  1. buck got stupid vs. collaros got old.... this season will tell the tale.

  2. Also, you can watch Chris Streveler on Instagram @cstrevy5. I've been following his off season workouts & I don't think I've seen a pro athlete work as hard as Streveler, not only to overcome his knee injury but also to keep working on changing his fundamentals from the old "linear" to the more modern "rotational" qb. He looks ready to go as well.

  3. Good athlete, big modern athletic build, he’s more of a project not a lot of experience.

  4. Now that's a training camp....or how it should be... They need to get snaps in both You also inviting injury to them...or to someone really valuable as collateral damage from coddling them to...in game condition isn't just about aerobic condition and seeing things...it's the bodies re-acclimation to being hit...getting first hits in a regular season game is just asking for yr long issues...funny thing..we've seen that...alot here for the last 3..4 yrs...hmmmm imagine Camp is a joke now...practices in season even worse...80 percent of guys now couldn't handle how it was.. Like him

  5. The commissioner has rarely had a significant role in those areas. They have a competition committee that deals with rule changes. Under Ambrosie aside from the off-field conduct and major decisions like suspensions and Marino barring a player from the league most of the supplemental discipline has been handled by Darren Hackwood and the group of game supervisors. Yeah the Halifax thing is a joke that needs to end. They have major issues with every franchise west of Sask. BC is doing ok if the owner keeps plowing cash in and is willing to lose money. See how long that lasts. Edmonton and Calgary both have major problems off the field. Hard to know how long those franchises can stand with major losses, like $5 million a year in operations. Montreal, Toronto always need attention too.

  7. I was somewhat unsettled after the LA game. Coach Arniel seemed to have had a more positive view of the effort than I did, but last night soothed a lot of my concerns and showed again why coaches are coaches and fans are fans. Team was dialled in from the start, that was a playoff-style effort and game plan. Hopefully the injury bug is not rearing its head now after a fairly clean year, but a result like that renews my good vibes about this team finishing first and making a deep run. Exciting times.

  8. Nice to see EC get the shut out. If CH continues his struggles in the playoffs ( a BIG hope not), wonder if EC gets a look? Probably not and hopefully it never comes to having this discussion.

  11. Perfs ices it. Comrie played unbelievable tonight. Made up for that Buffalo game in spades And even more importantly, keeping the cushion between us and the stars

  12. They made a mistake letting the young guy we developed go and sticking with Zach. Huge mistake.

  13. No OL in the cfl is good enough to protect a qb who holds onto the ball for a long time but can't escape anymore. Collaros used to be able to dodge pressure and make things happen, now he gets buried by pressure. It's sad, but the dude is not the same guy he was when he first got here. Age is a mother f'er

  14. Agreed. It'll be interesting to watch how all of that develops.

  15. The sun shines on every dogs ass now and then. Games like that are the exception with collaros these days.
    2 points
  16. Yep, the lack of progression is one of the biggest issues we had. We didn’t set any thing up. We saw a heavy reduction in the play action to set up deep shots, and we went from a team that ran every play in our book out of every formation we used to extremely predictable plays out of formations. The pa screen off motion / half boot was getting jumped soo fast even by bad Ds.

  17. To an extent, it’s a good thing. The idiocy of denying water, hard ass two a days ending with wind sprints till you puke then forced ice bathes was awful. That said the pendulum has swung too far imo. I’d rather see an extra week, with 3 days 1 apart where teams do a full pads two day practice of about 3 hours each including one scrimmage. No stupid drills, but reasonable approximation of football game play. Stick the extra week before/in the middle of the pre season depending on the year for teams.

  18. They do. 1 quarter and 1 half in the two games is standard and should be pretty close to it plus or minus a bit. honestly, with the failure to execute in the pivotal game the last few years, I’d consider running them out longer. It used to be a hand shake agreement with the hcs when you’d switch to rookies and how long vets would stay out. That doesn’t seem to be it any more. I might split up quarters of the first game, then let the best players of the first game play 3/4 together. Send a strong message to the locker room, every game is important and no one is taking a month off this year. Be ready be sharp or be replaced.

Notice how the 2 of the 3 worst franchises in the CFL are run by the same companies that own NHL teams? Calgary owner is worse than MLSE. He puts zero dollars into the team for promotion. You don't even know we have the Stamps here. We're the only CFL team that has no indoor practice facility. He refuses to reinvest in the team. A billionaire who could easily afford building a practice facility & stadium just refuses to do anything.

