    restructure to drop 250K off the top, make it incentive based, then throw another 100K at Bighill, and maybe if Matthews only signed a 1 year deal, offer him 150K! Dare to dream eh!

    disagree.... Nichols after the Banjo Bowl last season played very much like he did this season. He had 2 games since then. 2017 West Semi Final and at home against Calgary a few weeks ago. That's it.

    I saw one particular play in I believe the 3rd quarter, where Nichols missed a wide open Harris on the run, which could have easily turned into a 20 yard play. Harris' body language walking back to the huddle after that play to me just spoke volumes.... just looked dejected. There comes a point when the guys just don't believe anymore. I think you had a receiving corps that had given up on the guy behind centre. I 100% believe that you would have seen more jump in their step had Streveler gone in and taken over. Would it have made the difference, hey, we'll never know. But they had to at least give it a try.

    Character doesn't necessarily win games. That's why Buck Pierce had to be told to hang em up. The desire to play isnt the question, you just have to look ahead and realize theres better options ahead. Nichols is a great character guy. That doesn't mean hes a great quarterback.

    You're not going to get sympathy out of me. Theres alot of new Nichols detractors. But I've been saying this for 2 years. He cant complete long passes on a regular basis. That equates to not being a good.QB.

    I said I'd buy a Nichols Jersey if he got us to the Grey Cup....not even win it, just get us there. I cant put enough emphasis on how hard this organization needs to wake up and realize this guy doesn't have the tools. So he wakes up early, and shows up ready to work. So does the janitor. It doesn't mean he's the guy when he cant move the sticks. Harris looked dejected after a few missed throws.... Dessler knows he missed him on a couple big plays. He'll be a good high school coach I'm sure.

    No one is giving Nichols starters money next year. To me, hes in Lulay territory. Adequate backup. Even still, might as well have some youth with upside.

    Spend the money on Bighill, and lets expect better from our QB. Weve had more than enough ge to judge Nichols by, and beyond his first half a season as starter, hes been mediocre. This season, subpar is being nice. Play calling wasnt great today, but I bet LaPo would have loved to have Streveler in there. That's on O'Shea. Would love to be a fly on the wall at half time. If LaPo didnt ask for the change, hes no better.

    With #15 behind centre, yes. Need to keep that D on their toes, and when your QB has no.mobility, they can key in on our weakness.

    Comes back to calling a game that is achievable. Nichols having to complete a pass over 10 yards is a stretch. Calgary knew it, and they forced us into a situation they knew they'd win!

    Nichols should not have played beyond.10 minutes in the 3rd. O'Shea is too loyal, and they didnt even use Streveler properly today when he was in.

    The Bombers really have to focus on having some long sustained drives... if Calgary puts up some points early and turns this into a shootout, I don't think we can keep up. Run the ball, mix in some short passes and take time off the clock. The defence can shut them down if they get pressure, but if Mitchell is given time to get the ball downfield, he's going to make his plays. Unfortunately, I don't see Harris getting another 150+ game on the ground, so Nichols is going to have to get it done in the air! I hope they mix in some more Streveler like they were doing last week. I think him ripping off a few first yard runs will help! It's cliche, but it really is going to take a total team game to make it to the Grey Cup! That said, I'm predicting a Bomber/Ticats final. Bombers 34-Stamps 31 today!
