No End Call - CFL confirms it was an incorrect call
dmillerywg replied to Floyd's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Have to check the game video to see if they can see if the official signalled okay. Replays on Twitter have the official clearly signalling okay to Adams, however he does look to line up a bit behind. Still the ref said it was fine. He was perfectly lined up you as long and you are not than 1 yard back you are fine, and it was 9 3/4 if you look at the yard marker he clearly was withing 1/2 yard so well within the rules. That REF needs to have a big fine or just let him so because he clearly effected the outcome of a game for NO REASON... -
what available coach would you hire?
dmillerywg replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Agreed I think MOS will get one more year and Marcel B. will be offered up for a sacrifice ( as deserved ) the new OC that MOS hires will determine his furture with the Bombers. As much as I think MOS has been part of the problem I still think he can be a very good HC in the CFL... -

I am not asking for full pads or full contact, I know what a practice should look like I have coached and watched many of them. What I am suggesting is that one of the reasons they are so bad on offence is they don't go full speed when running their plays. And they don't spend enough time in practice working on Scrimmaging to prepare for the games.
-
MOS is ultimately on the line for the players poor play because he has setup the environment where its ok to not be prepared. I think the cutting of Simmons will send a message to the Special Teams he was dogging it on a number of plays that I saw and now that we have Wild we don't need Simmons anyway...
-
I would suggest that just because MOS played in the CFL it doesn't mean he can run a high level practice, I am not saying all of the practice is bad my main complaints are listed above, however MOS isn't insisting on a high intensity of practice similar to how he doesn't seem to demand effort in the games and there is no ( at least public ) consiquences for poor play / effort. MOS is clearly searching for answers if you listened to the coaches show he said "did I work the players too hard in practice" so he seems to think their performance in Montreal might be because he worked them too hard ? I am not suggesting anyone take my opinion, I simply presented it and was hoping others might have seen practice and would weight in with their thoughts.
-
1) No one is demanding maximum effort in practice the coaches can't be heard from the stands and when the team has the record it has had the past 2 years that is not acceptable. 2) Players going 60-70% in scrimmage and the coaches seem ok with that. 3) Not NEARLY enough scrimmage TIME to work out the offensive plays so how does anyone expect the offense to improve ? 4) Too much time on special teams wasting everyones time, at this point you should have your special teams done and most of it can be done in the meeting rooms no need to waste time on the practice field... Bottom line to me practices are not at an elite level to help the team improve and that is my biggest complaint of MOS I have talked to others that know about how to run a FB practice and they agreed with me that the Bombers practices looks way to casual...

Good point if its just a walk-through then that makes more sense.

The Bigger question is why only 10 Minutes on Scrimmage it doesn't seem enough to me especially for a struggling Offence with an New QB ???
-
And more importantly which Winnipeg Resturant is it ?

That was Longo's fault not Bryant, and if you ask me you could blame Walters Greaves was better than that ,not saying Longo won't be good but why not make sure BEFORE you make the trade...

Marcel Bellefeuille - When does he get axed
dmillerywg replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Denmark has been dogging it for over a month if you ask me Moore is by far out best REC but he is out every 1/3 of the games Adams is our second best and has missed some time. Denmark is having Another off year his best year was last year but the year before was bad and this year is bad to me its time to move on... We need IMP REC depth asap Veltung is ok but isn't lighting the world on fire and he has been banged up as well, I like what I have seen of Willie but he has only gotten in a few plays. We lack big strong RECs that can take the hits to me this is the single biggest area of failure for Walters and company, be bought in 10 or so new RECs and only Veltung remains and so far he is ok but nothing special ? Wille was cut and brought back... -

Open question for MBBers - direction of the franchise

I think the Marcel B. be offered up in an attempt to save MOS however the more I see the more I think MOS isn't ready to be a head coach his first 3 co-ordinators where are terrible Etch Tracey and Marcel B. and he isn't touch enough on his players and runs low intensity practices so not good enough MOS... If MOS gets fired as well I will be much happier at this point I was willing to give MOS some time however I don't see enough improvement and when you can't even run a proper practice I don't see how you can ever have a Winning team... -
Open question for MBBers - direction of the franchise
dmillerywg replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Agreed I see Walters getting at least 3 years and possibly longer, he has many a number of good trades and picked up many player he can't help it if the coaches don't know how to assess talent he only tries to pickup as many players as possible, I would have thought we would have a better REC core with all of the players in camp but they got cut one after one until we have Gordon and Veltung and Gordon is terrible and Veltung is ok but nothing special. I would have kept a bigger target at REC I think that is something the Bombers miss this year. And its a good thing I am not in charge of the Bombers I would have cut a number of players already and brought in some that actually wanted to play... -
Open question for MBBers - direction of the franchise
dmillerywg replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Funny but I see it the much differently , I see that Walters has gone above and beyond to get talent the the Coaches have messed it up after all a good coach tells the GM what he wants then the GM goes out and gets the players. I have no problem with Walters other than the fact that he picked a rookie head coach that is clearly learning on the job. I put most of the problems on the fact that Marcel B. is not able to coach his way out of a wet paper bag he is garbage and MOS picked 3 horrible co-ordinators ( Etch and Tracey Gone Marcel to follow ) showing he was not ready to be a head coach and MOS pratices are garbage as well he has no clue how to run a top level practice...
