I think Tanev is a high effort guy, with great speed and he's a pretty tenacious forechecker, but I don't think he should be on the 3rd line. His skill set fits the 4th line, IMO.

This. Being able to challenge illegal contact is ridiculous and that's what teams look for when they need a desperation bail out call. Most of the time it has nothing to do with the play and the QB never even looks to the side where the 'infraction' takes place.

Maybe sitting out helped to motivate him, I have no idea. But I would think being a bottom of the barrel NHL player, would be motivation enough.

Just because he scored, doesn't mean he's a good player. I have to say, he's played better these last few games, but I still don't think he's good enough to be in the starting lineup. Too often he looks lost and is just floating around out there.

Buff's shifts are definitely too long, but is anyone going to tell him to trim them down? Doesn't seem like it. On the radio yesterday they were saying he had over 25 minutes of ice, in his 1st game back, and several of his shifts were between 1:30 and 2 minutes. That's way too long IMO.
