  2. yup....we need to build a system that can work in various ways and if something isnt there...we have other bullets in the gun...we went away from that and yup...boom or bust was the result I think if we can get ZC head into the idea of a more surgical an dare I say game manager...I'd rather say game controller mode...he may actually look like he has had a resurgenace.....he's not a gunslinger anymore, or a play extender running around waiting for things to open up...we do this.....He may even have another yr or 2 in him with a solid group around him After Bucks first yr, where he kinda took some DC's by surprise...he was figured out and in my opinion was what ailed us on offence all yr.....compound that with the brain dead idea to not play anyone in the off-season...Trying to make Mitchel and Johnson a thing and no ability to adjust...well the early season results was inevitable

  3. Also, I know fans like to **** on Chevy but he should win GM of the year. For the Jets to win the Presidents' Trophy while being on most players' no trade trade list is an accomplishment to say the least.

  4. This is a good point. I don't understand how there is so little chatter for Arneil for the Jack Adams. Most so called experts had the Jets as a bubble playoff team at best. Winning the President's trophy would seem to indicate a coach who elevated his team above expectations. Another reason for this team to play the underdog card as motivation.

  6. I think Buck's biggest error was not adjusting to his personnel when injuries hit the receiving corps. He kept pushing along as if Lawler and Schoen were in the lineup and that was a recipe for disaster early on.

  7. It would be Collaros at a cap amount of $600K.

  8. Which of those 3 will be the biggest drain on the team compared to the amount of cap they eat up... TBD. Be between Rourke and collaros IMO.

  10. Mitchell is more brittle than Zach. His shoulder is surgically repaired & if he takes a hit it'll be over. Zach isn't held together by surgical thread & staples. One hit to the head may finish him as a player but he seems to have developed a bit of a toughness/longevity streak the past 4 seasons. We'll see.

    Random Jets News

Calgary won Sunday so they are still in. They basically need to win their last 2 games to have a chance and have Minni lose in regulation or St Louis lose in OT/shootout. If Calgary loses in regulation on Tuesday night we will find out who the Jets are up against.

  12. I like this idea, Yazbeck looks good. Bombers have been very lucky with BO's health, he hasn't suffered a serious injury since his rookie season, not sure how long that luck will hold out as it's inevitable a physical RB will break down. Bring in another Natl. RB to lighten his load and diversify and expand the running game seems like a change in direction no other team could execute or would expect to defend against.

  13. That should be the goal. A Swiss Army knife who can play some wr/te, catch out of the back field, run and fill all the blocking roles. He’s got the measurables, the work ethic, character, and the head for it imo. He needs reps and polish running with the ball running routes and catching. He may not need to be a 1k rusher, but a 400-500 rusher and catcher would be great. Id be in favour of that, a bit more sustainable long term. Mci is one of the guys I’m most looking forward to this camp. The 4 top picks from last year all are poised to take big steps. Mci, big Kev, Wallace and Samson (kind of the forgotten man in that group) I don’t normally do camp posts but I might this year specifically on a couple guys including those 4. He was a big guy top to bottom, but big square shoulders really don’t benefit RBs like big thick legs do.

  14. Yes was a concerted effort to lean down...still big and.poweful but more explosive and some elusiveness to him...not all about battering ram style..as that wasn't gonna.be sustainable

  15. New players yeah...who deserve it..we kept other guys on team for several yrs too on pr for most part..where they now? As a professional staff...should be pretty easy to weed out the inadequate fairly fast

  16. Not sure, but maybe back in the Mike Riley days, I thought he was paid over $700k to sign with the Lions. BLM got a significant raise around the same time from the Stamps that put him up around $600k to keep pace. I don't think any other QB benefited, Ricky Ray was trending down at that time and Zach hadn't yet started his resurgence. Going way back, Cal Murphy paid Dunigan enough to almost bankrupt the Bombers, I think it was around $800k. That would have been during the marquee player exemption, kicked off by the Argos signing Rocket Ismail, who to this day is the highest paid player in CFL history at $4.55 million per season. Whether Bruce McNall actually paid him that amount or not is still disputed.