  20. At this point now...he won't be better...adequately capable? I think on a consistent basis that's a stretch now too..the succession and or plan in place should have been in place last yr already..and if that meant letting guys like Biggie..Thomas...even a demski go last yr to keep Brown..then so be it tho I still not 100 percent sold he is the guy yet either Buck will have him duck and chuck and go 70 percent deep to intermediate vertical all game...does he have the oline there to not get him killed?? TBD Buck had hard time deviating from a game plan if it wasn't working

That's what I've always said. Two jobs. One job is for the day to day football operations. Deal with player suspensions, rule changes, on field problems. The other is more of a marketing kind of role. Involvement in negotiating a new CBA, tv contract, finding new opportunities to generate revenues, expansion & getting players (dare I say "star" players?) out there doing commercials & PR events.

  27. Which is why I want to see how Buck utilizes Rourke. It'll be a good indicator of how much of the Bombers' offensive decline was his fault.
    1 point
  28. I KNOW he can.... Just a matter of how often. I'm not arrogant enough (*waves*) to say for sure that he's done or isn't done.... But it's still in him. I really believe that if he has a VERY good OL, he'll have the confidence to go out and be that guy more often than not.

  29. Well, I hope comrie has a bounce back effort after that game against the Sabres. Pylon Giraffe needs to touch the puck as minimal as possible. Going to be a tough game.

  31. If you follow qbmotion on Instagram, then you could have watched Rourke work out every day since New Years Day. The guy has put in the work this off season & he looks ready to go.

  32. I think Buck is very conservative in his play calling. He had a qb & two wideouts (Lawler & Schoen) who could stretch the field. When he lost Schoen for the season we couldn't do what we used to do, even after Lawler came back. I didn't see a lot of innovation or imagination with our passing attack. It'll be interesting what Buck does with Rourke. This might be a case of oil & water.

  33. I definitely think he can play at an all star level. But it would need to be with a great running game. I'm not sure he can be the guy to carry a team for a season.

  36. https://3downnation.com/2025/04/03/roughrider-foundation-invests-1-8m-in-saskatchewan-amateur-football/ riders put out a big investment in the grass roots game with some much needed equipment. We do this and a couple other teams do it every soo often. I’d love to see the league and the teams go in together on this stuff. If every team was invest 1 million bucks every 3-4 years like this, and grouped that money to make a single large purchase I’m sure they’d get a lot more bang for their buck. Id also love to see a compensatory pick round for the two teams that do the most each year to grow the game at the grass roots level.

  37. You're reminiscing about the Dru Brown years with Dakota Prukop, haven't heard a peep about the QB room since Brown left. Rumour has it Dolegala mostly hangs out in the hallway cause he can't get past the door. Still wearing frickin Rider green, cause it fits.

  38. It’s entirely true of the product on the field. We took vanilla and made it bland gelatine. I have no doubt the room was watching and talking about stuff but virtually none of it made it to the field.

    Meet the New Boss

I think he’s a high level business side guy for this position. I do have concerns though with the fact he has no experience running a league or team, in football, and that his tsn ties could be a conflict of interest with the upcoming tv deal renewal. Maybe for us maybe for them. I don’t know. Jbr summed it up perfectly. In whelmed. I don’t think many people want the commish job.

  43. The thing is his bad games have very largely been in the post season with all kinds of teams around him. That kind of consistent struggle is worthy of criticism. Sport performances are biased towards play off success. From Marino to big shot bob. Expectations are higher in the play offs, success and failure are amplified justly. We’ve seen similar loses our self here like with Kelly off the bench. The chances for a qb other than Zach winning that game was real low for us. But the chances of post injury Zach winning it was zero.

  44. If it was a one off you got some traction there.... but we're on 3 straight years of making excuses for the top paid qb in the league...

  45. That wind coupled with our strong second half of the season had me thinking we were the team of destiny until that got cruelly dashed.

  46. if he was QB here for us iun the grey cup the last 2 yrs...I bet we win those games....with the supporting cast we had....He got boned hard last yr by Campbell...and has been in situations in 2 of his stops where it was less than ideal inside the organizations.....if how things are here as many claim....he would have a couple rings easily
