  1. Harris thinks he is better than the Lions do obviously. Nothing wrong with a player being confident. I'd be careful about throwing too much money at him, think you will be disappointed.
  2. You are right. I'm just having some fun with you guys. Our small league would not survive with recycling players from team to team. Same goes for coaches.
  3. West was just re-signed, he was here last year. Sears and Reaves are starters? who is to say they aren't training camp fodder. Cobourne, Hall, Lapolice, Howard, Wylie, and Miles are all former rider coaches. Lemon was with the riders also before when he was bouncing around. Bastien, Cronk, Dressler, Harris, Hurl,, Neufeld, Newman, Rempel, Stoudemire, and Drew Willy. And that is just on your current roster as of today. It doesn't matter much to me but there is a lot of Green on your roster. Likely we are going to see a lot of red on ours this year and some green and gold too.
  4. Hey. I know we were terrible that's why the axe came for many of these players. I wasn't defending our team from last year, I'm still in rehab trying to erase the memories. LOL I am surprised Harris would be signed ahead of some others that are available.
  5. One thing about Macho is from time to time he does lay out some big hits
  6. I'm surprised the Bombers seem to be signing a lot of ex-rider players, coaches too. Seems weird. However I will really enjoy reading the post here from the people who laughed at us all year last year and said our team was terrible. Some said there wasn't a single player on our roster you would want in Winnipeg. For the record, I always liked Macho. He has some good games. He is a terrible tackler and sometimes gives up some big gains because of it.
  7. If the price is right, signing Dressler is a no brainer. The guy is all heart and has great hands. I called this a while ago, Dressler will be a Bomber
  8. Not surprising to Bomber fans, but surprising to Rider fans. We should form a support group for the Taman experiences we have suffered.
  9. It came out that Getz was getting 225, but fans here still assumed Dressler was at 200 because he is American and Getz is Canadian. It was also believed that Chick was making good money, but no one dreamt in their wildest dreams it was 260. Serious question for you Bomber fans, Chick is a great player but didn't 260k sound ridiculous when you heard it?
  10. How so? I follow the team pretty dam close and have never read a number as to Chicks salary. As far as Dressler was concerned it was kind of believed he was in 200 range, which lots of rider fans thought was too much. It has also been mentioned all off season that Jones was going to want to renegotiate Dresslers deal.
  11. I'll cut you some slack because Winnipeg is a city that embraces former players. In fact the bomber fans and the whole football experience in Manitoba is very much the same as Sask. Montreal and Toronto and Vancouver barely know they even have a team, lets not pretend there is much star power in those places.
  12. Ok so were the numbers announced at that time. I could care less if you guys want to have a laugh on us, you've been doing it all year, but get your facts straight at least. No one knew including you guys that dressler was making 240k/yr or Chick 260/yr
  13. Nobody is a bigger Chick fan than me. He is a warrior. He is going to get 175-180 and that's it. He has one maybe two years left. He is a fool to leave here where he was set up for life after football
  14. The Cats are after Chick. They going to pay him 260k/ yr? If not give you pathetic man crush on the riders a rest.
  15. Its a business and a job to these guys. As fans we often make it personal when it really isn't. I do agree with what you are saying however
  16. Bringing back Nichols is a good move. I'm not his biggest fan but he is a viable option coming off the bench. Also has enough experience to start a few games if need be. Rookies sometimes do ok off the bench but struggle when they have to become a emergency starter
  17. Thanks. I wasn't at the end of the thread when I posted, so I missed your post. I think one is awesome anyway, will really speed things up.
  18. I voted for one, but 2 or 3 max might be ok.
  19. John Bowman has been pretty vocal about this so it'll be interesting to see how they play for him this year. Bowman pretty much called Thorpe over-rated, saying that he inherited an already good defense. Bowman crying to Popp last year got Higgins fired so he is going to try again?
  20. This is right move by the league. Esks never asked for permission, plain and simple. Hervey is lucky to get off the hook without a fine. Truth is the league probably just decided to back off because they didn't know how to handle it.
  21. I think they'll have a hard time enforcing a penalty of that magnitude when they can point out that tampering is pretty much "standard practice" in the CFL. It's time for the CFL to start following it's own rules on personnel movement before the courts get involved. This certainly gives Orridge a mandate to accomplish something major during his tenure. If there is any kind of tampering, Orridge should come down hard on the Eskimos, fine-wise, and draft-pick wise. It's not as if Ed Hervey doesn't understand what's going on and is naive to the rules. The Alouettes believed they had a solid contract with Thorpe, and they did. They'll have to be compensated. Take a pick or picks away from the Eskimos and let them appeal that ruling. Fine Hervey..hard, for doing exactly what he knew to be doing. Fine the Eskimo org., because you have to. Orridge has to be tough here, and set precedent. Hervey has been fined twice already, so obviously the fine isn't getting it done. Eskimo 1st round pick goes to the Allouettes should get the message out there.
  22. Dear Santa, I would like 1 Saskatchewan RoughRiders season completely in the tank in 2016..... Sincerely, Noeller Sorry Noeller, even though for the most part you have been a pretty good boy this year, I will not be able to grant your wish this year. But as a gift that can still be enjoyed you are getting a Edmonton Eskimo season instead. Santa.
  23. You mean stupid move to think he would get away with it. Let him sit home this year. Hope the Esks get stripped of a draft pick in this mess also.
  24. I liked Terrell Maze. Chad Spann looked good for the little we saw of him. Otherwise no surprises, aging players making too much money
  25. You are right. I hate baseball. Do three quarters of those teams have any realistic chance to ever win the World Series? It remains to be seen if the Riders are the new Evil Empire. I doubt it but time will tell. We will never be the evil empire, because evil is not in us. Full credit to Rhodes and Hervey for not standing in the way of Jones. Very classy way to handle the situation. Same can't be said for the media and some of the fans, but upper Eskimo management has handled it the way its been handled many times in this league, with class. Why stand in the way... after Sask went after Jones, it was pretty clear that Edmonton would have to get rid of Hervey at some point to keep Jones... Hervey probably just bought himself three or four more years as GM 100% true. Hervey hasn't made that many dynamic moves, albeit he has made some good ones. At some point Jones would have out shined him. Only hope now for Edmonton is that Jones screws it up, because if he doesn't it s a constant reminder of what they could have had themselves. They have a ready excuse though, any success in Regina will be credited to Murphy, so they will be comfortable in saying Jones isn't GM material.
