  1. Yup, that's where I pulled the $31.54 mark up on a 1.7L bottle of liquor from.
  2. Ok, so then a $31.54 mark up on a 1.7L bottle of liquor is far more than the taxes on the same bottle...
  3. Ok, you might be right- I might be reading this all wrong: https://www.mbllpartners.ca/sites/mbll_b2b/files/pdf_pamphlets/Pricing Information Manual 2022 (1).pdf
  4. Don't sell yourself short. I agree it looks daunting, but if you give it a shot with a bit of patience- it will eventually be second nature. Age has nothing to do with it- there are a nice selection of quality of life and accessibly settings that can make a game more friendly to someone just playing for the story. You can literally customize the different areas of difficulty. I'm 48 and have no problems with the controllers- granted, with every new game the controller map out changes and it takes some time to get used to. Also, the jump from wii or n64 controller to PS5 or Xbox controller is not that huge. But seriously, just jump in and try it out- I personally think that some of the best story telling these days is in these games.
  5. Fair- Most of the material I was reading was strongly pointing in that direction, but with weasel language- I see that now. How is that bogus? that was the cost of alcohol related health care. Increased sales of alcohol increase the related health care costs- if the profits were funneled into private hands, then the government would be short that amount. Sure, you may get better revenue, but most of that goes into the hands of private entities and not as a revenue stream for the provinces. The profits are separate from the taxes. It's the stupid amount of mark up where the MLCC makes most of their money from. You are conflating MLCC profit with taxes- they are separate. See above in regards to conflating revenue with taxes. Well I reckon that is for another discussion. I can't speak to your own experience.
  6. You're missing out. There is some mighty fine story telling in video games these days... Last of Us Last of Us 2 God Of War God of war Ragnarock Red Dead Redemption 2 Ghost of Tsushima Mass Effect Series Pick up a PS5 and substitute one or two of your least favourite shows with a game or two.
  7. Interesting take here on the trump town hall on cnn... I had no idea that CNN was bought last year and now have a right-wing bend. Aside from views, this seems to be another reason.
  8. How do you have enough time to watch all these shows? You need to tell me your secret!
  9. I like the big assed "W" on the front. Don't really care is that is the normal hockey jersey layout. Agreed, our home uniforms are the absolute best. You will hear no argument from on that.
  10. I dunno, the alternates were a mixed bag... the whole uni, sucked- but those jerseys... they are pretty nice. Go with the helm, jersey and gold and white pants with blue trim and you got a ******* winner.
  11. Ok... so currently, all profits from liquor sales go back into the health care system. Moving to a privatized profit driven model for liquor sales and you don't expect any loss to the health care revenue stream? Health care receives $284 million annually. MB spends approximately $212 million annually on treating alcohol related health issues. Which would net $72 million for other Healthcare spending So, you take away the $284 million revenue stream, increase the consumption of alcohol because once privatized, consumption always goes up (almost universally accepted fact through numerous studies) leading to increase in spending on the alcohol related health issues.... So... you lose $284 million, increase the cost of alcohol related care and you stand by the "pathetic than stating that allowing some private liquor sales will take millions of dollars out of health care." Statement? How? I am genuinely curious to see your math on this one.
  12. Wow... this is next level stuff. Amazing thread on Global surveillance via... your phone. Surprise, it's not a government...
  13. You give the Democrats far too much credit... I mean, you are right- this santos thing is a total boon for the Democrats, I feel it's the same story over and over, the Rs are just soooooo bad, that the Ds just passively benefit from the shitshow.
  14. 53.8% for Santos 46.2% for Zimmerman That is a big gap- you might be right. Although... the amount of stuff that came out might have been enough for 4% of the republicans to ... nah, you're probably right.
  15. They did though, unfortunately after he was elected.
  16. To be fair- the Democrats **** the bed on that guy. They could have buried him before the election if they did ANY oppo research.
  17. I would bet that you are both right. As progressive as we think we are as Canadians... we are not that progressive. I don't foresee a non-white PM anytime soon, which is very unfortunate because you are not using 100% of the talent pool.
  18. Instead of actively trolling people in these political threads and further eroding the civility that remains and actually contribute to furthering the toxicity- wouldn't it be easier to just not visit the politics threads if it bothers you so much? Seriously, I mean you have a ignore option for posters who you see very little civility and who are not very respectful- you could just ignore those posters instead of trolling them. Just because you don't like it, I don't see why you need to advocate killing the threads that many people post in. You could honestly, just ignore the threads- unless you are trying to punish all those bullies and everyone else that post in those threads.
