Getting the ball with 1:29 on the clock with 100 yards to go for the winning td isn't exactly a gimme for any qb.

Pride cometh before a fall.

Winning trumps all. Ottawa got a chance to improve their team so they took it. Winners do that.

I'd split first team reps in practice this week and then start Willy in game. I'd let him know the leash will be short. Or just go to a straight up platoon situation during game. Be interesting to see what the Oline looks like with Nichols behind it. Be interesting to see if Lapo's conservative calls look conservative when Nichols is playing.

Burris keeps himself in amazing shape and has never had a serious injury. He wants to be the man and wants his money. He has no job to come back to now in Ottawa. He will play anywhere IMO. I wouldn't doubt if he plays next year too in the league. Is Burris the answer, I don't think so. Would he come to the Peg, absolutely he would, but Willy would have to be gone.

IMHO, Harris is not a great rb. His runs are successful when not used a lot. He is awesome as a blocker, and awesome leaking out of the backfield catching the ball. Anyone remember Craig Ellis from the old days. That dump play was money and almost unstoppable. Seems Lapo isn't playing to the strengths of the team. Dressler underneath is money also. Adams needs way more touches too.

If you look closely at the throws to Bowman, not all of them are perfect. Bowman just uses his size to get the ball. The one into double coverage comes to mind. Macho just looked lost on play and basically stands there and watches him catch the ball. There is a reason why Dressler is at slot and not WR. He isn't a burner and isn't tall. On the underneath stuff 20 yards and less Dressler is as good as anyone. Fearless with great hands. On the long ones he just has to be wide open to get it. Its too easy to shut him down on a contested ball. I question that play call in the first place. Secondly its easy for people to say Willy should have done this or that, But reality is that its pretty friggin hard to throw a ball that deep on a rope. You play percentages, guys like Bowman or Chiles or Arceneaux that have some size do not require the ball perfectly thrown and they don't have to be wide open to catch it. Does Willy actually have to throw the ball perfectly every time they go deep for someone to catch it?? Be nice to see some receivers make a friggin play and help him out. Went to Adams early a bit and then it seemed he was out of the playbook after that. Adams has been awful good this year, WTF wasn't he getting more looks? 3 weeks ago you were having success with Harris and went away from him. IF its working you have to stick with it. I see a lot of this landing on Lapo's plate. Play calling has been super conservative for Bombers this year.

LOL, you aren't

Seemed to me in second half that Shologan was standing on bench a fair amount. Did I miss him getting hurt?
-
One small saving grace in that is it makes the loss a bit easier to endure. At least a guy is pulling out the stops to try to win it

He won't like the humidity in Winnipeg. His ora will be out of sync or something

The film won't lie. If guys were open down field and he was dumping it late in game, he should be benched no matter how much he is making. A leader needs to be looking down field for the win when the game is on the line. As I have said before, he is not calling the plays. Need sideline routes to stop clock, need longer strikes down field. He was f'n around like they had 5 minutes on the clock

Outside of Chungh (sp), who was bad, the oline gave Willy time enough to do something tonight. Macho was brutal. Leggett was good
-
He seemed scared to step up into the pocket, a bit of happy feet
-
Willy isn't calling the plays is he? WTF is Lapo calling with 129 on the clock. Pathetic 2 minute drill
-
The Double D exchange. Its a two one sale. Only color available is green. Black will be stumbling all over it. LOL
-
Dressler is 100 times better now that he is a Bomber. Surely a player of that magnitude would not require any illegal blocks to be successful.

Don't remember him ever being a KR but as a PR he is slippery and can take one to the house pretty quick. He's a good north/ south runner and always gets positive yardage. At the time I guess he was just too valuable to our roster to have him doing returns for fear of him getting hurt is how I remember it. Was never a case of him not being good at it because he is.
-
Doesn't Leggett return kicks etc..? No way Adams plays with no practice time I wouldn't think either.

Be still my heart!

I've never seen the guy play, just what I'm reading is all. Lankford is on PR so he is still here. It is nice to see some new blood coming into the league this year.
-
We have another guy waiting in the wings that everyone is excited about. Armanti Edwards

I'm not putting him on a pedestal. I just said he has been good. I don't think it will change. If it does, oh well, out he goes. The dropsies are a terrible thing, never goes away. Bowman would be in the NFL if he could catch. You are right that we have all seen a lot of guys flame out in this league. Haven't seen any drops here yet but will keep a eye out for it now that you have mentioned it.

I always enjoy watching the evil empire lose, so wouldn't break my heart if you guys beat them. Also believe they are not the team they were a year ago, neither are you guys, so a win is not out of the question. I will say however, beating the Esks is a tall order for you guys and could very well be a huge turning point in your season and more importantly Drew Willy's.
