  1. I am really happy to see Kromah play well. PI reviews need to go away and soon. Challenging judgment calls in slow-motion causes as many or more problems then it solves. Every teams' offence seems to be lacklustre at times this season. Why? Could be all the penalties being called at inopportune times and the defences seem to be that much better.
  2. This rumour may have legs. The buzz and rumour mill surrounding this deal are oddly similar to what happened last year prior to the trade for Alex Hall. Hard to tell if it will happen for sure but I am pretty sure both parties have been discussing a potential trade.
  3. This sucks for Kory big time. He likely makes that team had he stayed healthy and even if he didn't make the Raiders he would have been due for a healthy offer from a CFL team (unlikely the Riders). Hate to see guys get hurt like that.
  4. Free agency is always a crap shoot and more often times then not players will choose a team other then the one you cheer for. The Riders put in a big offer of Shea Emry but were outbid by Toronto. It happens all the time.
  5. I'm curious to see if Etch can make the adjustment in his scheme to stop the run. The Als' pass game is dreadful so stop the run and stopmthe Alouette offence. The defence for Montreal is still a pretty formidable group and they have an excellent coordinator with Thorpe.
  6. Excellent receiver but it all boils down to what a team has to give up to get him. Not a fan of giving up too much NI depth for Import receivers.
  7. There is a better chance that he will be with the bombers then the riders. That being said there is a pretty good chance he sticks in Oakland.
  8. Long time poster on other fan boards. A Rider fan (obviously given the avatar) who has been living in Corner Brook Newfoundland for going on four years. I love football, especially the CFL, and enjoy talking with fans from other teams. I'm pretty happy to see the Bombers an improved team (but not too improved I hope) as I always enjoyed the rivalry growing up regardless of how the games ended (both fan bases had to endure Michael Bishop).
  9. Absolutely. Division winners get first round byes while the four teams with the next best records get 3-6 regardless of division. This still keeps divisions in play but ensures that the teams with the 6 best records are in the playoffs.
  10. You can really only fully see his "MO" in the last three years as this is truly the only time he has been running the show. He has been quite adept at compiling mid to late round draft picks and these have been decent players. Taman does like to pay for veteran talent but it is hard to argue with his recent level of success.
  11. Yes. The new Commissioner should be someone with strong ties in Southern Ontario and some charisma. IMO Commissioners don't need to have strong sporting backgrounds as long as they are long time fans/supporters and have good political and private sector connections. I thought having a great tan was the only requirement??? Then I guess Walby's out.

  13. You forgot the part where he won the grey cup. Taman has shown himself to be a pretty adept GM in the two years he has been given total control with the Riders. Previous to that, whether in Regina or Winnipeg, he was always hindered by his overlords.
  14. This is the best helmet of the bunch so far.
  15. This version looks pretty good. Don't get where they were going with the white camo. Some very peculiar colour/design choices with all of the signature jerseys so far.
  16. I'm pulling for Kromah. If he can't beat out Kuale then it may be curtains.
  17. That doesn't necessarily speak to leg strength.
  18. Why? Bartel is a non-import and has an almost identical average punt average as Schmitt this year. Bartel has struggled this year. It's tough to tell with stats. After week 8, Bartell has 1 punt more than Schmitt with Schmitt's average 0.1 yards per punt better (Bartell 44.3 while Schmitt is 44.4). Their net averages are 2 yards different (Bartell 37.5, Schmitt 35.5). Bartel has had 13 punts inside the 20 yard line and 5 inside the 10 yard line while Schmitt has 11 inside the 20 and 2 inside the 5. I see 44.8 for Bartel and 44.6 for Schmitt on CFL.ca Anyways, it's Bartel's best year average wise. Bartel has been punting okay overall. The loss of Schmitt is more concerning his kickoffs which are some of the best.
  19. He sold his house in Regina in the offseason and his girlfriend now lives with him in Kansas City. Unless she has a piano tied to her arse she can move with him elsewhere in the CFL. You are probably right that he ends up back in Regina, but it won't be the no-brainer you think it is. There are 2 teams who have already confirmed they will be throwing their hat in the ring on Dressler. (Ottawa and Toronto)...wouldn't surprise me if there are more. It never ceases to amaze me how Rider fans seem to think there team and city is some kind of Shangri-La that players would never consider leaving elsewhere for. Heard the same tripe about Andy Fantuz, Craig Butler, etc etc. Taman will need to break out the cheque book in a big way for Dressler, if he doesn't he will lose him to someone else. Unfortunately for the RIders that probably handcuffs them if Sheets comes back or in renegotiating new contracts for guys like Chick, TBrack etc. before FA. Taman may be considered a hero now over there, but they are about to find out that his long term SMS strategy is not fundamentally sound. Andy re-upped in Saskatchewan not once but twice. He left after a dismal 2011 season and actually played for the Riders briefly after returning from the NFL. Most understood he was leaving and most were okay with it as the money we saved on Andy helped to sign LaBatte who is much more vital. Butler was essentially as good as gone (and most knew it) as soon he was replaced by Brackenridge at safety. He was fairly clear that he wanted to play safety and preferred Ontario or BC over Saskatchewan. Not sure why you guys hate Taman so much. He is truly one of the good guys of the CFL and although he is rough around the edges a pretty solid guy who most in the CFL have a lot of respect for. Nah. Most here have a decent respect for Taman and actually a fair bit of sympathy for him as tried to build a winning team with Lyle Bauer keeping him on a very short leash. Only those with foam coming out of their mouths really bad-mouth him. Good to hear that. Brendan truly is a decent guy who really seems to care about the people in the business. That isn't always the case with management.
  20. This is the reality. Milo has shown himself to be excellent but in the West Division it is near impossible to wait for a kicker to work themselves out of a funk. It is just way too close.
  21. If you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin. and if someone else is cheatin' but you can't afford to ***** about it non stop and then change your tune when you are in that position right? Rider fans disgust me on so many levels. Worst people in the world. Not like you overgeneralize or anything but carry on.
  22. If you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin.

  24. To me, either Milo is hurt or this is an attempt to have somebody ready in case he doesn't come around. The way Milo kicked in 2013 would suggest that he is capable of better play but placekicking is such a confidence thing that he may be too far gone.
  25. Paris Jackson was done 3 or 4 years ago already.
