Absolutely, but in the case of the Minneapolis shooting, I can't fault the cop entirely. I once read an account of someone who had been pulled over by police and told the officer he had a concealed weapon and a permit. Keep your hands visible at all times. NEVER reach for something outside of the officer's view when he knows you are armed. Get out and allow the officer to search and disarm you. Like you said, Americans like their guns, and you can't fault police for being nervous around them. There are plenty of instances where officers have been shot when everything seemed normal and they let their guard down, and those are the situations they are trained to be aware of.

Wait, so we can't edit our pick due to injury? I don't see anything in the rules about that.

Pretty vanilla, but: West: BC: 8-10 CGY: 12-6 EDM: 9-9 SSK: 4-14 WPG: 10-8 East: HAM: 11-7 TOR: 9-9 OTT: 12-6 MTL: 7-11 HAM beats CGY for the cup.

Has anyone picked Andrew Harris yet? I'll take him. Edit: Sutton.

Here's an example of an elevated cycling bridge from the Netherlands at a light-controlled intersection. One of these things would make it a way more interesting intersection than pedestrians crossing at street level.

Corby looks like he had been taking workout tips from Jade Etienne. -
The plane needs an update. Paint it royal blue, make it louder (maybe outfit it with a turbine), gold rims, etc.

Rough couple of games heading into a weekend in Minneapolis. Anyone else heading down to watch some baseball this weekend? I'm hoping a weekend of beating up on the woeful Twins helps them get their heads straight.

I thought someone probably told him to knock it off as well. Figured someone at TSN had complained to the league.

I'd like the Bombers to take their highest rated OL and Corney if he's available at 9 & 10. Corney has put up unreal testing numbers, and performed well against big schools last year in college. Give him a year or two to learn from Westerman and it might not matter if we ever see Mulumba in Blue & Gold.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washington-redskins/christo-bilukidi/cash-earnings/ He's made about $1.6 million since he was drafted (plus some PR money here and there). Chop that in half at least to cover taxes and living expenses, and he's far from set for life. Unless he's got another job or business interests lined up, I think five or six years of making $150-200k would go a long way to padding his savings to help him out after football.

Blaszko and van Gylswyk are also headed to Giants mini camp. I don't begrudge these guys for going, but this is just silly. How does it benefit the Giants to have that many bodies in mini camp? Do they bring in sacrificial lambs to make the guys they drafted feel good about themselves?
-
A bunch of CIS guys got mini camp invites last year right after the draft too (mostly to the Giants), and I can't remember any who left with contracts in hand. If you don't have a contract going in, odds of having one coming out are pretty low. It really just puts CFL teams in wait-and-see mode before May 10th.

I would 100% recommend Roost (http://www.roostcustombuilders.ca/). They do fantastic work and are great guys to deal with. They're great at making old spaces new, and the quality of their work will make you feel good about living there afterwards. Buyers notice quality work as well, so you probably want to get it done right.

Speaking of no-layoff contracts, MPI employees voted on a new four-year contract last month with a no layoff clause. The union told people that this was a take it or leave it offer, and if it was rejected, they'd have to roll the dice re-starting negotiations again after the election. Doesn't take a genius to figure out who the MGEU would rather negotiate with...

Well, other than a couple of fielding errors they looked pretty good in the opener yesterday. Got win #1 of 110 this season out of the way...

Choice of channels coming to cable TV packages soon.

With Shaw, their sports offerings include two main bundles for $8 each. One includes Sportsnet and the other one has TSN and all its affiliates. Those jerks know I need to watch both CFL and Jays games, so they've got me and most other Canadian sports fans right where they want them. Wonder how much just TSN and SN will cost to buy individually. Aside from that $16 gouging, the only thing the wife and I will subscribe to beyond the basic package is the $4 bundle that includes HGTV and Food Network. Gotta have some mindless House Hunters viewing once in a while. So taking the $25 package and adding TSN, SN, and HGTV turns a $25 package into a $45 package. Buncha crooks. -
Wab also said part of his turn-around was because he was called to task by his wife and other women in his life. The problem with that 'revelation' is that he was already a married father of two when he released that album and won the award in 2009. Did the ladies he references just sit idly by (pun intended) for five years (and before that when he was a member of the Dead Indians) while he was benefiting from these albums? Or was he ignoring their pleas until it was beneficial to publicly acknowledge them 18 months ago, at pretty much the exact same time he was being hired as an associate VP at a public post-secondary institution?

With combines going on this week/weekend, it's time to start obsessing over how the draft is going to shake down. Justin Dunk released his first mock draft today, and while I'm a little surprised that none of the OL ranked in the top 20 were still there at nine, I'd be happy to get Smith there. According to CBS, he's the 72nd ranked WR in a weak WR draft class, so I'm thinking his chances of sticking down there are pretty low. If this draft holds true, I'd be happy with the Bombers taking Smith and Abdesmad at nine and ten. http://www.cfl.ca/2016/03/07/2016-cfl-mock-draft-1-0/