    Restaurant/food thread

It said tarriffs but why OP went back and edited the post to star it out is beyond me. It's not like it's an offensive word. If the board software would have auto-censored it, the whole word would be starred out, not just some of the letters.

    Around the NHL 2024-25

It would always be considered a fluke, and it might not be wrong. I just feel like th league will always stack things against Canadian teams because it doesn't benefit them to have a Canadian team win. It's all about promotion in the sunbelt where there's less fans. That's who they want to give the Cup to (and all the auxiliary events like ASG, Draft, etc...)

  20. I suspect stem cell therapy played a role, he's from Texas and Mexico is right next door, quite a few NFL players have used it with good results. I can't recall another QB that has rehabilitated their throwing arm so thoroughly, by the end of last season BLM was throwing some beautiful balls effortlessly.

  23. Even when the Brady train was on the tracks. That’s what pissed me off last season the most. Brady was a man possessed most games yet they constantly went away from what was working (Brady) Buck was a QB and a QB who liked to throw. Hopefully Not Hulk Hogan cuz dudes a clown now brother but hopefully hogan uses Brady and Logan I dare say atleast 50 percent of the time. Demski and Mitchell I’m sure could also be used out the backfield.

  24. The offence has to evolve away from the boom or bust offence we have run the past 2 years. We need to get back to the misdirection, backfield in motion, of the first Buck year's with an expanded package for Strev. We do that and we are going to be just fine even with Zac. Buck saw our receiving corps and decided to stretch the field more, but when Lawler and Schoen missed significant time we didn't have the horses to do it and he kept at it.

  25. The Brady bobblehead for season ticket holders is pretty sweet.

  26. He trains underwater in a pool carrying a weight. He can hold his breath for nearly 5 minutes. I think he felt as he ages he has to change things up. Apparently last off season he bulked up which led to early season injuries. This off season he wants to build up his stamina.

  29. He was a doofus who thought he was clever. Straight arming fans and the media was not memorable. It was maddening, frustrating and very confusing.

  30. He left the team worse off at the qb position. I mean yes Glenn maybe wouldn't take the team to the promised land... but he was better than the **** jelly threw out there. Toss Glenn when you have a replacement, not before.

  31. We need to make MCI into a multi role hybrid guy..a bigger Drury type...but be important on jumbo packages...like I said..I'd like to see him used at times like a true TE...like they say you can't teach/coach athleticism and he's prob top 3 on our team in regards to athleticism...they will find his role BO to me seems to be morphing his game a Lil from what I seen this offseason..I think we gonna see more quickness and explosion outta him..coming in more lean

  32. Actually, Calgary still has a chance to catch St Louis as well. Still some final slots to be finalized.

  33. He was right though. Kevin Glenn was a path to nowhere. Guy played 18 seasons in the CFL with almost every franchise and never won a Grey Cup, even as a backup. He won 4 playoff games in his whole career. He only made it to 2 Grey Cups and started 1. That is borderline impossible in a 8/9 team league. Can **** on him for not being able to identify/develop a QB but the Kevin Glenn decision was necessary at the time for the franchise.

  34. I remember him cutting talented guys and then running a crappy out dated offense that failed horribly and mid season he tried to salvage the year by signing Bishop and throwing bombs. Maybe I mis-remembered , but didn't Kelly critique anyone running plays in the shotgun formation and then mid season that was all that he was running?

  35. Insulted Knuckles. Insulted the fans. Acted like a complete ******* to everybody. Thought he was smarter than he was. Terrible decisions. Lack of results. Kelly was the Donald Trump of coaches.

  36. Imagine BO and Logan in backfieldd with Streveler...used as an actual QB with just the threat he "may" run ...key word being may....so many possibilities.....toss in some heavy Demski in motion again......good luck with that yeah ZC at this point just needs to play within...be smart with ball and take whats there.....pushing it will open up if he does that Getting a sense we are gonna be a more possession ...methodical offence this yr....grinding unit As mentioned by others as well would love to see us morph a Clercius at times, or a different big bodied receiver as a true tight end thats used as a passing option...MCI could even fit that scenario...spread out the defense in the box and draw guys away from the scrum with a legit receiving option breaking off the edge
