  1. I talk football because I love the game and I love my Riders. Its not my job. I run a business and have kids that I am raising. My daughter is in Winnipeg this week at Zajak hockey school. Wife says its been very good. Meanwhile with the Riders, we will be better with Collaros playing that's for sure. I don't see him staying healthy, that's why wouldn't have brought him in, never mind the big bucks he makes. When a team loses a starting qb, its hard to have the same expected success the team had prior to the injury.
  2. Our offense has been offensive all year. Last in pass attempts, last in pass yardage, last in completions. It will improve with Collaros playing, until his next injury
  3. We have allowed 10 sacks, you have allowed 9.
  4. Would you not agree that its easier for a young qb to play in a offense that runs the ball a lot? A pass first offense like we run is not easy for a young guy to step in and have success with.
  5. We need to win 3 out of next 4 in the worst way. Likely we win 2. We lost some games we should have won. Now we have to win some games we should lose to make up for it. No excuse for losing to Montreal, back up qb or not. Our defense is as good as anybody's and better than most. I'm in a happy place, if we win then its good. If we lose then its nails in the coffin for Jones who I don't like anyway. We will give the Stamps all they can handle this week, not sure if it will be enough or not
  6. No worries. I don't know why everyone gets their panties in a knot because I don't worship Matt Nichols. He is not without flaws. One thing is for sure, we need a win against the Stamps on Sunday. We have played them close but just couldn't get it done. No excuses, at this point, we are what our record says we are
  7. Ok. Does that logic apply to other teams when their starter is not playing? Or is that just true when its the Bombers
  8. I'm not surprised either. I'm just having some fun. We will see how bad we are when you come here on Labor day
  9. Football is a team sport. Nichols isn't the only reason you have won games. Harris is a far bigger major component to your offense than Nichols is whether anyone wants to admit it or not. Nichols has played not bad along the way
  10. I was just kidding. I haven't mentioned Nichols in a long time. Got tired of fighting against the whole site day after day. Some of the comments about the Riders are a bit over the top too don't you think?
  11. Is Matt Nichols still your qb? Don't hold your breath
  12. He is just a whisker past confident
  13. The riders sell far and away the most merchandise in the league so its not that. I would chalk it up as stupidity and wanting to see his name in the paper
  14. Stegall probably thinks he could still play. Arrogance was something he was never running low on
  15. No we don't. They don't play the same position either in case you didn't know
  16. Its also the most common thing that happens on goal line stands. Hard to believe no one even noticed
  17. Purifoy signs with Riders https://www.cfl.ca/2018/08/07/report-db-purifoy-signs-roughriders/
  18. I rarely ever complain about a penalty called against us. Once a guy calms down for a minute and thinks about it, they are usually legit. What drives me up the wall are the non calls that go against us in our opponents favor. 2 phantom UR calls on punt returns against us. The entire Esks dline a mile offside twice on the goalline stand. Sewell was in Rider backfield when ball was snapped ffs. The reversed call on the td was a back breaker for us. Personally don't think he was in. That doesn't matter, the call on the field was td and there was clearly no overwhelming evidence to overturn that call. Its not the Rider fault they f'd the call the first time. You can't overturn it unless the proof is on film, it was not. Lastly, the Eskimo receivers pushing off game after game and no call for it. Watch them in their next game, they do it all the time
  19. They even mentioned on tv during the game that Edmonton practices throwing the 50/50 balls. Why wouldn't they when they can get away with it. Walker pushes off Gainey for the TD and then makes a throat slash gesture. No one seen a thing.
  20. Many fans asking the same question. Especially when Rob Bagg and Bakari Grant were deemed too old. Young mans game Jones said.
  21. All rivalry pot shots aside. Dam few franchises could endure a grey cup drought as long as the current Bomber one and still be drawing 27k'sh per game. A tip of the hat to all of you who are season ticket holders. I was one of the 22k that was still there at Rider games when we didn't even know if we were going to have a team anymore when the Stamps were paying Flutie a million dollars to play. I know what pain and frustration feels like.
  22. They were my retirement plan. should have bought Apple instead
  23. You mean my Rider shares aren't worth a million dollars?
  24. Fair points. My point still stands. You are not going to get that grass roots level support in the city. In fairness to Bombers, they are well supported and a very solid base. I am speaking in general terms referring to the league as a whole. The smaller stadium is one way to go, worked well in Montreal. Not working in Toronto, that team needs to be moved to a smaller center IMHO
  25. Don't use the Jets as a excuse. They were gone for a long time and attendance wasn't any higher. The Moose weren't always there either. Winnipeg is more a big city than Regina. Big city people usually don't pay for something they may not use. CFL season tickets are very affordable, buy a couple and go when you can. The team will have the valuable support it needs. That's why it works here. People have seen us almost lose our team, no one wants that to ever happen again. People buy season tickets and go when they can, its how we make sure our team is in a solid financial situation. I know many business owners who have a couple tickets they just give away to customers. I'm not picking on Winnipeg, same happens in Edmonton and Calgary. Truth is id like to see every stadium full every game, it would make the league stronger and hopefully maybe more money to pay our players too.
