  1. This is why the name doesn't bother most Rider fans. We all some crazy friends from Manitoba, we know the truth about how it is there. Redneck country south of Brandon, lots of great people down that way. Years back in Banjo Bowl after a sack, Scott Schultz was strumming the air banjo while Nate Davis danced, hilarious. Its a good marketing idea
  2. Totally agree. I've said it before, if your offense ever clicks you guys are going to be no fun to play against.
  3. Next week. Not this week. But you are right, he isn't scoring td's and it will haunt you guys soon
  4. CFL website says attendance was 24041, so there was 9549 empty seats at the game. The attendance is for tickets sold. look it up yourself. For the record, the 14k number I quoted was one I read, I didn't make it up. I just looked it up officially a few minutes ago. The rain delay did not effect how many tickets were sold, or are you under the delusion that when you go home they adjust the attendance to account for your absence??
  5. There are always games when crowds are poor. Can't for the life of me understand why we play a friggin home game every year when Craven is on. Always a poor crowd. Always factors that effect individual games. The season as a whole however is different. Look at average attendance and things of that nature tell a different storey. You guys had 14k empty seats at your last home game. BUT with the Bombers in the playoff hunt and lots of home games coming up, the attendance will be way up. When the season ends, it will be a very successful one when average attendance is calculated. Our attendance may or may not dip as the season unfolds depending on how bad we finish, but with 28k season tickets sold our average will likely stay strong. I know all the cool kids make fun of the riders for every little thing, but supporting our team is what we do here. We almost lost the riders once many years ago, no one ever wants to see that happen again.
  6. Thanks. I know it effected his draft position from what I remember. Good on the Bombers for taking a chance on him. Here's hoping he has a long and healthy career. Always great for the league to see some Canadian kids become stars. Does wonders for our CIS programs.
  7. Our stadium isn't half empty so we don't have to figure it out
  8. Someone correct me here but was there not a injury concern with Loffler when he was draft eligible? Nonetheless he has been nothing short than great since he has started playing. Rookie of the year candidate maybe depending on the rest of the season goes.
  9. You are coming around.
  10. Not being difficult. He is valuable to you because he is already here, everyone knows him, he knows the system and coaches. Doesn't have as much pressure on him as he would have in Toronto. If Nichols shytes the bed, Willy can come in and play, and if Willy sucks Bombers can platoon them or make something work. In Toronto, Willy doesn't know players, doesn't know coaches, will have lots of pressure on him to deliver assuming Argo's gave up asking price assets to get him( Lawless reporting Bombers want high draft pick and roster player), doesn't know the offense. SO.... By the time Willy gets up to speed on their offense and makes a meaningful contribution likely the season is lost anyway. So unless Argos are looking as Willy as who they want next year not much sense giving up a lot to get him. Strictly my humble opinion of course. I would be looking at trying to get Franklin out of Edmonton if I were the Argo's. Younger, cheaper, and sets them up nicely going into next year.
  11. No one cares about the Argos whether they are winning or not in Toronto
  12. That's fine Mike. If I were you I wouldn't trade him at all. I wouldn't bet the farm that Nichols doesn't fall apart before the year is over and Willy will be playing. The smart move for you guys is not making one at all.
  13. You think Barker is a fool? desperate? Who says Willy plays better than the backups they have there now? Drew will be 30 in a few months and is owed even more money next year. The Argos have to take on his huge contract and hope they can get him turned around also. Not saying maybe they don't trade for him but IMHO they would be foolish to give up a lot to get him. I'd say a Canadian player and a draft pick, not a first round one either.
  14. Then you don't really want to trade very bad then. That's way too much.
  15. I've been to Winnipeg more than once for a game. Bomber fans make a lot of noise, excellent atmosphere to watch a game. Winnipeg is definitely a very important cornerstone in this league. I wasn't questioning the fans cheering or anything while at the stadium more referring to attendance numbers only.
  16. The thing about the coaching argument, I'm just not buying it. Maybe a bit on KR and PR, but not at receiving. Nic sometimes isn't sticking his nose in there to take a big hit to catch the ball. The dancing around is indecision IMO, the game is moving too fast for him. Not sure coaching straightens that out or not. As I have said before, the kid shows potential and I hope he gets things on track
  17. If he's talking about Zack Evans he is from God's country. And I would love to see players have to play in their home province, we have plenty of good ones coming out of Sask. Damm Quebec with all those good lineman however would be tough to deal with.
  18. Collins and Holley looked not bad last week helping Durant pass for 400 yards against you guys I thought.
  19. IGF capacity is 33500. Old Mosiac 33427.. new mosaic 33000. Stadiums are the same size
  20. How many times has your stadium been full this year?
  21. You eat the watermelon soaked in rum while making the helmet.. All part of the process
  22. Ok so it might not happen.. You won't like it
  23. I have been disappointed with his play this year. Had high hopes for him. Too much dancing around after he gets the ball, needs to commit and go on punt returns. He has been better as a receiver but was NOT impressed when he chickened out on the pass from Durant against Edmonton with the game on the line. He has to step in there and try to catch that ball and take the hit. He sort of alligator armed it. He isn't a rookie anymore and if he wants a increased role he needs to show more. He is still young and I hope it works out for him.
  24. We're gonna kick your asses this weekend and your gonna like it. Had about enough of this, you guys winning all the time malarkey.
  25. Don't drag us into this, I'm enjoying this.
