here in Winnipeg,” DeMelo said. “Everybody doubts us. It would be great to stick it to everybody else that we can be a winner here in a market that people don’t think we can do it in.” DeMelo Sweets words Mr. DeMelo.

  9. Murphy was an odd pick imo. Didn't play special teams at all, didn't really have any tangibles that set him apart as far as I'm aware. Always thought it was an odd pick, especially in the 3rd round. oh well, good luck to him in his future endeavors.

  10. It’s actually insane, they went that far over to finish 3rd, and lose in the WSF. Rourke and Betts worth all that? I don’t think so.

  11. Agreed but they've been rewarding mediocrity through the draft for a few years now. This is just a step from the extra territorial draft picks they've been handing out.

  12. Yea...he has a point on Petey and Simonise but Woli was literally starting the last 5 games of his year 1 and held the starter position after that. As for Petey and Simonise, they did play many snaps for us and we moved on. Sometimes it is unfair to say they never got a chance when their production was pretty meh in the snaps they were given. Neither Petey nor Simonise has done much of anything since they left so it leads me to believe they just weren't good enough. When we release someone who actually produces somewhere else, the argument can be made we held them back but until then it's kind of unfair to criticize the brass for not playing inferior talent. I mean it's not like we held them on our PR until they were too old to be developed. Both Petey and Simonise were young enough when they left here that they could have shown they were being held back. Neither man did.

  13. It seems odd to me that Calgary benefits now by getting extra picks (last ones in the first two rounds) due to BC forfeiting. Am I understanding that right?

  14. He had some potential that went unrealized....but yea...kind of a bit of a flyer in the 3rd round. Probably a 6th round talent really.

  15. Or maybe he came to the realization that he isn't good enough to be rostered and moved on from football. Seriously, we get your point on roster but digging in your heels about Murphy being denied roster time is a strange use of this argument. At no time did he ever demonstrate that he was better than anyone on our roster.

Jets vs Minnesota would be my preferred round 1 match up. Colorado vs Dallas also round 1.

  17. The CFLPA confirmed today that they haven't decided what to do with their share of revenue sharing. Just give everyone roster bonuses. https://3downnation.com/2025/03/27/cfl-salary-cap-increase-not-set-in-stone-cflpa-still-working-through-revenue-share-allocation/

  19. he was prob tired of not getting to be on the roster in lieu of slugs like Thomas...Kolo...etc....and said eff it....especially when we showed several yrs running we would play hurt guys over our "other number ones"...dont blame him Left like BOLO did.....said eff this crap

  22. The fines for going over the cap get distributed to the teams that were under. As a result, the Bombers will be receiving about 150k. So, even though TO, Sask and Ottawa werent over by alot they still lose out on some cash.

  23. we only need to start 7 "true" Canadians...the 8th could be WJ...Bryant....Wilson...Nichols...Holm... So depending on where they declare...5 on offense (2 OL...Demski...BO...Clercius) and 2 on defense...where they slap the 2 is up for debate but I'd prefer to see it at safety and boundary corner...now do we have the guy for that? Who knows but I'd rather see that for if anything give us a more stout front 7 Ideally tho I see no reason why we dont go 3 OL guys as we have....shouldnt be hard...I sure as it sits we be just fine with Wallace and Neuf with Eli and a draft pick in the hopper....and just need to use 1 Canadian on defense and he could be at multiple spots...depending on what we are sCheming throught a game....SafetY some plays..DT....SAM...

  24. I was never a Murphy fan....but players...regardless of supposed talent get tired of being over looked and not a chance...especially when guys are not 100 percent... He could play teams tho on was not a liability on coverage teams by any stretch....so he had use....dont get me wrong...he's no loss and there are prob 3..4 other guys we likely to roter ..again and if we moved on for a younger guy with possible upside...they would not be missed Point is...Woli almost walked away for the very reason BOLO basically did before he re-upped his 2nd deal...or was it 3rd...one of them but was talked into staying by teammates...and those 2 instances aren't isolated....just sayin Good thing we locked Lawson in because I am sure if he wasnt locked up, and played second fiddle to you know who last yr...and shred reps with him again this yr...he's be outta here...and who would blame him

  25. Ya totally agree that it doesn't make sense. The picks should just be forfeited. Bombers aren't any worse off though. Just Calgary gets a huge bonus.

  27. Yeah the expression is "sucks to suck" to "pays to suck" I guess "pays to suck" is the oldest profession. Basically penalizes us for playing the most Canadian snaps by knocking that pick down 2 spots.

  29. I watched him play a lot in RSEQ. 3rd round was a bit high, but he was also very productive in the RSEQ. Real clutch WR with great hands and could catch in traffic. But, he wasn't a big play game breaker like Kevin Mital was. Still, I'm surprised he wasn't a rotational WR in the CFL. Maybe he could have been on the Redblacks, but he's moved on. Good for him.

  33. Yep, Bombers left him on the PR to end the year so he clearly wasn't a top priority for them.

Everything from rock to metal is so compartmentalized that it's buried and stands alone. Rock exists; it just isn't particularly mainstream (it's always come and gone in waves) right now. More than auto tune, the level of technical mixing and production polish that goes into albums now has every thing feel far more poppy. Unless it is a literal garage band that you don't hear the gritty sounds any more. even though that really dominated the sound of 90s rock/metal etc. You really have to work and search to find bands in those kinds of niche now.
